"Hundred Million Galactic Credits!" Fiona raised her hand again.
"T-Two Hundred Million..." Timmy also raised his frail hand that was trembling now.
As the bidding war intensified between the two, Fiona looked back to see the face of the person who was bidding against her. After all, the item on auction wasn't even that precious.
There was a reason no one else was bidding for the item. It was because the item was literally useless to even be used as paper weight. There was no description of the item other than it being brought back by a scavenger.
Even the people at the auction house couldn't detect any usefulness of this item, but since the seller insisted, they had to put it in auction.
The only reason Fiona was even bidding for this item wasn't because she found it useful. It was because this was her way of making an appearance.
With other items that were even a little useful, she couldn't even get past the entry bidding. But this time, she thought she could have it easily. Just then, another person had to make an appearance?
She glanced back, memorizing Timmy's face who was just two rows behind her.
"Three Hundred Million!" Fiona exclaimed.
"W-we should stop now, right? It's three hundred million..." Timmy mumbled, looking at Kaelus.
Three hundred million wasn't little. There was a time when he could have literally bought Glitzy's Delivery Service with that many credits. And more he was spending them on things that he didn't even want.
Although the money didn't belong to him, he still felt the pain in his heart as he increased the bids.
"How can you even think about giving up? If you're worried about credits, then don't! We have robbed... I mean we have enough contributions to help us get that item." Kaelus pinched Timmy, making him bid higher.
With tears streaming down his eyes, Timmy exclaimed, "Five Hundred Million Credits!"
Meanwhile, Leo was still stepping down the stairs, reaching closer to the seating rows.
Throughout this time, he was wondering, "Why are the two of them entering a bidding war? Is that thing really that important?"
In any case, it didn't matter to him. All that mattered was meeting up with Kaelus, who he lost last time. This time, he wasn't planning to lose him again.
"Sir, where do you think you're going? You aren't allowed here!" Leo was halfway through when a man with a unicorn-like horn protruding out of his forehead blocked his path.
"Umm.... I'm a guest at a VIP Room. I am just trying to get a closer view of the item," Leo explained, but the man didn't seem impressed.
The man simply pointed towards the Auction House Owner who was standing near the stadium, glaring at him.
"I'm sorry, sir. But you have been banned from going anywhere near the stage until the auction is over."
"Come on! You can't be thinking that I'm going to get on the stage again, right? How about you just let me get a little farther?"
"Please turn around and leave this area, or we would be forced to restrict you!" The man didn't show much reaction, like his face was made of stone.
"Fine! I'll wait then." Leo, albeit frustrated, turned around. He had no choice but to wait until the auction was over before he could meet Kaelus and Timmy.
Fortunately, the two of them also couldn't leave before the end of the auction.
Unlike those in the VIP Seatings that were allowed to freely enter or leave, those in the general seating area weren't allowed to leave this area until the auction had ended.
"It's only a matter of time." Leo, again acting naturally, turned around. With each passing step, he walked farther and farther away from the stage.
....
Meanwhile in a VIP Room, Selene had also stood up from her seat.
"Inform me when the Celestial Lotus is on auction. I'll be outside until then."
"Mother, if any ordinary person sees you strolling around, they would die out of fear. Not everyone is like the Auction House owner who was expecting your presence after all."
"Don't worry. I'm not trying to kill or intimate anyone. I'll just be outside to get a better view of the Necropolis Ship, to see if I can see inside it. As for scaring people, you don't have to worry about that."
Selene raised her hand. With a snap of her finger, the ten wings behind her back started disappearing.
"Don't forget that I'm your mother. What you know, I know a thousand times over."
Her golden eyes that held the divinity of the entire universe, turned a beautiful shade of blue. Even her hair darkened, as her dress changed to an ordinary looking gown that was popular amongst humans.
"Now, no one will recognise me, right?" she asked as she opened the door and stepped out of the room.
As for the attendant, she wanted to inform the Auction House Owner, but she remained still like a statue, afraid to offend these special guests.
Selene, leaving the VIP room, walked across the long corridor. On one side, there was a long row of doors that led to each VIP room. On the other side, there were glass walls that were giving a beautiful view of the outside sky.
With graceful steps, Selene reached the end of the hallway, seeing the path diverge into two. One led to the stage, while the other led outside the auction house.
She selected the second path, moving with steps so silent that it felt like she was a mere ghost.
Soon, she reached another divergence. The left led to the true exit, while the right led to an open garden with a clear view of the sky, and flowers that were brought from all over the world.
As she could already see everything, she didn't even need to ask for directions as she selected the second path, and approached the garden.
A few minutes after she had taken the path, a young man also arrived at the same divergence after being kicked out of the general seating area.
Since he wasn't in a hurry to return to his VIP Room, Leo also selected the second path, to get a closer connection with the Necropolis Ship without leaving the auction house completely.
