Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 819 - 549: Hill Giant Migration Journey

Chapter 819: Chapter 549: Hill Giant Migration Journey

There was no confusion or hesitation in her eyes, only complete reliance and trust.

Seeing this, a barely perceptible ripple flashed through Silver Moon Blade’s massive dragon eyes. He realized that Her Highness the Princess seemed to rely on this human far more than he had imagined.

Raylo didn’t answer immediately. He gently stroked Moonlight’s soft fur, his gaze fixed on the dancing campfire as he pondered for a long time. They definitely had to go, but not right now.

"Silver Moon Blade," Raylo slowly began. "Moonlight is my partner. Naturally, her people are my people. I am duty-bound to reunite the Silver Dragon Race and return the Moon Remains to the sky."

Hearing these words, Silver Moon Blade’s eyes softened. This human didn’t treat Her Highness the Princess as his personal property; he possessed the broad-mindedness and sense of responsibility befitting the title of Guardian.

"However," Raylo’s tone shifted, "not right now."

"Why?" A hint of urgency crept into Silver Moon Blade’s voice. "A long delay means many complications. We should—"

Raylo interrupted him. He stood up, walked to the edge of the square, and gazed at the dark sky in the distance.

"We have just formed an alliance with the Hill Giant Race. Nearly a thousand Giants will soon migrate here, and settling them will take time. More importantly..." Raylo’s voice lowered. "Just like the Giant Dragon Realm, outer realm Divine Spirits are coveting our world. We are currently fighting the minions of a Divine Spirit. Mr. Silver Moon Blade, I believe we share a common enemy."

Turning around, Raylo stared fiercely into Silver Moon Blade’s massive dragon eyes. "I promise you, once the territory is secure, I will personally accompany Moonlight on the journey to find the Moon Remains."

Silver Moon Blade fell silent for a moment before his voice rang out. "I understand, Lord Guardian. Until you deem the time is right, I will stand guard by the Princess’s side. I hope we can embark on the journey to find the Moon Remains as soon as possible."

Receiving this promise, Raylo was finally able to put his mind at ease.

The next day.

The dark of night faded away, and the first glimmer of morning light pierced through the clouds, gilding Black Stone City with a soft, golden edge. Last night’s revelry and clamor had dissipated, leaving only warm ashes in the square’s campfires. The early-rising citizens had already begun their day’s work. The aroma of baked bread and the clinking from the blacksmith shop filled the air. Everything appeared so orderly and full of vitality.

In the square of Black Stone City, Ed was assembling a large group of Knights. Following a low growl from Coal Ball, the space around the Space Stone Wall in the square began to distort violently without warning. A spatial rift appeared, slowly tearing open until it reached over twenty meters high.

"They’re here," Raylo said softly.

HUM!

The spatial rift stabilized, and a colossal figure stepped out from the pitch-black void. A Giant over fifteen meters tall appeared in the sight of all the residents of Black Stone City. With bulging muscles, he looked like a moving hill. It was none other than Kado.

Following closely, Hill Giants walked out of the spatial rift one after another. They were equally towering, though there were also a few young Giants, only a few meters tall, with curiosity and timidity on their faces. They followed silently behind their parents, and upon seeing the sights of Black Stone City—especially the Silver Giant Dragon in the distance—deep shock filled their eyes.

A full nine hundred and thirteen Hill Giants emerged. As they all walked out of the rift and stood quietly in the open space on the outskirts of the square, the scene was enough to render anyone speechless. They looked like a silent Stone Forest. Combined with the hundreds of Hill Giants originally living in Black Stone Territory, the population of Hill Giants in the territory had reached a thousand.

On the other side of this Stone Forest, an even more stunning scene was unfolding.

"All citizens participating in the ’Labor Competition,’ gather in the East District! The logistics department is starting to distribute tools! The meat stew for lunch is already simmering, guaranteed to give everyone the energy to work hard! First Engineering Team, move out! Second Engineering Team, follow up!"

Under Ed’s command, thousands of citizens who had answered the call for the "Labor Competition" were marching in neat formations, surging in from the other end of the city. They held various tools in their hands, their faces showing no trace of fear, but rather brimming with excitement and soaring morale. Doubled wages, unlimited food, and priority housing selection in the new district! The Lord had simply offered too much!

