Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start

Chapter 132: Crawling Darkness

All Rion could see was darkness.

He didn't know where he was or how much time had passed. Heck, he didn't even know if he was still on his feet or not.

Everything seemed to have vanished from existence and he couldn't make sense of anything.

The last thing that he remembered was getting engulfed by The Remnant's ghostly purple flame, and in the next moment, he was here.

As the darkness crawled around him, he began to think.

"Was that the Corrupted Abysmal Flame?" He questioned himself, but he had nothing to prove his conclusion correct.

"Father must be fighting with them," he mumbled, and the memory of The Remnant coming to meet him in the body of a child resurfaced in his head.

They had come to him on their own and bargained that he should follow them if he wanted them to halt for now.

Haden had told him not to listen to them, but Rion decided otherwise. The main reason he had followed them was that he didn't want that child to get hurt any further, but he had never thought that The Remnant would be able to do something like this.

However, he wasn't scared. Not even a bit, actually; he just had to wait until Haden dealt with The Remnant's current body, and then he would be free from wherever he was.

He looked around curiously, and suddenly a wet squeak reached his ears.

The sound was as if flesh was being mixed.

He narrowed his eyes, glanced within the darkness and mumbled, "Did it just move?"

Just as those words left his lips, the darkness around him began to tremble violently.

He felt like every part of him was shaking. He looked around with an erratic expression and stammered, "What the hell is going on?"

Suddenly, red light fell on him as the darkness cracked, and Rion's gaze landed on a soul-chilling scene.

Beneath him was a jagged ground full of countless monsters that looked similar to kareths, but unlike kareths, they were more erratic, hungrier, and each one of them was no weaker than a two-horned.

"What the hell is this?" He stammered, and suddenly his world shifted as he fell toward those monsters like a ripe fruit falling from a tree.

He checked his surroundings with a deeply troubled expression, and his gaze fell on the ominous yet beautiful red moon that filled the sky of the dark, vicious world beneath him.

He fell into a daze as he looked at the red moon and it suddenly turned towards him.

Rion blinked in confusion, and the moon blinked in return.

A shiver ran down Rion's spine, and the red moon spoke in his head.

<O...flame...who...art...thou?>

Just as Rion heard the voice of the red moon, he felt like his head was cracking apart, and his mind went erratic.

Thoughts that weren't his and emotions that shouldn't exist began to flood his mind.

He tried to call out his aura, but he had none of it.

His eyes trembled, and he finally noticed that he was no longer a human but one of the monsters that were filling the ground.

He looked away from the moon, and his eyes fell on an enormous tree with red leaves and dark wood, fruits that looked like dark stone with red cracks running all over them hung at the branches of the ominous tree and from them fell the profane monsters.

"Blas...ted...hell!" He screamed.

The ground appeared, and he crashed into it. Pain flooded throughout his body as his flesh split apart and his bones cracked, but he was still alive.

He tried to think, but each thought came with endless others that weren't his.

He stopped thinking and tried to push himself up, but his body didn't move.

He frowned, and a few minutes later, his body stood up by itself.

His eyes went wide, and he muttered, "This... this is... not me...?"

From the beginning, the monster that he was inhabiting wasn't him.

His body looked around as if confused, and suddenly a monster much bigger than his body leapt at it.

"KRAAAAA!" His body screamed, and he watched as it tried to fight against the bigger monster with all of its might, but it was simply too weak.

The bigger monster tore its limbs apart, and now it lay on the ground with dark red blood pouring out of its wound, but it still tried to move and kill the monster before it.

Rion felt it.

Its hunger was way more than any other monster. Hunger of strength, of power and of life.

Suddenly, the ominous red light of the red moon was pushed back as a gold luminous crystal appeared before its maw.

It looked at it with its deeply ravenous eyes, opened its maw wide and ate the spark.

A golden glow wrapped around it, and it exploded into bits.

Golden cracks filled the pieces of its body.

Rion's eyes widened as they fell into golden dust, and he mumbled, "This... This is similar to my... assim...ilation with...the Immortal Body Skill... book..."

The dust moved and took the shape of a humanoid monster.

The bigger monster that was thrown by the explosion leapt at the humanoid monster, but just as it reached it, a fragile purple flame drifted out of the humanoid monster.

Just as the bigger monster and the flame touched each other, the flame clung to the bigger monster like a hungry beast and began to eat.

Within a few moments, the bigger monster disappeared.

Its eyes gleamed purple, and the strength that it never had before now coursed through its body.

It looked up at the red sky and roared.

Its roar was weak but enough for the moon to look at it.

The humour monster gave a glance at the moon. Dashed towards the nearby monsters, and its purple flame devoured them.

Rion watched everything in a state of daze as even thinking was impossible for him, and suddenly a sound rang in his head.

[Ding!]
