The Villain's Story

Chapter 977: Olivia Olsfer.

Chapter 977: Olivia Olsfer.

Standing on top of the few buildings that still remained intact within the city, Olivia, along with Henry and the rest of the Behemoth team stared at the black barrier on the outskirts of the city. It was massive beyond belief, and they couldn’t even think of the amount of mana it cost. It was simply too large a number than they ever thought possible.

Henry, with his sharp eyes along with a plethora of observational skills had been desperately trying to take a peek for the longest time, but alas, every attempt was thwarted. He cancelled his skills and rubbed his eyes as he muttered.

"I wonder what he’s doing in there..."

Every awakened being on the rooftop could hear his muttering, and it was planned. Henry had wanted Olivia to hear it, unfortunately for him, Olivia was silently staring at the city below, teeming with automatons.

She was busy tying up her hair in a ponytail, getting ready to do battle with the grotesque monsters below. She wondered why they were called automatons; at best, they were a weird mix of flesh and metal, moving together with magic instead of technology.

They didn’t even look like proper robots, much less than the ’Automatons’ she was eager to see. Although she did have to agree they were more metal than flesh, as oddly as they were combined, it was difficult to see for anyone without an affinity for the metal element.

Olivia had heard Henry but chose to remain silent. Not because she didn’t want to say anything, but because she didn’t know what to say. Alan could be doing literally anything in there... He could be raining down meteors, firing Dragon Breath after Dragon Breath, using large-scale spells without an ounce of hesitation or a multitude of other things.

She genuinely had no clue, because there were too many options! Regardless, she was aware of Henry’s attempt at gathering information and laughed inwardly. She was certain he wouldn’t believe a single word if she laid out a few guesses.

Regardless, it was probably time to get serious. Olivia finished tying up her hair and walked towards the edge of the building, unsheathing her rapier.

"Silver."

She called out, and from underneath her clothes, a silver serpent emerged, resting around her neck. It raised its head, and Olivia fed the cute thing a pellet of food from her spatial storage. The surrounding awakened were alarmed, pulling out their weapons at the emergence of a sudden monster.

Henry, on the other hand, was weirded out. He knew the snake wasn’t hostile, he had a more pressing question on hand.

"Where the fuck were you keeping that?"

Olivia smirked, unwilling to share. While Silver had emerged from underneath her shirt, he liked to remain in the form of an amulet. As Henry and the others gave her weird looks, she called out once more.

Zephi.

A hawk of wind materialized around her, larger than her and perfectly capable of carrying her weight. Her second contracted spirit let out a happy screech as it nestled close. Henry’s weird look vanished, now turning into fascination.

He called to his own hawk spirit, which promptly appeared, but his spirit was much smaller and weaker than Olivia’s. It had to be, Olivia had tirelessly cultivated her spirits to be the strongest they could. All of her spirits were talented, their only bottleneck being Olivia.

"Where the hell did you get that?"

He was genuinely curious. Olivia answered.

"The same way you got your own, I made a contract with her and raised her myself. Isn’t she the cutest thing?"

She rubbed Zephi’s cheek as the hawk screeched gleefully. Henry stood amazed, unaware that he had been lied to. Technically, Zephi was a spirit bestowed upon her by Azmakul; according to the ancient dragon, she was a talented one who would help Olivia significantly. Though he had said that Olivia would eventually be able to contract something on her level, she was glad to get a headstart.

Summoning spirits and many other things related to them were still underdeveloped on Earth, the new planet simply didn’t have enough time to study the topic, and the Alliance was incredibly strict on information regarding the Spirit World. Olivia knew more than all of Earth combined, that she was certain on.

The Ancient Dragon had drilled a lot of information in her head, and while Olivia still couldn’t compare to the monsters that were Alan and Alexander, she was far above anyone else. The girl let out a sigh, as she said.

"Well, I wish you all luck. I will go and hunt now. Also, please try to maintain some distance from where I am."

Before anyone could answer, Olivia jumped from the building, using her affinity to wind to slide down the building. Silver, her snake spirit slithered down her arm and into her rapier, strengthening it as Zephi rose high into the skies, keeping a keen eye on the monsters below, ready to provide support immediately.

"Heed my call, oh ye dwarven bane."

She began to cast. Being a summoner didn’t mean she was limited only to her own contracted spirits. Olivia, with her talent, could temporarily call a spirit far more powerful than her, although at a heavy mana cost.

"Oh ye devourer of mountains, maker of rivers, I call upon ye might, call upon ye hunger for metal."

A massive magic circle appeared in front of her, as Olivia cut her arm with her rapier, and spread the blood on the magic circle. Her reserves of mana began to dwindle rapidly, and a pale look appeared on her face as Olivia pushed through.

"I call upon thee phantom, bearing but a smidgen of your true power, Dwarven Bane, Eternal Worm, Herald of the Earth and Devourer of Mountains, Seeker of Metals and Hunger Incarnate!"

She drew a large breath, as her body began to glow with spiritual power, and with great effort, she completed the spell, forming a temporary contract with a high-mythical spirit, calling forth a phantom to aid her. This was normal for Summoners, who usually made temporary contracts with high tier spirits to aid their cause. It benefited both the summoner and the spirit.

Olivia’s talent, along with her careful nurturing by Azmakul after considering her affinities had allowed such a development, even if it was very limited.

"Feast!"

She completed the spell, and slowly, the earth began to rumble.
