Chapter 1267: Chapter 1267:- The most Terrifying Enemy of the Anti-Emperor Troops
Meanwhile, Athena was watching Aditya from high above the battlefield. As the Goddess of Wisdom, she understood how difficult it was for a single individual to influence a war involving hundreds of thousands of soldiers. Ordinarily, such battles required careful planning, experienced commanders, and proper coordination between different divisions.
However, Aditya possessed enough strength to change the situation through his own actions. According to her rough calculation, given how fast the enemy troops’ numbers had thinned, she was sure that he had at least killed more than one hundred thousand retreating troops.
What made this even more impressive was that Aditya had accomplished all of this within a relatively short period. The Emperor Faction’s army had barely been given enough time to reorganise its formation before Aditya began slaughtering its retreating soldiers.
"What an unreasonable man." Athena murmured with a small smile.
She shook her head slightly before continuing.
"Most commanders spend their entire lives learning how to defeat armies. Meanwhile, Aditya simply enters the battlefield and becomes an army by himself. Even the best strategy becomes difficult to carry out when someone like him is fighting on the opposing side." Athena said with clear admiration.
"Actually, he always has been like this. Even back in the Six Continents, other Empires and Factions feared Aditya more than they feared his troops or his Dragonians." Laura added from within Athena.
Athena nodded slightly in agreement. Having someone like Aditya on their side was undoubtedly a huge advantage. His presence alone could force enemy commanders to completely change their strategies.
Athena was especially impressed by how naturally Aditya combined his different abilities. His teleportation allowed him to move wherever he wanted, while his powerful physique and swordsmanship made every attack extremely dangerous.
Even when he was not using his most destructive elemental abilities, he remained a terrifying opponent.
In fact, Athena believed that this was one of the most frightening things about Aditya. Even if his enemies somehow managed to prepare countermeasures against some of his abilities, he still possessed several other ways to defeat them.
Elsewhere, Malakor Harrington was also watching his grandson’s performance. The old man had witnessed many powerful cultivators throughout his long life, but Aditya’s growth continued surprising him. It was difficult to believe that the young man fighting below was the same grandson who had once needed the protection of his elders.
"Hahahaha! That’s my grandson!" Malakor laughed loudly, unable to hide his pride.
He continued watching for a few moments before shaking his head with a smile.
"That brat keeps surprising me. Every time I think I’ve understood how powerful he has become, he shows me something new. Ren truly has no idea what kind of monster he has made his enemy." Malakor said proudly.
As a Seventh Order cultivator, Malakor could clearly recognise the skill behind Aditya’s movements. His grandson was not simply relying on overwhelming power. He was also using his abilities with excellent control, making every movement count.
For Malakor, this was even more impressive than the number of enemies Aditya was killing.
After all, possessing overwhelming strength and knowing how to properly utilise that strength were two completely different things. Many talented cultivators possessed powerful abilities, but very few could use them as efficiently as Aditya was doing.
The expressions on the three 7th-order cultivators standing opposite Malakor Harrington turned extremely ugly as they watched everything. Earlier they had mocked and disrespected Malakor Harrington. Yet now his grandson had already killed so many of their troops that this huge casualty number would definitely affect their second battle against the Anti-Emperor Faction.
Although none of them wanted to admit it, they understood that the losses suffered by the Emperor Faction were far beyond what they had initially anticipated.
Even if their side managed to regroup its remaining soldiers, replacing the troops they had lost would not be easy. Furthermore, such devastating casualties were bound to affect the morale of the surviving soldiers.
Meanwhile, inside the Anti-Emperor Faction’s command tent, Boris was watching the same scene through the projection artifact.
The old man had been prepared for a difficult first battle. Both sides had brought enormous armies, and the Emperor Faction possessed several powerful cultivators. Even with careful planning, Boris had expected the fighting to continue for a long time.
However, Aditya’s arrival had completely changed the situation.
"Hahahaha! Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful!" Boris exclaimed while leaning back in his chair.
Several officers standing nearby turned toward him, but Boris was too delighted to care about their reactions.
"This is exactly why having Aditya on our side is our greatest advantage. We can spend months preparing strategies and organising our troops, but that brat can accomplish more in a few minutes than an entire army can accomplish in hours." Boris said with a proud smile.
Some of the officers exchanged glances before turning their attention back toward the projection artifact. As military commanders, they understood better than most people how difficult it was to achieve such a result on the battlefield.
But in all honesty, even he himself was very shocked by Aditya’s performance. After reaching Beginner 6th-order, the brat’s strength had grown beyond anything that he could have imagined. It would not be wrong to say that despite being a Beginner 6th-order, Aditya was doing the work of a 7th-order cultivator.
