Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 192: Part Of The Bigger Board

'Did the little fucker set us up?! He claimed that the only obstacle we would face is a single Master, not three Grandmasters that are clearly superior to us!' The woman Grandmaster thought, her heart beating irregularly.

"Why are you two here?" Michael asked with unnatural coldness.

Ughm!

The short man, the other Early Grandmaster, cleared his throat tactfully before speaking.

"The two of us have been searching for a cafe that seemed to have been making rounds on social media. Is this perhaps the place?" The man asked.

"Did you not notice the closed sign?" Michael replied, not dropping his guard. After all, there was no way he would believe two Grandmasters would just casually enter their store.

"Is… that so?" The short man blinked several times, feigning ignorance.

"Then please forgive our ignorance." For the first time in his life, the man bowed at a 90-degree angle, showing his remorse.

Gripping the hand of his teammate, the man said in a demanding tone. "Darling, it looks like they are closed. Today isn't the day."

"Y—Yea, sorry for the inconvenience." The woman bowed as well before leaving the store in a hurry.

"What was that about?" Isabella muttered in confusion. The change in the demeanor of the soldiers around the table alerted her, yet in the end nothing seemed to have happened.

"Some morons, nothing new." Scarlett shrugged, unfazed. If her brother was next to her, she knew that there was nothing to be afraid of.

Meanwhile, the two Early Grandmasters that luckily escaped with their lives felt their hearts racing.

"How did it go?" Samuel, who had been watching from afar, approached them with an arrogant smile.

Exchanging glances, the two Grandmasters glared at the arrogant young master in fury.

"W—Wait, why are you coming closer—"

Boom!

Interrupting him, the two hired mercenaries began to mercilessly beat Samuel to a bloody pulp.

"You fucking imbecile! Waste of air! Disgrace to humanity! Dirty pig!"

Cursing in anger, the two Grandmasters made sure to inflict as much pain on their employer as they could while still keeping him alive.

"A single master says the fucker!" The woman bellowed, spitting on Samuel, who lay helpless on the ground. "If I see your mug again, you are dead! You hear me?!"

Barely conscious, Samuel struggled to his feet after the two Grandmasters left.

"I—I don't understand… What went wrong?" He began to cry as he limped silently towards the quarters of the Wang family.

Of course a certain pair of eyes had observed the whole encounter.

"Good." Michael nodded in approval. Since Samuel had resorted to hiring mercenaries and had been mercilessly beaten by them in the end, it meant his usual bodyguards were nowhere to be found.

Momentarily, Michael felt his soul stir. Devil's Tongue, residing within him, urged him to kill Samuel. However, now wasn't the time for that. Michael wasn't merely planning to get rid of the man but the Wang family as a whole. For that to come true, he needed Samuel alive… After all, he was the perfect pawn.

'For the crime of harassing my family, I will break you. Using your own stupidity against you, I shall end your whole family and everything you hold dear. Until you lie truly broken, realizing that you brought ruin upon your own bloodline, you shall not rest… Your suffering has just begun.' Michael thought emotionlessly, going back to the cafe.

Now that he knew Samuel didn't have his usual guards, it meant that the Wang's rivalry had officially begun.

From now on, Michael's family wouldn't be harassed by the man any longer.

"Are you sure you were fine going after them alone, Boss?" Richard asked, regretting that Michael hadn't taken him along to witness what he was sure would be an entertaining sight.

"It's fine. Now let's go back to our discussion." Michael answered nonchalantly.

With Samuel no longer being a problem, it was time to discuss where they would be departing.

"Honey…" Isabella mumbled in dejection, taking her son for a hug. "Are you sure you want to go to war again? Thanks to your efforts we have enough money; the doctors say that your father could eventually wake up from his coma. What would I tell him if you aren't here with us?"

Michael shook his head. 'The doctors may claim whatever they wish. But they aren't able to help him regardless of how much money I throw at them.'

Before he could answer, Scarlett interjected.

"He isn't doing this just out of obligation, Mom. It's his choice, and I support him."

Heaving a pained sigh, Isabella let go.

"I know… This is just my greedy nature not wanting to let go of my son." She admitted.

"Fear not!" Ava puffed her chest in pride. "We got his back. There is nothing that will happen to your son!"

Richard nodded in agreement. "I have yet to see the Boss crack under pressure… Honestly, I would be more worried for his enemies."

"Couldn't have put it better myself." Victoria nodded.

A beaming smile spread across Claire's face. "Indeed, we know that he cares about his family. He wouldn't leave you alone."

"At least he has a dependable crew." Isabella giggled before rising to her feet.

"Today we shall feast in your names!" She clapped her hands together.

Making use of the moment, the crew weren't humble, eating to their heart's content. Michael contacted Leo and Amelia, inviting them to come. Unsurprisingly, they agreed in a flash.

Just like that, Michael's crew was ready to head towards Venus with the intent to help the war effort.

"Before you go, I want to make sure of something!" Scarlett proclaimed, isolating Ava, Victoria, and Claire.

"What is it that you want to talk about?" Claire asked, puzzled by the sudden secrecy.

"Oh, nothing serious." Scarlett answered with a mischievous smile.

"Just making sure… You all love Michael, right?"

"..."

Taken by surprise, the three women couldn't help but avert their gazes.

"Hehe…" Scarlett giggled. "You know, with the documentary, there is no shortage of women that visited our store to ask him for his number… We haven't spent that much time together, but I like you all. So I am going to give you some advice."

Like a little demon, she crept closer, whispering in their ears.

"If you aren't honest with your feelings, you just might miss your chance."

Masking her smirk, Scarlett waved at them devilishly.

"But don't pay too much attention to my warning. I am simply a 16-year-old girl. What could I possibly know?"

Getting ready to bid farewell, Isabella noticed that the three girls acted awkwardly, their charming faces getting rosy, while simultaneously her daughter had a devilish grin.

"Scarlett, did you do something?"

Meeting the gaze of her mother, Scarlett giggled. "Just give a little push… Nothing more."

"Oh…?" It didn't take long for Isabella to connect the dots. Patting her daughter on the head, she exclaimed.

"You know, with the cafe skyrocketing in popularity, I just might double the money I give you."

"Hehe…"

After everyone gathered, Michael glanced at his family. "If there is something amiss… anything at all, call me back without hesitation."

"Sure, honey." Isabella nodded with a smile.

"Also…" He paused for a moment. "I did show you the basics of cultivation. You can meditate to get stronger when you are free… But promise me you won't lose yourselves in a mindless pursuit of strength."

After his mother and sister assured him that wouldn't happen, his crew departed towards their next destination…

Venus.