They looked at the massive Hill Giants with immense curiosity and enthusiasm. These were their future neighbors, the Lord’s allies! The human procession was like a rushing river, while the Hill Giants’ formation resembled a majestic, silent mountain range. The two forces converged in the square, creating a striking visual impact.

"Ed," Raylo said.

"Here, my Lord!" Ed immediately straightened his posture.

"You are in charge of coordinating everything," Raylo ordered. "Lead all the Giants and workers, and set out immediately for the Valley of the Giant’s Sleep. You have full authority to make decisions on anything along the way."

"Yes, my Lord!"

"The Griffin Knights and Pegasus Knights will be responsible for aerial security and guiding the way, clearing all obstacles on the path ahead! I demand that you reach the designated campsite before nightfall!"

"Understood!"

Following Raylo’s command, Ed mounted his steed and pointed forward. "All troops, move out! Destination, the Valley of the Giant’s Sleep!"

ROAR!

The Hill Giants let out excited roars. Taking heavy strides, they followed the procession of human workers, advancing toward the endless Black Stone Mountain Range to the north. The massive convoy slowly departed from Black Stone City like a giant dragon.

At the very front was the vanguard composed of hundreds of Knights. In the middle were the nine hundred-plus Hill Giants, whose colossal bodies brought an unparalleled sense of pressure, yet their steps were careful to avoid damaging the road. High in the sky, the aerial formation of Griffin Knights and Pegasus Knights circled like a flock of eagles, scouting ahead to ensure the safety of the route.

Deep within the Black Stone Mountain Range, the endless peaks resembled the spines of colossal beasts. A torrent of nearly ten thousand lives was slowly advancing along the path carved at the foot of the mountains, heading toward the Valley of the Giant’s Sleep.

In the sky above, the Griffin Knights and Pegasus Knights circled like falcons, vigilantly scouting their surroundings. Suddenly, a few sharp shrieks echoed from the forest ahead.

"High alert!" Ed ordered.

More than a dozen Wind Demon Wolves—each the size of a wild bison and covered in green manes—leaped out of the forest, lunging at the Mammoth Knights at the very front of the procession.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Before the ground troops could even react, the circling Griffin Knights in the sky responded. Dozens of Armor-Piercing Arrows infused with Fighting Spirit rained down like a sudden downpour. In less than a minute, the entire Wind Demon Wolf Pack was pinned dead to the ground.

"Logistics team, move up and process the Magical Beast corpses! Log them into tonight’s food reserves!"

The procession continued its march. However, when the massive convoy reached a narrow Valley flanked by towering cliffs on both sides, a sudden anomaly occurred.

HUM!

The earth began to shake. At first, it was just a slight tremor, like ten thousand horses galloping in the distance. But within a few breaths, the shaking intensified drastically!

RUMBLE!

The ground beneath their feet heaved violently like a storm-tossed ship at sea!

"Hold steady! Everyone, hold steady!" Ed roared at the top of his lungs to maintain order. frⅇe

The human procession instantly plunged into chaos. Workers stumbled around, unable to keep their footing, their faces written with sheer panic. The Earth Dragons and Mammoths also let out restless, anxious low growls.

"Watch out above!" a Knight pointed at the top of the cliffs and yelled in terror.

CRACK!

CRACK!

Massive boulders, fractured by the tremors on the mountain walls on both sides, came tumbling down. Like a dense barrage of cannonballs, they smashed toward the convoy at the bottom of the Valley!

"Balin, take the Mages and intercept the falling rocks!"

Below, the Mages urgently propped up Magic Barriers one after another. However, there were simply too many falling rocks, and they were far too dense!

"Ah!"

A tragic scream rang out. A young worker failed to dodge in time and was grazed on the thigh by a falling rock the size of a millstone. He was sent flying by the impact, and blood instantly stained the ground red. Chaos began to spread.

"It’s an earthquake! Run!"

"Don’t panic! Maintain formation!"

Right at that moment, a furious roar exploded from the ranks of the Hill Giants.
