Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start

Chapter 134: Descendant of War

"Believe? I was the one who enlightened others about it."

The Remnant declared with their dark katana pointed at Haden.

Haden's expression darkened, and he mumbled, "You were the cause of everything that has happened to us?"

As he spoke, his aura, which was similar to flames, began to turn heavy.

They sneered, "That was nought but the punishment that the faithless, such as thee, deserve."

"I see..." Haden whispered under his breath and exhaled deeply as if a long-carried burden had finally been lifted from his shoulders.

"It was a useless thought from the beginning," Haden said, and thought, 'The Myth.'

Red viscose aura flooded out of Haden in tidal waves as he muttered in a voice that sounded ancient,

"Varzath."

The world shuddered.

Serpentine fissures ran out from his feet, and the ground screamed violently as enormous, dark mountains that seemed to reach the sky erupted out of the cracks.

The Remnant staggered back and fell on a knee as an ominous red eye took the place of the sun.

The Remnant looked at the eye and stated, "Varzath… the domain of the First God of War."

Their cruel smile disappeared, they stood up to their feet and praised, "It seems thou hast not yet discovered thy true path. Hadst thou possessed the spark as thy son does, I would have used thee as my ultimate clothing."

Haden looked in their eye and said, "I always wanted to work with you to kill them, but it seems to be nothing more than my wishful thinking."

A dry chuckle escaped him, and he added, "Even though we strive for the same path, your means do not uphold my beliefs."

"These beliefs of thine are nought but shackles that bind thee, keeping thee from attaining a state above any that has been reached within the past eon," The Remnant stated and took one final glance at the red eye before they mumbled,

"The World."

All of the purple miasma that they had collected during the previous exchange spread out and began to swirl under their feet.

Bubbling echoed throughout the area as the ground around them turned into a dark swamp, the trees dried out and turned crooked, the sky bled darkness, and the air was filled with the purple miasma.

Haden didn't move, not because he didn't want to or couldn't, but because he was using his aura to deal with the other bodies of The Remnant while they got ready to end this here.

At the moment, Haden, Valak, Jura, Sovra, Haria, Morvak and many others were fighting the other bodies of The Remnant.

Fwoomf!

Heavy ghostly purple flames erupted from their dark katana, and they swung it in a wide arc.

ALL DEVOURING SWORD — MITHRA'S MAW!

A slash of purple flames shot from the sword and twisted into an enormous maw that leapt towards Haden

Haden's aura solidified around him, and he stepped towards them with an icy look.

The maw's fangs fell at him, and the air exploded as they met Haden's aura.

Cracks appeared at the aura around him, the aura gathered at the heel of his spear, and he swung it at them.

AZURE ASCENDING SPEAR — IMOOGI'S TAIL WHIP!

His aura took the form of a giant immogi and flicked its tail at the maw and The Remnant.

The tail crashed into the maw, and it gnawed at the tail for a moment before its teeth cracked and the tail broke through it.

The Remnant raised their katana, purple miasma thickened around it, and they swung.

The spear and katana met one another.

Sparks flew out as they ground against each other, and The Remnant declared, "Thy struggle is worthless, descendant of war."

Haden's aura turned heavier, the ground beneath them began to sink under their pressure, and he replied, "That remains to be seen."

The Remnant scoffed, "Do not forget — no matter what, it is only I, the Remnant, that remains."

Suddenly, Haden jumped back, and his aura flew upwards, and an aura dome enclosed both of their domains.

The Remnant felt something amiss. They searched for their other bodies but found nothing.

They looked at him with a surprised expression and thought, 'Wert thou fighting my bodies, even as thou foughtest me…?'

Not all of Remnant's body held equal strength. Each one had a varying amount of miasma and The Remnant's will in them, so whoever had the most of their will became their true body.

"There is no need to continue this any further," Haden declared and raised his spear.

The aura around him twisted at various spots, and five enormous eastern red aura dragons appeared behind him.

The Remnant raised their sword, ghostly purple flames and miasma flooded out and swirled into the form of a black phoenix.

AZURE ASCENDING SPEAR — SUMMIT'S MEET!

ALL DEVOURING SWORD — PHOENIX'S DANCE!

The dragons and the phoenix flew towards each other.

They met, a blinding light came from their contact, and the world fell silent for a single heartbeat.

Badump!

The world shook. The sky tore open, and a gargantuan fissure split the red-and-black mountains in two.

Flames erupted, scorching the earth and reducing all life to ashes as they poured out, colliding with the aura dome.

Cracks spidered across its surface. Haden stood atop the mountain of Varzath, staring down at The Remnant, whose half-body had been reduced to ash, and the other half was on the verge of collapse.

The last bit of miasma clung to them, and they laughed.

"Khh… heh… hahaha...Thou wert still holding back...? Hahaha…"

Their grin turned faint, their eyes turned lifeless, and they fell into ashes.

Haden stared at the devastating scene before him, and the mountain beneath him began to sink as he dismissed his domain.

He glanced at the spot where The Remnant used to be and turned towards the south. His eyes pierced through everything and landed on the purple flames that were swirling around Rion.

His grip tightened around his spear.

He took a step and disappeared from the spot.

The descendant of war had won.
