I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 98: Stealthy... or not...

"Now that I'm done here, I should quickly make my way back to the Auction. Let's see how much that Lotus is going to sell for."

After Leo went out of the Drones' oversight, he activated the teleportation of the Necropolis Ship, and his figure disappeared like it never existed in the first place.

As the Necropolis Ship didn't use any weapons, it was able to stay off the radar from start to the end. Within seconds, it created a Spatial Rift and entered, going forward on its journey to the planet where the Auction was going to be taking place.

Along the way to the Auction House, Leo was constantly checking on the condition of Picollo.

Fortunately, the man was long out of danger and he was recovering fast. His injuries were also superficial, and because of the suit, he hadn't suffered any major burns.

Unfortunately the same couldn't be said about other researchers that had lost their lives.

To take care of the families of those that had died, Leo had dug straight into his personal account. He grabbed those family credits that were enough to last them a lifetime even if they just didn't do anything.

He also promised them that at least one member from their family will be given a job in the Alpha Corp in the future.

He knew that money couldn't bring back the ones that had lost their lives, but it could at least make the lives of those that were left behind a little more comfortable.

Ten million credits from his personal savings, and all of them were given to the family members of the deceased.

After that, Leo barely had any personal funds left for himself. However, he did have the treasures that he had received from Necropolis, which he was planning to auction, albeit not at once.

For now, he had only brought out one item from the huge treasure trove that was kept in his storage ring. It was the Celestial Lotus.

Even he didn't understand why Celestial Lotus was suddenly so popular. It was said that even the Ancient Families wanted the Celestial Lotus.

"Since Necropolis gave that to me like it was that leftover trash, they shouldn't mind if I sold it, right?" he wondered.

The money that he received from selling the Celestial Lotus was the deciding factor. If he couldn't get enough, he would have to bring out a few more treasures, which might put a target on his back.

However, if he did get a lot of credits, then he might just be seen as a lucky guy that accidentally found a lotus which was in demand.

In any case, the future of his bank depended on this auction. And he wanted to be there when it took place.

Fortunately, he was assigned his own private room since he was the one who had provided such an important thing to the auction house.

Even though the auction house only took ten percent of the proceedings, the place was expecting a lot of benefits, but only if the auction was completed successfully.

"Is this the right place?"

The Necropolis Ship arrived in the vicinity, and Leo was immediately at a loss for words as he looked outside.

There were two ships that were as grand as the Necropolis Ship. And they weren't hiding their presence either, unlike him.

The Ships stood long overlords in the space, where other ships were even scared to fly closer, worried about accidentally scratching the ship of Ancient Houses.

"I guess the rumor was true. Ancient Houses do want the Celestial Lotus, excluding Necropolis."

He was a little hesitant, as if he was worried. Necropolis Ship had great stealth, but was it enough to fool the ships of a similar class?

"How close can we get to the ships of other Ancient Houses without getting detected?" Leo asked the ship's systems which immediately started calculating.

"We have long crossed that safe range. The Ships have already detected us. Would you like to attack the enemy ships?" The Necropolis Ship's system asked, as it gave a big red option of the screen to launch an attack.

"Y-you... Why are you so eager to fight? Do you want to cause a diplomatic incident between the Ancient Houses?" Leo asked in disbelief.

"Should I self-destruct to avoid a Diplomatic Incident?" The Ship's system asked, as it gave a second option to self destruct.

Now there were two options on the screen. One was to attack the ships of Nephilim and Seraphim with world destruction class weapons. And the other was to simply self destruct.

"Umm... Can't we not do either?" Leo asked, looking at the screen weirdly. "Since we are already detected, let it be. There's no need to escalate. I doubt they would want things to escalate either."

Leo took a deep breath and sighed. "As long as I just don't make an appearance as an Envoy, what can they do? They won't just infiltrate this ship, right?"

Although he said it, he wasn't quite sure either. He was just hopeful.

There was only one thing he was certain about. It was that he definitely didn't want to meet the descendant of the Ancient Houses while pretending to be an Envoy.

At the moment, he was just here as the person who wanted to sell his lotus. Nothing more. There was no need to go out of his way.

"Teleport me down. Though can you make sure that at least my teleport location can't be traced by those ships?" Leo asked the ship.

"Affirmed. Instructions received. I will teleport you down where you can't be detected." The Ship's system answered

Space particles surrounded Leo, and within seconds his body disappeared.

A few more seconds passed, and Leo started regretting his decision of telling the ship to teleport him where his teleportation co-ordinates wouldn't be detected.

The location chosen was definitely not what he had in mind. No, it was something that he couldn't have imagined even if he wanted to.

Because he... was teleported to the middle of the Stage when the Auction had just started, especially when everyone's attention was on the stage.
