The entire world had started spinning, as Leo fell forward, his sight becoming blurry. It took a moment before pain started setting in, originating from the sight of impact.
He fell on the tiles, merely a few feet away from the feet of the two Monarchs.
Fortunately, even though the protection of the barrier didn't completely resist the impact, it did weaken it. The pain, despite being intense, wasn't enough to completely knock him out.
Even though his head was spinning, he was still able to stay conscious, albeit on the floor.
He didn't expect to be attacked right away, especially since he was representing Necropolis. Was the relationship between the two sides so bad that they didn't even want to give him a chance to speak?
However, the more he thought about it, the less it made sense. Selene and Valeroth were standing before him. None of them had moved even an inch, so they definitely weren't the one who attacked him.
The attack came from behind him. So who? Who attacked him?
"What do you think you're doing," Selene asked, but the question wasn't directed at Leo. Instead, it was directed at the person who had attacked him.
"That was... unexpectedly easy?" A voice came from behind Leo.
Leo couldn't recognise that voice, even after trying his best. It clearly didn't belong to anyone he had met before, which was quite surprising.
It clearly wasn't the voice of the person that was accompanying Valeroth. It also didn't belong to Lyra, who Leo had initially thought to be the most likely to strike him since she believed him to be a human.
The voice was strange. Just from the voice alone, it was impossible to even guess if it belonged to a woman, or a man.
Leo wanted to push his body up, and check who had attacked him. But for now, he remained on the ground, pretending to have been passed out.
Since the negotiations were out of the way, there was only one option left. That was to try to get his ass out of here.
His hands, that were on the ground, trembled a little as he raised a finger, making a gesture that no one was paying attention to.
"He better not be late. There's only so far I can drag this."
The gesture that he made wasn't meant for the people around him. It was meant to be detected by the Necropolis Ship, which was observing him from beyond the space.
Once he sent the signal, the Necropolis Ship became active again. Even though all its paths were blocked, making it unable to retreat, it didn't matter.
Since things had escalated, what matters the most was to survive. He couldn't let himself be taken hostage, or have his identity uncovered.
"How long has it been since I saw someone from Necropolis in the open?" The unfamiliar voice came again, as the footsteps drew closer.
With his blurry vision, and without raising his head, Leo was only able to see the feet of the person that had arrived before him, standing next to the two Monarchs.
The person was wearing fancy black boots that didn't have a speck of dust on them. The only other thing that could be seen was the bottom part of their overcoat, which was almost touching the floor.
"Hmm? Is that Voldred's Sword on your back? You must be quite important to him, to be given this sword."
The person reached out their hand, to touch the sword on Leo's back. However, the moment their fingers were about to touch the sword, Leo moved.
His hand swiftly moved to the hilt of his sword, as he rolled his body sideways, swinging it towards the hands of the person.
The person lightly flicked the attack, and the sword had failed to leave even a single scratch mark on his finger.
"Are you really an Elder from Necropolis? You're so weak that even that sword feels like a waste in your hand," the person looked at his hand, with only their gloves being lightly torn.
"Who says I'm from Necropolis? I'm just a distraction, and I've finished my task." Leo raised his hand, showing a middle finger to the blurry figures before him.
Just then, a beam was fired from the Necropolis Ship, shrouded in spatial essence. Someone else was teleporting down.
However, that person didn't teleport before them. The target of teleportation was the stage inside the auction house where the Celestial Lotus was being carried away.
"A distraction... No wonder you were so weak. So your target was Lotus..." Voldred chimed in, as his figure flickered. "You're stupid, aren't you? Do you think you can take that Lotus away now that we already know?"
The unknown voice said, as the person also disappeared. The two figures returned to the stage, where the spatial energy had teleported to.
The only person that was left behind, was Selene, who was watching Leo on his knees, holding that sword firmly.
"Are you...?" she asked, but just then, Leo pushed his body up...
This time, another beam came down from the ship. However, it wasn't teleportation but an attack that was truly capable of pulverising a planet.
Leo didn't aim to kill people here. But that was precisely why he made that attack, because he knew that the person who could stop that attack and save this planet was right before him.
Just as he expected, Selene's expressions fluctuated, as she looked at the sky. The target of the attack was the core of the planet, far away from the Auction House.
She looked back at Leo, before her figure also disappeared. In the next instant, she appeared millions of miles away, as a beam as large as a continent fell from the sky.
She raised her hand, the ten wings on her back shining even more brighter than ever. In that moment, she used her divine powers to cast a shield that was large enough to cover the entire planet.
At the same time, the two ships from Seraphim and Nephilim had also attacked Necropolis Ship with an attack just as powerful.
Leo was breathing heavily, as he rubbed the back of his head which was still hurting. Fortunately, the minor healing feature of the cloak had started to help him recover, especially his vision.
"Activate full defence!" Leo exclaimed, seeing the entire sky turning bright like the sun had just risen again.
It looked like a full blown war had started, something that he knew he would lose if he didn't come up with a better idea. And that idea, he did get.
