Chapter 780 - 382: We’ll Just Obey

Chapter 780: Chapter 382: We’ll Just Obey

"Alright, that’s enough. Let’s get ready to depart."

Li Chang’an didn’t continue arguing with Sun Yang. He walked over to the captain’s seat, sat down, and began checking the ship’s startup procedures.

Just then, the cabin door suddenly slid open. A foppish young man in lavish clothing walked in, followed by two bodyguards in black suits.

The moment the young man entered the cabin, he frowned, a look of disgust on his face.

"This is the ship we’re supposed to take? It’s so dilapidated, isn’t it? The Interstellar Warrior Corps uses this kind of junk?"

The young man’s voice was sharp and biting, filled with dissatisfaction and ridicule.

Hearing his words, the atmosphere in the cabin instantly grew tense.

Shen Qiuyue stopped what she was doing, her gaze turning icy as she looked at the newcomer.

Sun Yang’s expression darkened as a flicker of rage flashed in his eyes.

Han Ruoxi, a little scared, hid behind Li Chang’an and peeked at the young man.

Bai Lin, however, remained focused on the control console, seemingly indifferent to everything around him.

Li Chang’an turned around. He looked at the young man standing by the door, his expression still calm.

"You must be Zhou Ze?"

He asked in a calm tone.

"Duh. Of course, it’s me. And who are you? Who’s in charge here?"

Zhou Ze waved his hand impatiently, his tone arrogant.

"I am the Captain of the Insect Hunter Squad, Li Chang’an."

Li Chang’an stood up, walked over to Zhou Ze, and extended his hand.

"Hello, Young Master Zhou. Welcome to the squad."

Zhou Ze glanced at Li Chang’an’s outstretched hand with an even more disgusted expression, showing no intention of shaking it.

"Join your squad? Don’t be ridiculous. I’m just here to assist you. Get it straight—assist, not join. A squad like yours isn’t worthy of my membership!"

Zhou Ze said arrogantly, his eyes contemptuously sweeping over Li Chang’an and his team members.

"Assisting is fine. Please, take a seat, Young Master Zhou. We’re about to depart."

Li Chang’an paid no mind to Zhou Ze’s attitude. He retracted his hand and gestured to a seat in the cabin, his voice still calm.

"Hmph. At least you know your place."

Zhou Ze snorted coldly and strode into the cabin. Surrounded by his bodyguards, he casually found a seat, crossed his legs, and maintained a disdainful expression.

"Hey, this ship of yours... can’t you get a different one? This piece of junk is really uncomfortable. If it ruins my mood and the mission gets botched, don’t you dare blame me!"

After sitting down, Zhou Ze started complaining again, his tone full of criticism.

"Young Master Zhou, this is the best transport ship the Combat Group could provide. Resources are limited, so we ask for your understanding."

Li Chang’an explained patiently, his tone calm and polite.

"Understanding? Hmph. The word ’understanding’ isn’t in my vocabulary. Forget it, I can’t be bothered to argue with you paupers. Just hurry up and get going. My time is precious!"

Zhou Ze waved his hand impatiently, urging them on.

Li Chang’an said no more. He turned back to the captain’s seat and started the ship’s engines.

The transport ship shuddered slightly and began to ascend slowly, leaving the landing pad and flying toward the Kars Mine Area.

Inside the cabin, the atmosphere was somewhat oppressive. Aside from the roar of the engines, there was only the sound of Zhou Ze’s occasional complaints.

The transport ship flew steadily, cutting through the gray, hazy skies of Lion’s Fang Star.

Through the porthole, one could see the landscape below growing increasingly desolate. The once-green vegetation grew scarcer, replaced by exposed rock and yellow sand.

Zhou Ze sat in his seat, fiddling idly with his Light Computer. He kept tsking, clearly very dissatisfied with the ship’s simple facilities.

"I’m telling you, doesn’t this dump have any decent entertainment facilities? How do people in the Interstellar Warrior Corps usually pass the time?"

he suddenly asked, his tone complaining.

No one paid him any mind. Shen Qiuyue had her eyes closed, leaning back in her chair as if resting.

