I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 89: Unfortunately that's not today

As soon as the red haired man stopped speaking, Leo started feeling a sharp pain. His blood started burning, and the pain was only increasing.

After a long time, he was feeling like he might actually die if he didn't do anything. Subconsciously, his instincts kicked in and his hand reached out towards the sky.

However, just as he was about to call forth the Necropolis Sword, something flickered in the corner of his eyes.

It was as if the lightning bolt had fallen from the sky, and the next second, a foot connected with the face of the red haired man.

The red haired man's figure was sent flying sideways. His eyes had widened in shock, even as he was in the air. His body fell on the ground and slid across the ground for hundreds of meters before coming to a half.

Meanwhile, at the place where the red haired man was standing, another figure was present. It was a man, his foot was still in the air at the point where he had connected with someone's face.

"That felt good..." The man lowered his leg, even as the Hero Tower logo shone under the hue of blazing flames in the background.

Leo was also feeling much better as the man was sent flying. It was as if the force trying to burn his blood had abruptly stopped.

"You are... Lightning?" Leo mumbled, recognising the man that had arrived.

"The one and only..." Lightning's voice came before his body disappeared again, leaving only a trail of lightning behind.

Lightning rushed towards the red haired man that had started getting up.

The red haired man clenched his fist and slammed the ground, making the entire city tremble as if there was a major earthquake.

Parts of the road sank while other parts rose, making the surface uneven.

Lightning's feet struck against something, and his figure was also sent flying, due to his speed being so high.

Fortunately, before he could land face first off the ground, a spear fell from the sky, landing right before Lightning.

Lightning reached out his hand and grabbed the spear that had stabbed on the ground. He used the spear, and the speed to swing around, launching his body back.

If anything, it even boosted his speed even more as he struck the red haired man with his feet once more, sending him flying one more time.

At the same time, a robed man, wearing sunglasses landed on the ground, as if he had also fallen from the sky.

"Lancer?" Leo mumbled, looking at the newly arrived guest.

He raised his head, and saw a few glimpses of Hero Tower's ship hovering above the clouds.

Lancer grabbed his spear, and pulled it out of the ground while still keeping his other hand in his pocket.

"Are you alright?" A voice came from behind Leo.

Leo looked back, and saw a dark haired man hovering behind him, a few feet above ground.

The man was shrouded in a golden aura, looking absolutely surreal like a god.

"It looks like we are late..." Blaze looked back at the burning building, before turning back to Leo. "Fortunately, it's not too late."

"Lightning... Leave them to us. Check inside the building to see if there are any survivors!"

A woman jumped out of the ship, floating next to the clouds.

Her eyes shone in a beautiful silver hue as she raised her hand. The sky roared, following her commands.

The clouds in the sky turned dark, and within a few seconds, the first drop of rain fell on the burning building.

It was followed by more raindrops as the rain intensified, yet only falling over the burning building, as if someone was carefully controlling them.

"Fine! I'll see if anyone can still be saved. I'm sure you guys handle the rest. Especially since these people aren't as dangerous as the weird young man we faced before.

Lightning rushed inside the building, disappearing in the flames.

The red haired man stood up, and placed his dislocated jaw in place with a forceful push.

He looked around, and saw that they were surrounded by the Hero Tower.

There were at least twenty heroes around them, and he could feel that more were present in the ship above them.

"We are retreating..." he said.

"What? We can still take them. Do you want us to run away from these ants?" One of the five strangers retorted, cracking his knuckles.

"No, we are done here. Our mission was never to kill the authorities of this world. If we did, the Galactic Union would be sent to investigate. It can spiral out of control. We are returning, that's an order!"

The red haired man raised his voice, and firmly stated.

"You think you can leave after coming here?" Blaze asked, his voice cold like a block of ice.

It was the second time that otherworlders had messed around on earth, and he was really pissed off.

"Unfortunately for you, you can stop us. Earth is still a backwards planet after all. Let me show you something nice..."

The red haired man brought out a black paper from his pocket, which had a strange formation carved on it.

The others also did the same.

"This..." Blaze didn't know what this was, but he could feel immense magical power coming from that talisman.

"If we meet under better conditions, we can fight to our heart's content. Unfortunately, that can't be today." The red haired man tore off the paper, even as Blaze appeared before him.

Blaze's hand simply passed through his afterimage as the man disappeared. The others had also disappeared.

Even the space sealing barrier that they had activated around earth wasn't useful in stopping those people which made Blaze furious.

While everyone was fighting outside, Leo was growing more and more confused. What was happening? Who were these outsiders? Why did they try to kill him? Were they behind this fire?

They weren't from earth, and they could escape from right under Blaze's nose even as all of earth's defensive mechanisms were on. They could only be from a world that was middle rank or higher.

"Are you sure you want to go against me?"

At this moment, these words were floating around Leo's head. These were the words that he had heard from a certain someone.
