Chapter 646: Lin Mansion

Under the curious eyes of everyone, Lin Xuan Qi’s horse carriage took the lead with Qian Shi’s lavish horse carriage following closely behind.

Old Heng, young master Chew and their friends followed closely behind in their horse carriages.

They sat up straight, feeling proud of being part of the center of attention.

The doors of the horse carriage opened and Qian Shi stepped out from the horse carriage.

"Finally." Qian Shi stretched his body for a moment before he was mesmerized by the size of Lin Xuan Qi’s mansion.

It made him wonder if he had made the right decision to come here.

For Lin Xuan Qi to be able to afford such a huge mansion, he must have been one to love money and wealth a lot.

And that caused Qian Shi to become more suspicious of Lin Xuan Qi’s motives.

"Welcome to the Lin Mansion, your highness. Please come with me." Lin Xuan Qi stretched out his hand, gesturing for Qian Shi to follow him.

Qian Shi gave out a short sigh and walked towards the gates of the mansion.

An old eunuch quickly followed along together with a burly soldier dressed in full armor.

Old Heng, young master Chew and their friends alighted from their horse carriages and they didn’t know what to do next.

Lin Xuan Qi waved at them to follow and they quickly did so.

"This place is pretty well kept. The garden looks great." Qian Shi strolled along the path towards the main hall and he marveled at the surroundings of the mansion.

"Thanks for your compliments.

"My wife and concubines have put in lots of effort in all of this.

"You should be able to meet them later." Lin Xuan Qi didn’t know if it was only customary praise from Qian Shi, but he took it as if it wasn’t.

Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi had worked hard for it and credit must be due.

"Oh. Then, I would be honored to have a glimpse of them." Qian Shi said and the old eunuch ran ahead to make sure that the steps into the main hall weren’t too difficult for Qian Shi.

Finally, they stepped through the doorstep and entered the main hall.

Xue Cong quickly stood up and gave out a cough when she saw Lin Xuan Qi back with Qian Shi.

Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi, alerted by her cough, did the same.

They glanced at Qian Shi who was dressed in his official uniform.

There was a dragon embroidered on the uniform, and it helped Qian Shi give out an aura of authority.

Xue Cong didn’t expect the important guest to be someone like Qian Shi.

Even though she had been impressed by what Lin Xuan Qi was able to achieve so far, this was still out of her expectations.

There seemed to be no end to the amount of surprises that he could give to her.

She realized the magnitude of it and she reminded herself not to mess it up for him.

After being with Lin Xuan Qi for so long, she wasn’t the young woman out from the village anymore.

Under Lin Xuan Qi’s patient guidance, she was more than confident and capable enough to handle it.

"Our greetings to your royal highness, the Duke of Mu." Xue Cong and the others said and they cupped their hands at Qian Shi and gave him a bow.

"No need for the formality. I’m on a private visit to the Lin Mansion." Qian Shi waved at Xue Cong and the others, gesturing for them to get up.

"Thanks, your highness." Xue Cong said and she glanced over at Xiu, "Tell the kitchen to get ready."

Xiu bowed at her and turned around quickly to head for the kitchen.

"Our greetings to your highness, the Duke of Mu too." Old Heng and the others quickly chimed in and they gave a deep bow at Qian Shi.

It was still so surreal to them that they were under the same roof as Qian Shi.

"Same thing for you. No need for all the formalities." Qian Shi said and Lin Xuan Qi led him to his favorite seat in the main hall.

While Lin Xuan Qi was doing so, he could sense that there were some cultivators that had come near to the mansion, presumably from the Qing Feng Sect.

They didn’t come too close or come into the mansion, but chose to stick around in the surroundings of the mansion instead.

When Qian Shi got in front of the seat facing out towards the doors and at the gates of the mansion, Lin Xuan Qi took the opportunity in the pretense of pouring a cup of tea for Qian Shi to hand a piece of paper to Qian Shi.

"Have a seat and enjoy the tea first while we wait for the kitchen to be ready." Lin Xuan Qi said with a smile and Qian Shi glanced at him with a frown.
