Chapter 312: Chapter 283: Adventurer’s Hall
On the fourth day, the new students gathered at the fifth training ground. But instead of immediately starting the day’s training, Instructor Zhou, ignoring their puzzled looks, led them to a mysterious place.
"This is the School Pet Beast Center. Its function is similar to the city’s Pet Beast Center, but it’s exclusively for the school’s students and teachers." Instructor Zhou gave a simple introduction as he led the students inside.
Upon entering the School Pet Beast Center, Li Qian immediately began to look around curiously.
When Lu Tianjiao had given him a tour, they had only glimpsed this building from a distance. It was located in a somewhat remote spot in the northwest corner of the campus, so they never got a close look.
Therefore, he was completely in the dark about the School Pet Beast Center’s interior layout. Like most of the other new students, he knew nothing and was filled with curiosity.
’Huh, they actually sell the Life Element Materials needed for a Golden Pearl Bud to evolve into a Tidal Sea Spirit here.’ Li Qian took in the interior of the School Pet Beast Center and quickly spotted something that caught his interest.
He saw all sorts of information scrolling across a large screen inside. That was where he’d seen the materials required for a Golden Pearl Bud to evolve into a Tidal Sea Spirit.
Along with the materials, he also saw the conditions for obtaining them.
Points.
Li Qian was a little confused by this and couldn’t help but ask, "What are these Points? How do you get them?"
His voice wasn’t quiet, and he asked the question hoping for an answer. However, most of the students around him in the same group just looked dumbfounded.
Clearly, they didn’t know anything about the School Pet Beast Center either.
A small number of students seemed to know something. They were just about to speak up and show off what they knew...
...but just then, Instructor Zhou issued another command. "Now, follow me. Forward, march!"
With that, he started walking, leading the way. The students had no choice but to follow in step.
There were quite a few students inside the School Pet Beast Center. Besides their group, there were others—probably upperclassmen—who all turned to give them scrutinizing looks as they entered.
They sized them up while whispering amongst themselves, though most of it was useless chatter.
"Those must be this year’s new students, right?"
"They look pretty energetic."
"Hey, look at those freshman girls. They’re pretty cute. Don’t you dare try to compete with me."
"And some of those freshman guys in the middle of the group are pretty handsome..."
"..."
The upperclassmen’s discussion caused a small commotion among the new students, drawing their attention.
Some of the bolder students were already starting to interact with them as they walked.
Seeing this, Instructor Zhou explained, "I know you’re all curious, but don’t be. This is a place you’ll be coming to often in the future."
"For the next three days, you will follow me to a special place for training. After the training is over, we will return here. At that time, any questions you have will be answered. For now, don’t waste time!"
After hearing this, Li Qian stopped letting his mind wander. He simply followed the group toward the back of the Pet Beast Center.
From his recent observations of the School Pet Beast Center’s interior, Li Qian knew that this place was probably open to all students.
If that was the case, it meant he would have plenty of opportunities to come here later. There was indeed no need to rush.
Following the group, he entered what seemed to be the back of the School Pet Beast Center—though, to be precise, Li Qian wasn’t sure if that’s what it was.
After entering the building and passing through a door, they had inexplicably arrived in a spacious, altar-like area.
In that area stood a stone gate. In its very center was a translucent curtain of light, wreathed in a swirling mist.
Li Qian saw students emerging from the curtain of light, while others stepped into it.
Upon seeing the column of new students appear, some of the other students stopped to watch for a moment. Others paid them no mind, apparently accustomed to the sight.
"Keep up and don’t fall behind." Instructor Zhou continued to lead from the front, while one of his Pet Beasts, a Jungle Wolf, brought up the rear.
With the man and his Pet Beast guarding the front and back, the new students were kept safe in the middle. There was no need to worry about their safety.
’Could this place be...?’ Li Qian glanced around, unable to keep from speculating.
He already had a guess as to what this place was.
But until it was confirmed, he couldn’t say for sure, so he could only wait in anticipation.
Soon, the answer would be revealed.
Under Instructor Zhou’s lead, the column of twenty-five new students passed through the stone gate’s curtain of light one by one.
The moment they passed through, the scene before their eyes changed in an instant, as if they had entered a whole new world.
The group, including the instructor, totaled twenty-six people. In the blink of an eye, they found themselves in a magnificent hall.
No one knew exactly where this hall was or what its exterior looked like. They had emerged from the south side of the hall, where there was another curtain of light.
Li Qian was quite curious. Glancing left and right, he soon saw many other new students just like them, also led by instructors and looking around with the same curiosity.
"Now that we’re here, I imagine you have some guesses, even if I don’t say anything, right?" Instructor Zhou glanced at the students before fixing his gaze on the north side of the hall.
On the north side of the hall, just like the south, stood another tall, majestic, and imposing stone gate.
Inside the stone frame, there was no door, only another swirling curtain of light.
The curtain of light was like a waterfall cascading from the heavens, embedded in the hall’s northern wall.
It stood there silently, radiating a soft glow that gave it a mysterious and ancient feel.
Here, there were noticeably more people. Judging by their clothing, some of them were clearly not students.
Like the upperclassmen back at the school, these people also cast scrutinizing gazes at the new students—some were playful, others expectant, and still others envious. The list went on.
Before the new students could start guessing wildly, Instructor Zhou gave them the answer. "That’s right. This is the Adventurer’s Hall. The gate behind us leads to the various Pet Beast Centers in Shazhou City..."
He paused, his expression turning exceptionally grave. "As for the one in front of us... that is Shazhou City’s Dimensional Gate. It leads to a Dimension Plane!"
