Chapter 606: Summer

The night was dark with only the moon and the stars shining with their pale light from the sky.

Barely anything could be seen.

Lin Xuan Qi flew under the cover of the darkness and his invisibility talisman.

And when he reached the woods that were before the mountains, he descended onto the ground.

He closed his eyes and sensed around with his Spiritual Senses to make sure that there wasn’t anyone around before he deactivated the effect of the invisibility talisman.

Then, he took out his toad statue and after a glow from it, the Natal Puppet appeared in front of him.

The Natal Puppet was as tall as he was, and with the moonlight, the dark metal that the Natal Puppet was made of gave out a chilling aura from it.

Lin Xuan Qi chanted the spell from the Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques and the Natal Puppet’s dantian gave out a churning sound.

It started to move according to what he had thought about.

And in his Spiritual Sea, he would see and sense whatever it was that was in the surroundings of the Natal Puppet.

The Natal Puppet bent its knees and leaped off into the air, bringing a gust of wind with it.

Lin Xuan Qi got his hammers out from his toad statue and he threw them to the Natal Puppet.

Then, as it swung the hammers to the side, icicles shot out from the hammers towards the mountains.

Lin Xuan Qi continued and let the Natal Puppet perform all the Five-Element styles which he knew of and the Natal Puppet handled it perfectly.

He figured that the Natal Puppet was at the same cultivation level as he was, being his Natal Spiritual Artifact.

Finally, the Natal Puppet slowly descended from the air and it landed back in front of him.

He patted it on the shoulder and pondered on what was still lacking.

Other than the fact that it couldn’t use spells, talismans, and Artifacts, it was perfect.

He could maybe get a Storage Artifact for it and buy more materials for talismans in the meantime.

There must be an opportunity for him to get a soul for it somehow. He thought to himself while he kept it back into his toad statue.

After he took out another invisibility talisman and activated it, he flew into the air and headed back towards the city.

He got into the city without much fuss, with the Formation Array unable to detect his Five-Element Qi.

Having tested out the powers of the Natal Puppet, he was in a good mood when he headed back to his comfortable mansion.

Lin Xuan Qi went to bed after he washed up and slept comfortably knowing that he had something else up his sleeve now if he had to battle with another cultivator.

When he woke up, Xue Cong and the others were waiting for him in the dining hall for breakfast as usual.

"Xuan Qi, there’s some green bean soup, it’s great to have in the summer heat.

"I’ve also asked Auntie Sue to make enough for the workers, they will bring it over to the work site later." Xue Cong said to him when he sat down beside her.

"Thanks, that’s what we need." He was glad to have someone like Xue Cong helping him out with things like these.

Yue Jie also chimed in and said, "The clothes for summer are ready for you.

"I’ve also asked them to hurry up with the uniform for the workers."

It was getting hotter and the clothes and uniforms for the servants and workers were due for a change.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and he glanced around at Xue Cong and the others.

He wondered about theirs and asked, "What about the four of you?"

"We have it ready too." Yue Jie said and the others nodded their heads together.

He looked forward to how they would look in their new clothes but he would only be able to see it when he was done for the day.

They chatted about other matters and he left for the work site for the shopping mall when he was done with his breakfast.

The faster it gets completed, the safer he would feel.

But the workers had to battle with the heat in the summer and the progress wasn’t as fast as it was.

It was something he couldn’t do much about except to help with keeping the workers hydrated.

"Father-in-law, there will be green bean soup for the workers later." Lin Xuan Qi said while he approached a makeshift shelter where Old Shao and his team stayed.

The shade from the shelter helped when they took a break and hid from the sun.

"That’ll be great." Old Shao nodded his head.

Lin Xuan Qi glanced at the surroundings and saw that the progress was maybe a quarter done.

The walls of the buildings had been opened up and the pillars for the connection between them were already up.

"Everything going well?" He looked back at Old Shao and asked.

Old Shao pointed at a diagram for the shopping mall and said, "Other than this corner which took us more effort to get the wooden pillar in, everything else is on target."

That was great news to Lin Xuan Qi and he gave out a sigh of relief.