This was something that Boris had never expected to witness so soon. He had always known that Aditya possessed extraordinary potential, but the speed of his growth was simply astonishing.
He then looked toward the officers gathered around him. "Remember what you are witnessing today. Years from now, people will still be talking about how the Dragon Monarch personally forced an army of hundreds of thousands to retreat. This is the kind of battle that becomes part of history."
Boris added this because he wanted these people to remember what his grandson was capable of doing. Without relying on his subordinates or his allies, just he himself was an extremely terrifying opponent.
The Dragon Monarch was an army by himself.
The officers nodded in agreement. None of them could deny the truth of his words, especially after personally witnessing the enormous difference Aditya had made.
Many of these officers had participated in several wars throughout their lives. However, none of them had ever witnessed a single individual cause such devastating casualties to an enemy army in such a short period.
Meanwhile, Freya, the Goddess of War, was also observing Aditya’s performance from the camp.
Unlike the others, Freya was paying more attention to Aditya’s fighting technique than the number of enemies he was killing. She carefully watched how he handled Raiketsu, how he combined his teleportation with his sword attacks, and how quickly he adjusted his movements.
The longer she watched, the wider her smile became.
"Hehehe! Not bad. Not bad at all!" Freya said with an excited expression.
She crossed her arms beneath her chest while continuing to observe Aditya. "His movements are becoming sharper, and his control over his abilities is improving at an incredible speed. He isn’t wasting any energy on unnecessary movements. Every attack is direct and effective. I like that."
Her eyes were shining with excitement. "Now I’m even more excited to fight him! I simply cannot wait! I wonder how much stronger he will become by the time we finally have our battle. Just thinking about it makes me excited!" Freya exclaimed with a delighted laugh.
For Freya, watching Aditya fight did not make her afraid of him. Instead, it only increased her desire to challenge him personally. She wanted to experience his strength for herself and see how far he could push her in a real battle.
Unlike ordinary cultivators, Freya did not particularly care about winning every battle. What she truly desired was an opponent who could force her to fight with everything she had.
Maybe Aditya was the man who would be able to defeat her on the battlefield. Freya’s greatest desire was to be defeated by the man whom she would marry in the future. And Aditya was already her fiancé. Given how things were going, she knew that he was almost as powerful as her, or maybe he was even more powerful than her.
’After this war ends, I am definitely challenging him to a duel.’ Freya almost could not control herself and wanted to fight him at this moment. But she understood that much more important things were at hand that needed their attention first.
Besides, she did not want to interfere with Aditya’s battle. This civil war was extremely important to him, and she knew that he had many things to accomplish before he could finally relax.
Meanwhile, Aditya remained completely unaware of the praise he was receiving from his allies. His attention was focused entirely on the task before him.
Raiketsu continued absorbing the blood and killing intent of the enemies it killed. Aditya had long fulfilled the requirements to remove the seal on his weapon. Now all he needed to do was stop for a moment and use his Mana to remove the last remaining bit of the seal from the Katana’s blade.
However, Aditya had no intention of stopping just yet. The enemy soldiers were still retreating, and he wanted to take full advantage of the situation before they managed to escape from his reach.
Before drawing Raiketsu, Aditya had already killed close to one hundred thousand enemy soldiers through his earlier attacks. Now, that number had increased to more than 200,000. The Emperor Faction brought about 400,000 troops to this first battle. Yet they had already lost more than half of all the troops that they brought.
This was beyond a simple loss. This was a one-sided defeat that would significantly impact the Emperor Faction and the outcome of the entire civil war.
Even if the Emperor Faction managed to recover from this defeat, the loss of more than half of its first army would undoubtedly place tremendous pressure on its military leadership.
Furthermore, the surviving soldiers would never forget what they had witnessed today. The fear that Aditya had created in their hearts was something that would not disappear simply because they managed to survive this battle.
For the Anti-Emperor Faction’s soldiers, witnessing this battle had completely changed the way they looked at their supreme commander.
They had already known that Aditya was a powerful Emperor, a talented cultivator, and an experienced leader. However, today they had witnessed something that went far beyond their expectations.
Until today, many of them had only heard stories about the Dragon Monarch’s achievements across the Six Continents. Some had even wondered whether those stories had been exaggerated by his supporters.
But after witnessing his performance with their own eyes, those doubts had completely disappeared. If anything, they now felt that the stories they had heard about the Dragon Monarch had failed to properly describe just how terrifying he truly was.
And most importantly, this terrifying individual was not their enemy. It was their supreme commander.
