Lia's vision flashed. Before she could react, the scorching heat of the hellfire land vanished, replaced by a cool, refreshing sensation that brushed against her skin. The distant roar of flames faded into the gentle sound of flowing water, and a soft breeze slipped past her, carrying with it the faint rustle of bamboo leaves.
They were now inside a small ancient pavilion. Its stone roof was supported by weathered pillars, and at the center stood a round table carved entirely from rock, accompanied by two matching stone seats. Through the open sides of the pavilion, she could see a serene bamboo forest on one side and a calm river flowing gracefully on the other, the entire scene wrapped in a quiet, timeless tranquility.
Lia immediately took a deep breath seeing this scene. She felt refreshed being here.
"Did you make this, Grey?" She asked curiously as she drew in the fresh air.
"Of course not." He shook his head.
He could essentially make one without a doubt, but why bother when this place already existed.
He noticed it when he was scanning the secret realm to search for a place for the infernals, and he believed it was something Brandon created himself.
"Have a seat." Grey gestured towards Lia and sat down.
Seeing this, Lia followed suit and also sat down with him.
Immediately, Grey took out the wine that Werner had brought him. The last time he visited Werner at the Formation Association's headquarters to create his AV, he had asked him to send the bottle of wine he had drunk when he sat in the main office of the association, and Werner did as he was told and sent a batch of it.
Now, he had plenty of tasty and refreshing wine within his spatial ring.
As soon as Grey took the wine out, Lia was surprised. "Is this the Springfield wine?"
"The what wine?" Grey tilted his head. "I have no idea, I just like drinking it, I never bothered with the names."
"It's a wine manufactured by a three star Essence Infusion Chef." She spoke carefully as she analyzed the bottle. "I only ever drank this once or twice in Nova City, it's really really hard to get, just one bottle alone is sought out by even third ranking experts."
"Essence Infusion Chef huh?" Grey nodded. The last time he had heard of an Essence Infusion Chef was back in Nova City when he was tasting the hundred year old divine wine by a three star Essence Infusion Chef in the golden chamber along with Lia.
During these two months he never really paid attention to this specific profession, however now that he had remembered it, he would check it out once he was free.
"I don't know if it's the same thing or not, but it's very good. You should try some." Two small wine cups appeared, and Grey used telekinesis to pour them both an equal amount.
Grey took ahold of the cup and gulped it down slowly, savoring its taste.
Lia did the same, and as soon as she did, she confirmed. "Yes, this is definitely the Springfield wine."
Having tasted the wine before, she could tell from just the first sip alone that it was the real thing.
Grey merely shrugged. "Is that so? If you like it just tell me, I got like more than fifty bottles of these in my spatial ring."
"..." Lia chuckled dryly when she heard this.
She was past the stage of being shocked by Grey's things. She just took the wine bottle and poured herself another drink.
She gulped it down, and with the ambience and the refreshing taste of the wine, Lia calmed down, becoming more relaxed.
At the same time, a thought suddenly appeared in her mind.
Just the two of them, her and Grey here in this bamboo forest, did this not mean that this was a date?
'A date?'
She shook her head quickly. No, that was not why they were here.
They were here to tell each other secrets.
'Secrets?' Lia's face flushed red, and she imagined something else when she thought about secrets.
Then, she snapped out of her thoughts when Grey began speaking. "Alright, now tell me, what exactly happened to you? How did you suddenly become a god? I'm sure it's related to your Endless Potential Body, but last time I checked you were human."
Hearing this, Lia was silent. She poured herself another cup and gulped it down before speaking.
"It all began when I came to the Three Guards Province." She softly said. "I didn't know why, but all of a sudden I started having strange dreams."
"Strange dreams?" Grey inquired curiously as he waved his hand and poured himself and Lia a cup of wine.
"Yes." Lia nodded. "Strange dreams about an axe."
"..." The instant Grey heard the term "axe" he paused, and so did Lia. She was looking at him as if she wanted to know if he knew something about it or not.
And from his reaction just now, she confirmed it.
"An axe you say?" Grey frowned and spoke. "I saw you speaking with Little Hong, do you know what she is?"
"Yes." Lia immediately nodded, her heart slightly racing. "Little Hong told me that she sensed a strange power similar to her brother from me and that she was an axe."
"A similar power to her brother?" Grey was dumbfounded. "Which one was she talking about?"
He knew she had two other siblings, one allegedly being the Heavenly Dao that encompasses and governs all of existence itself. As for the other, he did not know.
"I don't know." She shook her head. "But what she reacted to was the law I awakened after undergoing transformation."
She was going to push her law out to show Grey and explain it to him, but...
"You mean the Law of Hongmeng?" Grey had a thoughtful expression on his face.
"..." Lia's lips were tightly sealed.
Indeed, what was she thinking? This fellow knew everything for god's sake and even knew about the grand law she cultivated even though he had not seen it in action yet.
"That's right, the Law of Hongmeng." Lia replied awkwardly.
She honestly wanted to surprise Grey with her law, yet he already seemed to know about it and did not even show a surprised expression.
It made her wonder if he had an even more powerful law.
