Chapter 724: Chapter 724: Fighting Master (Part 6)
A flash of contempt crossed Laura White’s eyes. She had assumed the Dean’s office at Veridia University would be different from her high school’s, but it seemed even this prestigious university was nothing special. Dealing with someone like Vera Xavier, who had no connections, would be a piece of cake.
She recalled the way Vera had hit her before and felt that simple expulsion would be letting Vera off too easy. Back in high school, no one would have dared to lay a hand on her. She had to return the favor.
She knew she was no match for Vera in a fight, but they were in the Dean’s office now. If Vera dared to retaliate, she would have two witnesses: the Dean and Secretary Archer. She could even get Vera sent to the police station!
With a cold smirk, she walked up to Vera and raised her hand to strike. "Time to teach you a lesson," she sneered. "Just because you have good grades doesn’t mean you’re the best... AARGH!"
Her hand never reached Vera’s face. Vera caught her wrist in a tight grip, twisted it back, and an excruciating pain shot through Laura’s arm, making her cry out.
Vera’s voice was like ice. "You’ve got some nerve, attacking someone in the Dean’s office. Laura White, what makes you so bold?"
Secretary Archer flew into a rage, pointing at Vera with an effete, limp-wristed gesture. "How dare you! It’s an honor for my lady to strike you, and you actually fought back!"
With that, he lunged at Vera. She sidestepped his attack, and with a swift kick, sent him stumbling back a step before he collapsed onto the floor with a thud.
He yelled, "Dean, did you see that? Vera Xavier is unbelievably arrogant! She dared to attack someone right in front of you! You can’t just expel her—you need to call the police and have her arrested!"
The Dean shot him a sidelong glance. "You are mistaken. The ones who initiated the attack were you and Laura White. Vera was merely acting in self-defense. And the person being expelled is not Vera Xavier. It’s Laura White!"
He then tossed the completed expulsion form at Secretary Archer. "Take Laura White and go. The most basic requirement for a student at Veridia University is to have a kind and upright heart. Someone with such a malicious character is not fit to be a student at our school!"
Unsurprised by this outcome, Vera let out a cold smirk and released her grip on Laura White’s wrist. Caught off guard, Laura stumbled and fell, landing hard on the floor.
Secretary Archer was stunned. "Dean, have you lost your mind? Do you have any idea what the consequences are for offending Mr. White?"
"I do not." The Dean’s back was ramrod straight. "But I do know my duty as a dean. A university is one of the last sanctuaries in this world, and as the Dean, I have an even greater responsibility to handle this matter with fairness and impartiality!"
"I will not allow any of our students to be wronged, nor will I allow any student of corrupt character to remain at this university. And I most certainly will not bow to so-called ’power’!"
"No matter how powerful your Mr. White is, he can’t extend his reach into Veridia University! I heard the entire story unfold right here, loud and clear. Laura White took a dislike to Vera, tried to frame her by intentionally provoking a fight, and then planned to use the White Family’s privilege to have Vera expelled, all to satisfy her own sick vanity!"
That was a perfect summary of the events. And now that it had been spoken aloud by the Dean, the official verdict was set in stone.
