The Miraculous Treasure Hunting System

Chapter 119. Small Vacation

"Captain, you said yesterday that we're going to stay here for a while, right?" Ed asked, rubbing his hands with anticipation.

Andre looked at Ed, who clearly didn't have good intentions this early in the morning, and narrowed his eyes.

"So?"

"Well, you know, last time, when I was investigating Vault 5, I stayed in a so-called 'haunted' house, which obviously wasn't, and the owner and I became friends. Since we're staying, I was hoping you could give me a few days' leave so I can go say a proper goodbye. Also, after being on the ship for two entire months, I'm at my limit. I need some fresh ai..."

"You just want to mess around, don't you?" Andre interrupted expressionlessly, revealing Ed's true intentions.

"Am I that easy to read?" Ed asked with fake amazement.

"You know we're wanted on this island, right? Do you have any idea how much trouble we'd face saving your ass if you got caught?" Andre spoke with his trademark poker face, as if everyone owed him money.

"First of all, have some faith in my abilities. How could I get caught by a few cannon fodder guards who barely do their jobs? And second, come on, Captain, is our crew so weak that you couldn't break me out of some random prison?"

"You're just looking for excuses. I did such a good job on the last treasure hunt; I deserve a small vacation. I became a treasure hunter to enjoy life and have adventures. If we just hunt for treasure like greedy ghosts, traveling non-stop, what's the point of that kind of life?"

Ed spoke a lot in one breath. Andre, like a strict father, stared at him with an unchanging expression, emitting an invisible pressure that grew heavier each second. Anyone seeing Andre now would wonder if he might eat Ed alive the next moment.

After a few moments of deadly silence, seeing his sternness wasn't working, Andre finally shook his head, waved his hand dismissively, picked up the document he was reading, and continued his work.

"Thanks, Captain! You're the best!" Seeing his stubborn captain had given in, Ed hurriedly thanked him before swaggering out of the cabin.

Sigh, this kid is definitely going to throw everyone into big trouble one day, thought Andre, who could see Ed's true intentions with a single glance. He could only rub his forehead in frustration.

Thankfully, he only understood the surface of Ed's thinking, that Ed might drink and look for ways to earn extra money, since he'd often boasted about making money on the street with his magic tricks. If Andre knew Ed's real goal was to fill a certain rich woman's hole, he might have locked him up and trained him to death personally to fix his character. How could he tolerate such a pervert thinking with his "little brother" all the time on a ship full of saints?

...

"How did it go?" Asked Jason, who was on the same track as Ed but lacked the courage to survive Andre's deadly stare, and could only rely on Ed to get permission.

Ed just gave him a bright, victorious smile and a thumbs-up before running toward Sankaka, whom he had already bribed for transport to the island. Even if Andre hadn't agreed, he would have run away anyway. There was no way, after such a long time without touching a woman, that he would stay and suffer on the ship when his hole... I mean goal was right before him.

Jason's eyes lit up. He first cheered loudly, so Andre would guess he was also running away, before grabbing his bag and following Ed.

"What's going on with those two?" Vanessa asked curiously, sipping herbal tea that was supposedly good for her health and skin.

"Excited to get away from the ship and cause trouble for Dad. When will they grow up?" Elena shook her head in disappointment. "And here I stayed up last night for hours adjusting their training plan."

"Hahaha, you can't blame them. We've been running all over the sea for two months, which is quite a long time. It'd be more surprising if they didn't complain or run off," Said Vanessa, who was obviously more open-minded than the workaholic "father and daughter."

After patting Elena's head, she walked back to her room, leaving a confused girl behind who wondered if something was wrong with her, since she, Ed, and Jason were the same age, yet she felt no urge to leave the ship like those two.

...

"Finally on land! No more constant shaking."

After landing, Ed first waved at Sankaka, who nodded and quickly vanished into the sea, before turning to Jason, who was grinning foolishly.

"So, what's your plan?" Ed asked as they walked toward the city.

"First, I'm going to find a good love house to release all my pent-up pressure before thinking of anything else," Jason answered excitedly.

"Hmph. Noob," Ed gave him a disdainful snort.

"Oh? What about you, Mr. Perfect? Tell me your plan. I don't believe you're going to pull off another miracle and find another treasure just randomly wandering around the island," Jason, who easily get provoked, asked with a frown.

"That's not a miracle; it's called skill. And I'm not like someone who has to pay to find a woman. Although you, blinded by jealousy, might not believe it, but the last time I was here, I had already found a girlfriend."

"Our relationship had already reached the point where we could roll in the bed. If not for that bastard clown, I would have already enjoyed her juicy body. Damn it, just thinking about it makes me feel that clown died too easy a death," Ed cursed angrily. Only he knew how many times he'd dreamed of being with Kaila, only to be scared awake at the critical moment by the clown's face.

"What?! How did you do that? I thought you were talking nonsense when you mentioned it last time!" Jason asked in disbelief. If anyone else had said it, he might have believed them, but hearing it from his best friend was simply impossible to digest. Not everyone can be happy with your friend's happiness; some get jealous as well.

"Look at this," Ed said, raising his empty hand. With a wave, a card appeared between his fingers, and with another wave, it disappeared. Then he reached behind Jason's ear and pulled out the same card.

"What did you see?" Ed asked with a smile.

"A magic trick?" Jason replied, bewildered, wondering why Ed was showing him tricks at such a critical moment.

However, hearing his answer, the smile vanished from Ed's face. He could only shake his head in disappointment while muttering, "Too green. Too green."

"But I see a dark, loveless future for you, like our cheap captain... Fool, this is the right way to get a woman's attention. You're a toucher; think from a different angle. Instead of acting like a fool using old methods, target a hot married milf with an ugly, big-bellied husband. Believe me, if you use your mouth right, you'll be moaning with happiness before nightfall."

"Targeting young girls can work, but there's too much drama. It's not worth it. In the time you waste on one young girl, you could easily charm a dozen milfs." Ed, like a patient older brother, imparted this worldly knowledge. After all, when it came to hunting milfs, all readers could bear witness that there is no better teacher than him, at least in this novel.

"Ahh, so that's how it is! No wonder all of your girlfriends, even your wife, are married!" Jason instantly gained enlightenment. His rusty brain, as if oiled, started working at full force, generating ideas on how to use his magic to impress beauties.

"Oh, and one last piece of advice: if you can impress a rich, lonely woman, you might even earn some pocket money for a job well done..."
