Chapter 1141: Still Trying To Ask The Emperor To Punish Bai Xifeng

Chapter 1141: Chapter 1141: Still Trying To Ask The Emperor To Punish Bai Xifeng

Even though a few of them had caught a glimpse of Cerberus earlier in the day, seeing the massive, three-headed wolf casually parading through the royal grounds a second time still sent a sharp jolt of panic through their nerves.

After all, it was not every day that one got to witness an imposing, three-headed mythical beast carrying two young maidens on its back, strolling through the sacred Royal Palace as if it owned the entire realm.

A terrified palace guard quickly scrambled off to report this brazen display straight to the Emperor.

At that moment, the Emperor was still holding court in the main assembly hall, surrounded by his high ministers and the Crown Prince, when the breathless guard burst inside to deliver the news.

As for Bai Chunhua, she had already been dismissed and sent back to her residence earlier. Though she harboured countless grievances, she had no choice but to obey the royal directive and leave.

"How dare that girl, Bai Xifeng, act with such blatant, lawless disregard right inside the imperial palace?!" Imperial Secretary Qian Zemin stepped forward, proposing with indignation, "Your Majesty, you must inflict a severe punishment upon her! Otherwise, more and more people will begin to believe that the Royal Family holds zero authority over that arrogant girl!"

The Emperor’s brow furrowed into a deep, stormy scowl.

If he actually attempted to punish that girl... wouldn’t she simply turn around and unleash her wrath upon the Royal Family?

More importantly, did he even possess the actual power to punish her in the first place?

That was the single most embarrassing, humiliating dilemma staring him in the face.

Based on his own son’s detailed account, Bai Xifeng had already risen to become a legendary, almost mythical figure through her terrifying achievements at Tianlong School.

Even the Crown Prince himself had openly admitted that if he were to engage in a true, all-out duel against Bai Xifeng, he possessed zero confidence in emerging victorious.

That admission alone was more than enough to make the Emperor hesitate in deep fear.

Bai Xifeng had grown terrifyingly stronger ever since she entered the gates of Tianlong School.

That was an undeniable, rock-solid fact that not even the proud Crown Prince could deny.

The young girl who had once been mockingly dismissed as a useless, good-for-nothing trash was no longer the frail, helpless noble lady everyone remembered in their minds.

Now, she commanded enough raw, terrifying strength to make even the supreme Royal Family think twice before daring to provoke her!

The Emperor narrowed his eyes, his knuckles turning white. He utterly detested this sickening feeling of being entirely powerless to control the situation unfolding in his own court. Yet, if he truly wanted to move against Bai Xifeng, he had to meticulously calculate every single disastrous consequence that would follow.

After all, this was Bai Xifeng they were talking about. She was the beloved daughter of the invincible Great General Bai. She commanded a terrifying, fully contracted ancient beast. She had cemented her fame as an unshakeable genius across all of Tianlong School. And, most dangerous of all, she was no longer a weak target who would meekly allow herself to be bullied without utterly destroying anyone who dared to cross her.

"Then, what kind of punishment should We bestow upon her, Imperial Secretary?" the Emperor asked, throwing the question straight back at Imperial Secretary Qian Zemin with a cool, sharp stare.

Imperial Secretary Qian Zemin certainly had not expected the Emperor to toss the hot potato right back into his lap like that. He stiffened on the spot, not daring to utter a single word to propose a concrete punishment for Bai Xifeng.

If that terrifying girl ever found out that he was the one who had whispered recommendations for her punishment into the Emperor’s ear, she might very well march straight over to his residence that very night to cause catastrophic trouble for his entire estate! If she merely came over to have a firm, verbal conversation with him, that would still be somewhat manageable. But what if she brought her colossal, three-headed contracted beast along and ordered it to tear his mansion apart?!

Who on earth would step forward to save him then? He would bet his entire fortune that not a single soul in this court would raise a finger!

Every minister standing inside the grand assembly hall held their breath, silently waiting for Imperial Secretary Qian Zemin to answer the Emperor’s direct question.

Imperial Secretary Qian Zemin could feel the suffocating, heavy pressure of all those burning gazes drilling into his back. After a few agonising moments of intense hesitation, his knees gave out, and he dropped heavily onto the marble floor.

"Your Majesty... please forgive this humble minister! I am truly foolish and lack the wisdom to determine what sort of punishment would be fitting for Young Lady Bai." Imperial Secretary Qian Zemin stammered out, wiping a bead of cold sweat from his forehead.

"Very well. It is fine. Stand up, Imperial Secretary. Today is the day my son returns to the Capital, so let us end court here. All of you may take your leave." The Emperor declared, waving his hand in an exhausted, dismissive gesture.

"We take our leave, Your Majesty!" The assembled ministers bowed down respectfully before turning to exit the grand hall in a silent procession.

They departed from the palace grounds with bitter, undisguised disappointment written all over their faces. Their elaborate grand agenda to secure Bai Xifeng as the future Crown Princess had ended in absolute, utter failure.

That headstrong girl refused to step into the role of Crown Princess no matter what grand titles they dangled before her, or how fervently they tried to coax and persuade her. It seemed this tricky matter could only be shelved for now and brought up again at a later time.
