Walking calmly through the corridors of the administrative building was a figure clad in a black mask with intricate golden patterns drawn across its surface.
He had his eyes fixed on the humans who were waiting right outside the building.
It was the team that had been sent out to raid the Orc Settlement; their leader had returned and was now scolding the friend of the soldier that they had left behind.
"You go back and bring that idiot! Else the boss won't pay us anything!" the leader yelled, the vein on his neck clearly visible.
The soldier flinched. "Yes, sir, I'll do that," he quickly replied, swallowing hard.
Mask heard the entire conversation, but he didn't seem to care about what they were saying. He walked to a stop in front of the group, and his gaze shifted to the orc that they had captured.
The orc was left in the corner, bloodied and still knocked out cold.
He calmly walked toward the orc and then picked him up, carrying him on his shoulder. He quickly caught the attention of the team, and they all turned toward him.
"Hey! Who the fuck are you?" the leader scowled at him.
"Oh! Nothing, Sir Samxon only told me to get the orc," he calmly said with a shrug.
The leader looked at the masked figure suspiciously. "How come I've not seen you around here before?"
Just as he was about to reply, his eyes narrowed as he saw the figure approaching from above.
"Well, that's my cue. I'll enjoy the show from far," he said as he quickly made his way toward the administrative building fences.
"Stop that bastard!" the leader roared, taking the lead, but just as he was about to move, he felt a cold breeze blow past him and an intense chill, like nothing he had ever felt before.
"What's this feeling?" he thought, slowly turning his stiff neck back to see what was the cause of the unsettling feeling.
The entire team looked up in unison, and as they did, they all saw one figure with bloodshot eyes staring down at them like an ancient deity.
Fear gripped their very souls under those deep crimson orbs.
"Who is that?... No, what is that?" the leader stared at Akhil's figure in complete confusion.
He could see an orc, but that was not what he felt inside. Those crimson eyes held no reason, only chaos.
It was like a predator staring down at his prey; a feral feeling arose within them. Something within them screamed to run, to protect themselves, and the leader moved instinctively. Without asking any questions, he raised his gun, quickly firing straight at the figure above.
All the others did the same, not minding to ask any questions. At the moment, protecting themselves was the priority.
The sound of bullets went off in an instant, filling the air. It was nonstop firing.
But the humans were filled with even more dread as the figure they were shooting at blurred with speed that made no sense to their human minds.
None of the bullets even touched a hair on his skin as he moved. One of the soldiers fired wildly, only stopping for a moment to search for Akhil.
He felt a cold shiver run down his spine as he felt a presence behind him.
"Arrrghh!" he roared as he turned to shoot again, but even before he could complete his motion—
Swiish!
The area above his neck suddenly vanished. His head rolled to the ground, eyes still open wide with shock as he stared at the figure with hands that morphed into sharp claws of a wolf.
His blood sprayed over the figure's face, making him look even more menacing.
The others watched as their comrade fell so easily and were momentarily stunned by the seamless death.
As the figure moved again, panic quickly surged within the group.
"Get away from me, you demon!" the leader shouted as he aimed, shooting at Akhil with rapid fire, his grip loosening slightly around his gun as cold sweat rolled down his face.
Akhil was moving so fast, and every move he made was followed by shouts and missing limbs.
The leader missed a few shots, killing his own men in the process.
Tears streamed down his eyes as he shot frantically, hoping to get one hit in, but all to no avail each time he turned, all he could find were dead bodies.
Akhil attacked one of the soldiers who dropped his gun, using a flame ability in an attempt to burn him. The flames could barely touch him when he vanished from sight, appearing behind the man.
The man felt a sharp, piercing sting as a morphed spike-hand shot straight through his back. He spat blood, barely glancing behind him to meet the cold, lifeless eyes that stared back at him.
Seizing the opportunity, the leader quickly shot at Akhil before he could pull out his arm.
A torrent of bullets flooded him as the leader shot without reason. A hysterical laughter followed as he kept shooting.
"You stupid orcs! I'll kill you just like I killed that bitch orc!" he yelled, his eyes widened with madness mixed with relief that he had finally caught the brat.
But his laughter sank in his throat as the sound of the bullets died down and he finally caught sight of Akhil.
The bullets had all hit, but none of them pierced through his skin, and the ones that managed to, he could see the holes closing slowly.
Akhil let out a hot breath from his mouth as he dragged his hands out from the man's stomach.
They morphed back into his normal arms, and he turned his dark stare to the leader of the group.
When he came to the block, he was planning to meet Samxon first, but he quickly saw the group that was dressed like the man he had killed back at the camp. It didn't take any effort to guess that this was also part of the group.
Akhil fixed his gaze on the leader of the group, slowly walking toward him.
A deep red mist swirled toward him from all the soldiers he had slaughtered, their blood moving straight toward him.
The leader stumbled back, terrified, he fell on his butt, eyes wide with disbelief as he stared at Akhil, who was now completely healed from all the bullets. If it weren't for the holes in his clothes, he would have thought the bullets didn't even harm him.
The reality dawned on him. "You're a monster! Stay away from me!" he said, dragging his feet on the ground in desperation to get away from Akhil.
"I—" Blood gurgled up around his throat as Akhil mercilessly shot a blood spike straight through it.
His body fell cold to the ground, eyes still open in shock at what he had witnessed.
Akhil turned to the last soldier, who stared back at him with terrified eyes, too scared to make even the slightest move. He was covered in sweat, hands visibly shaking.
Akhil walked toward the boy calmly, his gaze hidden behind his hair. He stopped in front of him.
"Where is he?" His voice vibrated through his throat.