Sun Yang stared out the porthole, lost in thought.

Han Ruoxi hugged a bag of snacks, eating quietly. Her gaze was evasive as she tried her best to avoid eye contact with Zhou Ze.

Bai Lin remained focused on his console, his fingers tapping ceaselessly on the virtual keyboard.

Li Chang’an sat in the captain’s seat, piloting the ship with his eyes fixed forward, as if he hadn’t heard Zhou Ze at all.

"Hey, I’m talking to you! Are you deaf?"

Seeing that no one was responding, Zhou Ze grew even more impatient, his voice rising a few notches.

"Are all you people from the Interstellar Warrior Corps this rude? Or is it that you lowlifes don’t even know what manners are?"

"Young Master Zhou, we are on a mission. Please be quiet."

Li Chang’an finally spoke. His voice was still calm, but it held a hint of barely perceptible coldness.

"On a mission? With your pathetic abilities, you think you’re fit to be on a mission? Don’t come crying to me when you run into a little trouble and piss your pants. I’ll be the one who has to save you!"

Zhou Ze sneered, his tone dripping with mockery.

"Rest assured, Young Master Zhou. We will do our best to complete the mission. You don’t need to worry."

Li Chang’an said coolly, a trace of detachment in his voice.

"Hmph. You’d better. Just make sure you don’t drag me down with you."

Zhou Ze pursed his lips and fell silent, going back to fiddling with his Light Computer, though he still muttered some complaints under his breath.

The cabin fell silent once more, the atmosphere growing even more oppressive.

The transport ship continued its flight. The scenery outside became increasingly desolate, with massive cracks and craters appearing on the ground. A gray mist filled the air. They had arrived at the Kars Mine Area.

"Target area reached. Initiating landing sequence."

Bai Lin’s calm voice broke the silence.

The transport ship began to decelerate, descending slowly through the gray mist before finally landing on a relatively flat patch of ground.

The ground was covered in gravel and grit—a scene of utter desolation. A faint smell of sulfur hung in the air, making it somewhat unpleasant to breathe.

"Tsk tsk. What a godforsaken hellhole. The environment is truly awful. The Interstellar Warrior Corps is stationed in a place like this?"

Zhou Ze stepped off the ship, immediately frowning and pinching his nose, his face a mask of disgust.

"Young Master Zhou, this is the Kars Mine Area. The environment is naturally harsh. Please excuse the conditions."

Li Chang’an said calmly as he disembarked.

"Excuse it? Hmph, I won’t excuse anything. If it weren’t for those so-called ruins, who the hell would want to come to a place like this?"

Zhou Ze snorted coldly and glanced around, his face full of impatience.

"Where are the ruins? Hurry up and take me to see them. My time is very precious!"

"Young Master Zhou, the exact location of the ruins is still unknown. We need to conduct a survey first."

Li Chang’an explained.

"A survey? You still need a survey? Is the Interstellar Warrior Corps really this inefficient? Wasting time on a survey for such a trivial matter?"

Zhou Ze’s eyes widened, his tone full of dissatisfaction.

"From what I see, you’re all a bunch of useless trash. I can’t count on you for anything. Just let me take command. I guarantee our efficiency will increase tenfold!"

"Young Master Zhou, the survey is a necessary procedure. It concerns our safety. Please cooperate."

Li Chang’an’s voice remained calm, but his gaze turned icy.

"Cooperate? Hmph. I don’t need to cooperate with you good-for-nothings. I’ll go take a look myself. I’ll probably find the ruins long before you do!"

With that, Zhou Ze ignored Li Chang’an’s attempt to stop him and started walking deeper into the mine area.

"Young Master Zhou, it’s dangerous!"

Li Chang’an shouted, trying to stop him.

But Zhou Ze paid him no mind, striding forward with his two bodyguards close behind.

"Captain, what do we do? Should we stop him?"

Sun Yang walked up to Li Chang’an, frowning as he asked.

"Don’t worry about him. Let him go."

Li Chang’an shook his head and said calmly.

"Let him make a scene. It’ll do him good to suffer a little."
