Chapter 636: In a Hurry
HuSai thought that he might have a better chance of survival if he could take Lao Er and Ling Er hostage.
He mustered all the Spirit Qi he had and the tattoos on his arms glowed.
The shriek of an eagle could be heard.
And in the next moment, he bent his knees, ready to lunge at Lao Er and Ling Er.
However, before he could do so.
A sharp cold could be felt from behind.
The chills felt like they were biting and seeping through into his back, causing sharp pangs of pain for him.
But that was not all.
Pain from a sharp blade took over and he felt his warm blood flowing out from his back and his abdomen.
Lee He Song had appeared again and plunged his Nine Yin Ice Sword into the back of HuSai with the tip of it coming out through HuSai’s abdomen.
"Damn you Da Qian rat!" HuSai cried out at Lee He Song while he struggled to try and give Lee He Song a back kick.
But Lee He Song wasn’t going to have any of it.
He twisted the handle of his sword, making the blade turn inside HuSai’s body. Aggravating the pain for him.
That caused HuSai’s half-lifted leg to go limp again.
Then, in a swift motion, Lee He Song drew out his sword and swiped it horizontally across the neck of HuSai.
HuSai could only feel a chill that went through his neck, and the next thing he saw was the ground and sky rolling as his head tumbled across the ground.
Lee He Song snorted coldly and flicked his sword to the side.
Blood that was on the blade splashed into the surroundings, making the blade of his sword pristine again.
He walked over to his wine gourd and picked it up.
"Thank you... old master... We shall forever be indebted to you for saving our lives.
"We.. don’t have anything much to repay you now, but if... you ever need anything in the future, the South Lin Sword Sect shall try our best to help..." Lao Er mustered all the strength he had left and said.
Ling Er, who was holding him up, frowned and wanted him to stop talking.
When Lee He Song heard the words ’South Lin Sword Sect’ he was surprised that Lao Er and Ling Er would be who he was supposed to help.
He shook his head at them with a chuckle and said, "It’s nothing.
"I’m Lee He Song, and I was supposed to be looking over you under the instruction of someone."
"Lee He Song... really?!" Lao Er and Ling Er were surprised too when they heard Lee He Song’s name.
This was the man that Grand Ancestor Lin was talking about.
What were the odds?
Lao Er wanted to stand up and cup his hands at Lee He Song.
Cough.
The exhaustion, however, made Lao Er cough out a mouthful of blood.
Lee He Song frowned and he took out a pill bottle from his shirt.
"There are some recovery pills inside, take them.
"We don’t have much time left and we must hurry." He said and walked over to the bodies of the two cultivators from the north.
He chanted the fire spell and directed his Five-Element Qi to his hands.
Two fireballs shot out from his hands and they started burning the bodies lying on the ground.
Meanwhile, Lao Er took one of the recovery pills and he immediately felt his injuries and wounds healing.
And after a while he could stand up again.
"How do you feel now?" Ling Er asked with a frown.
It might be best for Lao Er to go back to the village and rest. She thought.
But Lao Er saw and knew what she was thinking about.
He shook his head at her and insisted that he stay together with her.
"Don’t stand there, clean up the blood trail as much as you could." Lee He Song, who was waiting for the bodies to turn to ashes, said.
Lao Er and Ling Er immediately got to it and they started to try and bury the blood trail with soil and foliage.
After they were done, they saw Lee He Song scattering the ashes of the two bodies into the air.
The warm summer breeze carried the ashes into the surroundings and nothing was left of the two cultivators from the north.
"We overheard that they were sentries and had left their position to look for the pet wolf of one of them." Lao Er briefed Lee He Song on what he had heard earlier.
That got Lee He Song into a deep frown.
He glanced at Lao Er and Ling Er and said, "Then, we better hurry and gather whatever information we can before they find out that there’s someone missing."
Lao Er and Ling Er nodded their heads.
Lee He Song led them deeper into the forest, occasionally stopping when he heard anything.
But it was fortunately a relatively smooth incursion into the hideout of the northern cultivators for them.
And when they reached a hill, Lee He Song could sense that there were many men above on top.
He glanced at Lao Er and Ling Er, and whispered to them, "Stay here while I go up and have a look."
Both of them nodded at him.
He took out an invisibility talisman and after the talisman gave out a glow, he disappeared from their sight in the next moment.
Lao Er and Ling Er hid behind cover and waited for him to come back.
Lee He Song leaped and flew into the air unseen.
On top of the hill, there were many men coming in and out of the rounded tents that these men had made.
He estimated that there were about a hundred or more of them on the hill.
And when he glanced into the distance, he saw that there were also similar tents on the other hills nearby.
Lee He Song frowned and he tried to memorize as much as he could.
He didn’t want to stay up in the air for too long, just in case these cultivators from the north had a way to detect his presence through some Formation Array or Artifacts.
And when he saw some commotion at the sentry point of the hill, he quickly descended back onto the ground.
