Chapter 234: Negotiation and Cooperation

"How about now? Are you ready to accept my terms?"

On the darkened deck, as the blood rain in the sky had yet to fully fall, Wang Zhifan asked the figure standing not far from him, a nearly dazed silhouette.

He was addressing the captain of this Great Horn Shark ship, and the so-called terms were naturally the demands he had put forth earlier. The demands were quite harsh, but after the recent events, it was likely that someone's mindset would undergo some change.

However, contrary to what Wang Zhifan expected, the captain, who was utterly stunned, neither chose to bow in submission due to his formidable display of power nor insisted on launching one last attack against him by making everyone go all in. Instead, the captain suddenly seemed to go mad, shouting wildly.

"Monster! Monster! Everyone run! The monster is coming!!!"

Seeing this person shouting with disbelief, seemingly mentally unstable, while frantically turning around and running in the direction away from Wang Zhifan, stumbling as he headed toward the rear of the pirate ship, where ordinary pirate subordinates he was supposed to protect were located.

"Why does it feel like he's not acting... Could it be because of that huge shark I just instantly killed?"

Initially, Wang Zhifan instinctively thought the pirate captain was pretending to be crazy, trying to play a fool, but with his incredibly strong senses, he quickly realized there was a high probability that the person wasn't feigning madness but was indeed experiencing a mental breakdown.

This was mostly because he sensed the captain's aura had become highly chaotic, rendering him practically half-wasted; acting to such a believable extent seemed excessive.

He also somewhat understood what might have caused this sudden situation, likely influenced by the abrupt death of the massive shark the captain had summoned to attack him earlier.

Just by looking at the size of that shark, it was evident it couldn't be an ordinary creature. The fact that it could leap out of the sea immediately upon hearing his command to attack meant Wang Zhifan didn't believe they lacked some kind of close mental bond. Thus, one party suddenly dying and significantly affecting the other almost instantly was plausible.

"Whatever it may be… die for me!"

At this point, Wang Zhifan had little interest in figuring out the situation with the pirate captain, nor did he want to engage with a madman or masterful actor. So he immediately unleashed his Great Dream Saber Scripture's power, fiercely swinging a blade towards the captain's back!

The Dream Splendor Blade Light of the Great Dream Saber Scripture materialized once more, flashing like a dazzling illusion across the pirate ship's deck. Then, the surrounding people heard a couple of thud sounds as the pirate captain's frenzied running body, about twenty meters away from Wang Zhifan, instantaneously separated into head and torso, tumbling and falling onto the deck.

"So it really wasn't an act?"

Seeing himself finish off this not-so-weak enemy with a single strike, Wang Zhifan was actually a bit surprised. Although he had used the Menghua Blade Skill, he had prepared some measures in case the captain made a desperate struggle, but evidently, he had overestimated the opponent; the guy really had had a mental breakdown.

Having dealt with this leader, Wang Zhifan then couldn't help but glance at the other two figures standing nearby, the One-Eyed Dragon with twin swords and the tower-like strongman, who presumably held higher status among the remaining pirates.

"Are you two willing to accept my terms?"

He slightly turned his body, on the dimly lit deck, continuing to ask the remaining two.

The One-Eyed Dragon elder holding twin swords didn't hesitate much when responding to his query, evidently being the first to recover from the shocking scene of the blade light slaying the sea monster.

"I am indeed not a match for you, sir, and can't even harm you, but I'm quite old. I'll pass on being a dog; if you want to kill, do it quickly. If I blink, I lose."

The old man was quite straightforward, knowing he was no match for Wang Zhifan, yet showing not a hint of fear, embodying a certain heroic sentiment of facing death without regret.

"Same goes for me."

On the other side, the towering giant over two meters tall followed suit with a matching voice, both thick and deep, sounding unlike anything a human could produce.

After saying that, he raised his hand and removed his helmet, revealing a rugged silhouette on the dim deck quite distinct from regular human heads, continuing:

"Our kind, the Crocodile Men, respect the strong, and you are far stronger than I am. Thus, my life can be at your disposal, but we Crocodile Men also value personal dignity. Rather than living as a dog, I prefer dying in combat at your hands."

"..."

After listening to the slightly tragic remarks of these two pirate experts, Wang Zhifan found himself momentarily speechless, realizing he might have misphrased things when speaking to the captain earlier, possibly due to heightened battle intent, leading to overly harsh wording.

He then contemplated briefly before tactfully saying after the two finished speaking:

"Since your captain has already been slain by me, the demands I proposed to him also need some adjustment. I can spare your lives without insulting your dignity, but you and the remaining crew must follow my orders and help me accomplish certain tasks in the coming months; otherwise, I won't stay this courteous..."
