Leo reached the end of the passage, only to be greeted by exotic flowers welcoming him.
Even the grass in the garden looked soft and gentle, with slight dew on them. At the sight, Leo couldn't help but take off his shoes as he walked on the grass with naked feet, feeling the cold touch.
No matter the world, that feeling was constant. It was slightly cold, and felt like the grass was lightly massaging his feet as he stepped in the garden of flowers.
"What a beautiful sight." He said, his eyes roaming around the garden which was so vast that it looked like an entire sky scraper could be constructed here.
"Hmm? I didn't know there was someone else here..." He subconsciously said, his eyes falling on a surreal figure in the distance, whose entire body was shrouded in a beautiful moonlight.
The gentle light reflected off her skin, giving her an angelic feeling. It was as if an angel had descended to earth after losing her winds.
The woman was looking at the sky, and didn't react. It was unclear if she just didn't see Leo, or if she didn't consider his presence worth her attention.
"Were you also bored of the auction?" Leo approached the woman, intrigued by her standing alone in the garden, just looking at the stars.
She didn't look like she worked for the Auction House. If she did, she couldn't leave her post during such an important auction.
She also looked frail to the point that he couldn't imagine her working as security detail for this Auction House. That only meant that she was a guest of the Auction House.
"Can you hear me?" Leo asked again, receiving no reaction. It even made him wonder if the woman could hear him or not.
The woman still didn't respond, her eyes were fixed in the starry sky as if she was looking for something.
"She probably can't hear me. By now, even someone ignoring me would've shown that frustrated look," Leo mumbled, shaking his head lightly. "What a poor soul..."
With a look of pity in his eyes, he brought out his phone and started searching for something.
After he read up on the search result a little, he walked before the girl, still maintaining a few meters of safe distance from her.
Finally, the woman lowered her head, and looked at the man standing before her.
Leo started putting the things that he had just learned a few seconds ago through a simple search, into action.
He raised his right hand, and made a few gestures.
"Did I do it right? It should be the correct sign language of the galaxy, right?" He wondered after he finished using the broken sigh language.
Meanwhile the woman simply raised a brow, looking at the man who was making weird gestures towards her. He looked a little crazy in her eyes.
Leo was still unaware that the woman could hear perfectly fine.
More importantly, she didn't know any sign language. And even if she did, she wouldn't have understood his gesture. He was using the wrong sign language after all.
The woman opened her lips, and asked, "What are you doing?"
"It's sign language since you can't hear," Leo answered without thinking much, but he immediately stopped and started typing something on his phone.
He started making a new set of gestures to convey what he had just said, albeit wrong again.
"Who said that I can't hear?" The woman tilted her head sideways, confusion flashing across her beautiful blue eyes.
"You can hear fine?" Leo was taken aback at the revelation. If that was the case, why did he have to search and use sign language in the first place. Now he truly felt a little embarrassed.
"I can...?" the woman answered.
Initially, she was so distracted in her own thoughts about Necropolis that she hadn't heard Leo talking to her. But when he appeared before her, she was pulled out of her thoughts.
"Wait, aren't you the person that had performed that trick on the stage?"
It took her a moment before the realisation set in, and she recognized Leo.
"Cough, y-yeah. I did that magic trick," Leo said, almost biting his tongue as he remembered that moment when he had accidentally appeared in the middle of the stage.
"What are you doing outside? Isn't the Auction still ongoing?" Selene asked Leo, slightly intrigued by this man who had approached her.
Normally, even if she was in a disguise, hiding her divine, ordinary people would still subconsciously try to avoid her instinctively.
Meanwhile, this person had just casually approached her, as if he couldn't feel anything.
Either he had really bad instincts when it came to danger, or he was different in some ways. At least that was her initial impression.
"Shouldn't I be asking you the same question," Leo reacted, but he still answered. "Then again, I guess your answer would be the same. After all, the Auction was quite boring. It'll probably only get fun when the Lotus will be brought forth."
"Are you also trying to get your hands on the Celestial Lotus? I'm afraid ordinary people will not be able to get it. You should give up," the woman sighed, as she again raised her head towards the sky.
'Hmm? Why would I try to get my hands on something I'm selling?' Leo thought, but he didn't express it out loud.
"Yeah. If I'm not wrong, it'll probably be one of the two ancient houses that will get it," he said, shaking his head. "It would still be a fun bidding war to witness."
"Why do you think it'll be one of the two ancient houses? Aren't there three Ancient Houses?" Selene asked, growing a little curious. "What makes you so certain?"
'Because only two of them will be attending?' Leo said in his mind, but was careful enough to hide this from her.
After all, he couldn't let anyone know that he was the one from the Ancient House of Necropolis, or at least a member by association.
"Shall we talk while walking? Isn't it boring to stand in the same place?" Leo asked, changing the topic.
His feet started moving, as he walked through the row of flowers, accompanying Selene under the moonlight.
