Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 313 - 284: Guardian Squad

Chapter 313: Chapter 284: Guardian Squad

Although he had expected as much, Li Qian still found it incredible to hear Instructor Zhou confirm his guess.

"A Dimensional Gate!"

"Does that mean we’ll be spending the next three days of training in a Dimension Plane?!"

"This is great!"

"I never thought we’d get to enter a Dimension Plane this soon!"

"..."

After hearing Instructor Zhou’s explanation, the new students all broke into a flurry of discussion.

The excitement on their faces was plain to see.

Li Qian’s heart was pounding as well.

Instructor Zhou watched the new students’ reactions and continued speaking in a calm, unhurried tone. "Over the next three days, not only will you train in a Dimension Plane, but after the training concludes, there will also be an assessment."

"If you pass the assessment, you will be awarded an Adventurer’s Badge."

Hearing this, the look of astonishment on Li Qian’s face grew even more pronounced.

’An Adventurer’s Badge!’

’I can get an Adventurer’s Badge just like that!’

After all, the Adventurer’s Badge was no ordinary item.

It was, in a sense, a pass.

A pass to enter the Dimension Planes.

That’s right—a pass was required to enter a Dimension Plane.

For ordinary people, there was only one way to obtain an Adventurer’s Badge.

By passing the assessment organized by the Beastmaster Association.

The assessment was said to be divided into two parts.

A written exam and a practical combat test.

The written exam was relatively easy to pass, mostly consisting of questions related to the Dimension Planes.

This was a necessary precaution.

The more knowledge one had about the Dimension Planes, the better their chances of survival.

After all, the Dimension Planes were different from the Ancestral Star. Outside of the base cities established by humans, the wilds were fraught with danger.

A single moment of carelessness could lead to death.

As for the practical combat test, that was self-explanatory.

It was designed to test a Beast Master’s combat prowess.

Unlike ordinary Beast Masters, graduates of the Eight Great were said to automatically receive an Adventurer’s Badge.

Of course, talented students generally didn’t wait until graduation.

Under normal circumstances, they would take the Adventurer’s Badge assessment ahead of time.

Still, the chance to get one so soon after enrolling came as quite a surprise to Li Qian.

And with that surprise came an intense desire.

Now, after completing his research on the evolution method from Golden Pearl Bud to Tidal Sea Spirit, his Spiritual Power had skyrocketed to Tier Nine Elite.

As for Qizai and Xiaoliu, their strength had reached that level long ago.

Thanks to their Racial Potential, they could even unleash the combat power of an Initial Stage Commander. ’It’s worth a shot,’ he thought.

Having made up his mind, Li Qian etched Instructor Zhou’s words deep into his memory.

He glanced around and saw that many of the other new students had the same eager look in their eyes.

’It seems this year’s class is full of crouching tigers and hidden dragons.’

"Now, please come forward one by one to receive a temporary badge. This badge serves as proof for a single round trip and will automatically disappear upon your return."

Instructor Zhou’s expression turned serious again. "Remember, after you enter the Dimension Plane, this temporary badge must be worn at all times. Do not take it off for any reason."

With that, he had the students count off.

After they finished, they went up to Instructor Zhou in numerical order to receive their temporary badges.

Li Qian was in the middle of the line. His number was twelve, and he was the twelfth to receive his temporary badge.

He looked down at the temporary badge in his hand, examining it closely.

After a moment of scrutiny yielded nothing, he stopped wasting time and pinned the light gray temporary badge to his chest.

A few minutes later, once all the students had their badges on, Instructor Zhou added another warning. "Make sure your badges are secure. When we go through the security check in a moment, the security robots will likely detain anyone without one. Be careful."

With that, he led them toward the curtain of light to the north.

The security check process was simple.

They just had to pass through a security gate.

Security robots hovered on either side of the gate. Each time a Beast Master passed through, the robots would shoot out a beam of red light.

After the scan, any Beast Master without issues could proceed.

Those with problems would be stopped.

Instructor Zhou walked up to the security gate, but he didn’t go through immediately. Instead, he stopped right in front of it.

After stopping, he looked at the girl at the front of the line. "Number one, go!"

Hearing this, the girl at the very front of the line walked through the security gate without hesitation, her face alight with excitement.

A red light flashed and was gone.

The security check was over in an instant, and the girl was already on the other side of the gate.

"Number two, proceed!"

Seeing that the first girl had completed the security check, Instructor Zhou continued giving orders.

And so it went, one after another.

In just about three minutes, all the new students had passed through security.

The group of twenty-five new students reassembled behind the security gate.

Instructor Zhou continued his explanation. "Perhaps some of you already know this, but inside the Dimension Planes, we human Beast Masters have established numerous base cities."

"Within the Dimension Plane connected to the Shazhou City Dimensional Rift, we have established a total of two large cities, three medium-sized cities, and five small cities."

"These ten cities are the footholds for us human Beast Masters in this particular Dimension Plane."

At this point, Instructor Zhou pointed to the curtain of light not far away. "Through the Dimensional Gate ahead, you will enter Yuntian City."

Yuntian City is one of those two large cities.

"When you enter the Dimension Plane, you may observe the city’s sights, but you must remain disciplined and orderly. You are absolutely forbidden from leaving the group without permission. Anyone caught doing so will be sent back to the academy immediately."

Instructor Zhou said, his voice cold and sharp.

With that, he turned and stared intently at the curtain of light.

He checked the time.

He seemed to be waiting for something and didn’t move right away.

Seeing this, all the new students wore looks of confusion.

After a wait of about five minutes, a group of three people emerged one by one from the curtain of light and approached Instructor Zhou.

"Senior Zhou, long time no see."

One of them, a burly man with a full beard, walked straight over, clapped Instructor Zhou on the shoulder, and greeted him with easy familiarity.

Besides the burly man, there were another man and a woman. They weren’t old, probably in their mid-twenties. The woman had a tall, slender figure and wheat-colored skin, exuding a wild beauty. The man was tall and thin, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, and had a scholarly air about him.

"Introduce yourselves," Instructor Zhou said, gesturing toward the new students once all three had gathered.

The bearded man spoke first, his voice booming, "The name’s Al Durie! You can call me Ah Du, or Senior Brother Du!"

"I’m Xiangjing Ling. You can call me Ling, or Senior Sister Ling," the tall woman said, introducing herself after the bearded man.

Last was the scholarly-looking man. His introduction was very simple: "I’m Ge Zhengdao!"

After Ah Du, Ling, and Ge Zhengdao finished their introductions, Instructor Zhou explained the situation. "These three seniors will form the Guardian Squad. Along with me, they will ensure your safety during this trip into the Dimension Plane!"

"Remember, the Dimension Plane is fraught with danger. You must never leave the group to act alone. If you do, you will face the consequences on your own."
