Chapter 80: Chapter 80: Mechanician?
"Light Energy Control really does allow me to increase my Energy. That means if I ever end up wandering in space, I can absolutely absorb the light of surrounding stars to provide Energy for myself." Yang Bo stuck his hand out of the Spaceship, feeling the scorching heat of the sunlight hitting his hand, while also sensing a faint trace of Energy entering his body.
"I wonder what state I’ll be in after full-body Metalization?" When Yang Bo called up his Skills now, he could only see a 5% preceded by a string of question marks. He felt this might be a super badass state, but where did this 5% come from? Was it his Skin Metalization?
"First, I need to deal with the Mecha outside that’s communicating with the Pirate Battleship!" Yang Bo returned to where he had just emerged from the maintenance channel. He glanced around and didn’t spot the enemy, which meant it had to be in one of the other locations.
Looking at the signs inside the maintenance channel, Yang Bo moved rapidly through the passage. The speed of a Genetic Evolver was extremely fast. Moreover, Yang Bo was currently in a state of weightlessness. The Energy released by his Energy Armor allowed him to move through the maintenance channel as swiftly as if he were swimming in water.
Yang Bo felt as though he had activated a swimming Skill!
Arriving at another access point to the Spaceship’s exterior, he gently opened the hatch and saw a Mecha standing in the distance.
Yang Bo quickly pulled his head back in and returned to the maintenance channel.
Over ten minutes later, Yang Bo estimated that the Mecha was positioned right above him.
"What should be my next step?" Yang Bo hadn’t yet figured out how to resolve this. Smashing this Baisha Transport Ship just to deal with this Mecha didn’t align with his intentions. If he blew a hole here, the air inside would rapidly vent out, potentially causing massive damage to the entire Spaceship. At least for the next few days, Yang Bo didn’t want to become an interstellar wanderer!
The crucial issue was that this Mecha was equipped with ranged Weapons. Back when Yang Bo trained in the Mecha game, he had fought against Mechas with ranged Weapons and had been slaughtered like a total noob. He still harbored some psychological trauma regarding ranged Weapons.
"I’ve got it!" Yang Bo had seen other people’s Mechas and knew what the enemy’s Mecha looked like. He could just disguise his own Mecha to match theirs.
"That won’t work either. The enemy’s Mechas are all armed with Energy Cannons, while I’m only carrying a Great Saber!"
Yang Bo placed his hands on the Metal surface, carefully sensing the position of the Mecha above.
"Huh?" This time, Yang Bo felt something strange, as if he could control the Mecha above him.
Yang Bo had undergone full-body Metalization to enhance his perception. Who would have thought it would yield such an unexpected effect?
This illusion felt somewhat unbelievable to Yang Bo. This was someone else’s Mecha; how could he possibly control it?
Afterward, Yang Bo ignored the Mecha and hurried over to a maintenance hub.
With his entire body under Metalization, Yang Bo gently rested his hand on a maintenance robot.
Instantly, Yang Bo gained access rights to the robot. It felt as though he could manipulate the machine to do absolutely anything.
"Holy shit!" Yang Bo recalled the story the fat boss had told him about the stolen Warplanes. The guy who stole the Warplanes definitely possessed some sort of Metal-related Superpower.
Right at that moment, Yang Bo noticed that his Skills had changed.
Previously, there had been a string of question marks followed by a 5%.
Now it read: Mechanician: 5% (Incomplete) (Complete form can control any Metal machinery and Metal lifeforms).
"Does this mean I can now gain access to certain machines?" Yang Bo instantly understood.
Yang Bo left the area. The robot he had just gained access to reverted to its original state, as if no one had ever been there.
"What a great find!" Yang Bo looked at a row of Mechas. These belonged to the Spaceship’s escort team. In truth, every large Spaceship of this kind hired security personnel from security companies, all equipped with Mechas. Unfortunately, this place had been betrayed by an inside mole.
These Mechas weren’t very advanced—only seventh or eighth generation—and were basically on par with those of the Pirates. However, there were a full ten of them here.
Reaching out, Yang Bo felt that gaining access to this Mecha was a bit more difficult. However, with a continuous output of Energy, he successfully gained control of the Mecha three minutes later. This Mecha was equipped with a Laser Cannon.
"Badass!" At this moment, Yang Bo felt he had completely mastered the usage of this Mecha!
"It took three minutes to gain access to an unmanned Mecha, so the difficulty of acquiring a manned Mecha must be very high. But how do I upgrade this 5%? If I upgrade it to 100% in the future, will I be able to instantly gain control of those Warships?
"However, after using these Mechas, I need to destroy them. Otherwise, this ability of mine might be exposed," Yang Bo muttered inwardly as he looked at the other Mechas.
Yang Bo didn’t know how he had become so intimately familiar with the structure of this Baisha Transport Ship. Between his Skin Metalization and his Mechanician state, it felt like he had been using this Mecha for a long time, naturally knowing all the various commands and buttons inside.
"I wonder how I acquired this ability? It’s definitely not just pure Metal Control. Could it be related to my several Grandmaster Skills?
"A Mechanician can control a Battle Armor’s Light Brain. Could it be that Electric Energy Control provides a bonus? After all, a Light Brain runs on data, and its Energy source is electricity."
Yang Bo made his way to an exit and cautiously opened the airlock, which served as a transitional space between the exit and the outside world.
Slowly opening the outer hatch, the Mecha leaped up. Its Rocket Backpack activated instantly, and the entire Mecha charged toward the enemy’s Mecha in a flash.
The Pirate piloting the Mecha outside the Baisha Transport Ship was somewhat bored. Positioned on the spinning Baisha Transport Ship, the Mecha was transmitting movement speed and angle data to the Warship. Once the Warship finished its calculations, it would dock at the same speed. In other words, they would both spin together to achieve relative stillness in speed.
After all, a spin had an axis.
To put it simply, if two large trucks were driving side by side at a hundred kilometers per hour, they would appear stationary relative to each other. At that point, the Warship could initiate docking.
The pilot was a bit bored. After all, there were no Mechas on this Baisha Transport Ship, and a single Rift was no big deal. Weapons of that caliber, which relied on personal Energy to control, depended entirely on the individual’s strength.
Suddenly, alarms blared. The Mecha’s Laser Cannon opened fire instantly. Before the Pirate Mecha Master could even react, he was tackled to the ground by a massive Power.
The next second, the cockpit screens went black. Through the cockpit’s observation window, the Mecha Master saw a giant Mecha foot.
"AHH!!!" the Mecha Master let out a desperate, agonizing scream.
Controlling his Mecha, Yang Bo stomped down viciously on the cockpit, flattening it completely.
Mecha Pilot +16!
"So it was an Advanced model." Yang Bo looked at his own Mecha, noticing two holes punched through its shoulder, and drew in a sharp breath.
This time, Yang Bo had utilized Mecha Pilot, Mecha Maintenance, and Flying. The moment he tackled his opponent, his Laser Cannon had struck the enemy Mecha’s weak points.
He picked up the broken Mecha and hurled it outward.
It was then smashed to pieces by the spinning Baisha Transport Ship. Far away, the Pirate Battleship suddenly lost the Mecha’s signal and hastily began Reconnaissance.
At this time, Yang Bo also discarded his own Mecha, using Electric Energy to fry its Light Brain. Without its Gravity system, the Mecha floated up. With a forceful push from Yang Bo, it drifted out and was subsequently smashed to pieces by the spinning Baisha Transport Ship.
"Let’s keep going." With adrenaline pumping through him, Yang Bo felt like he could take on ten at once—though, of course, he still had to do it stealthily.
