Chapter 4901 Reuniting With Zenova
*Whoosh!~*
Davis flew quickly towards Fairy Thunderblaze. His figure blinked multiple times as he moved like a wraith within the pocket space, easily traversing the long distance like he was a skilled fish in the sea. Within a few seconds, he landed before her.
Their gazes met as Fairy Thunderblaze finally released a breath, realizing that the charm she implanted was still on him. When he raised his hands, she couldn't help but step forward and fall into his embrace.
"Welcome back, my Emperor."
Fairy Thunderblaze embraced him and felt his warmth as she thoroughly enjoyed it when he also wrapped his arms around her. Looking at his gentle smile, she was unable to maintain her gaze and placed her head over his chest. At that moment, she couldn't describe the emotions she felt. It made her feel light and giddy, as though she was ecstatic for no apparent reason, even though the reason was apparent.
He had returned in one piece. He had succeeded in becoming an Empyrean. He was still hers.
All that translated into giving her immense joy that she couldn't suppress. The existence of the charm made her feel uneasy but also secure. Right now, she felt secure knowing that the charm still hadn't broken.
She couldn't help but raise her head, her eyes moistening, "Did you make the conscious choice to keep the charm after breaking through?"
Davis's lips curled upward, "I have always kept it from fading away because I do love you."
"…"
Fairy Thunderblaze's breath hitched as she nearly gasped.
She subconsciously leaned in, and their lips met. She kissed, but she did not rush or make it awkward.
At first, it was soft, almost reverent, as though she were confirming his existence. Then it deepened, her emotions spilling through the kiss as she pressed closer, pouring relief, longing, and devotion into that single connection.
Davis responded in kind, his arms tightening around her as he kissed her back with steady warmth, grounding her swirling emotions. The world outside faded, leaving only the quiet rhythm of their breaths and the undeniable bond tying them together.
Fairy Thunderblaze finally released his lips and looked at him with an intense gaze that was filled with unreserved worship.
"Your journey in the Empyrean Stage has just begun. I will help you achieve whatever you want, no matter what it is, so please depend on me. I am aware of your mystical cultivation techniques that don't fit any previously recorded ones. No matter how long it takes for you reach the Exalt Stage- a thousand years, ten thousand years, a million years, or an eternity, I will always wait for you or die together." Her gaze softened as she quivered in his embrace.
"Zenova…"
Davis uttered as he released a faint breath. He closed his eyes and nodded before he grabbed her hand and gestured back.
"Come, let's go. The others are waiting for us."
"Mhm~"
Fairy Thunderblaze nodded. She walked with him hand-in-hand and went down the stone stairs.
With the breeze hitting their face as they descended, Fairy Thunderblaze felt more refreshed than ever, as though all the previous worries she had had were swatted away. A faint satisfied smile remained etched on her lips as she made her way down, and when they were halfway down, they flew away to catch up to the others.
Fairy Thunderblaze turned to look at his handsome face and his sapphire eyes that gleamed under the starry skies. The more she looked at him, the more she felt herself sinking under a spell, occasionally even thinking how someone so unearthly could even exist. Even though he kept his aura in check, she could feel the size of his existence while holding his hand.
One sweep of her senses and she knew this man had reached the level of an Exalt and perhaps even exceeded the Early Stage. The feeling she got from him was one of a deity holding the hand of a peasant girl, making her feel quite comical for proclaiming to be his Empress.
'Perhaps no one can be his Empress… but if someone has to be… it can only be me… Mmm, from here on out, I will make myself more powerful to match him in this regard…'
"What's wrong?" Davis asked after he caught her staring at him.
Fairy Thunderblaze came out of her reverie before she smiled.
"My Emperor, can I know why you didn't break the charm seal when you had the chance?"
She could tell he would have a moment of full clarity after his breakthrough, which he could've used to break the charm. He was indeed powerful by her initial calculations. If he didn't break it, then the charm would do its work and make him see her in a good light and further pull his soul into loving her more until it completely put him back in her control.
However, she didn't think it could do it this fast.
She would have to strengthen it again, but she didn't think she needed to do so if he was already in love with her.
'It would not be a fake bond anymore…' She pursed her lips, hoping that his answer was something that she dreamed of.
But at this point, she was aware he maintained some clarity while still entangled by her charm, for he had not called her his Empress but still treated her with affection.
However, Davis was silent for a while, making Fairy Thunderblaze's heart sink.
Suddenly, his lips moved, "I wanted to know what made you want to go so far, and I also wanted to confirm my true feelings for you. The charm seal you seemed to have placed on me is really not in opposition to what I feel for you, so other than my strange emotions, I wanted to confirm if you have any ill intentions against my family."
"No! Not one bit!" Fairy Thunderblaze's eyes went wide as she placed a hand on her bosom, "It's our family. How could I have ill intentions? Besides, Evelynn slapped me twice. Although I do want to punish her for it, I do not have ill intentions to see her suffer or be demoted. I am aware she holds a big place in your heart, but have also made immense contributions as the first wife. I am not capable of punishing her, nor do I deserve to be the Empress - for now."
She narrowed her eyes, her voice carrying intense ambition and a firm decision to prove herself to him.
"Oh?" Davis raised his brows, "Such a thing happened? Myria did say you two had clashed, and the other sisters helped Evelynn while you were all alone. It seems like I must summon the harem council to seek justice for you."
"Oh no-" Fairy Thunderblaze blinked as she unexpectedly blushed, "I am aware I did something bad, but as long as you say that it's fine, they will know to look past it. Also, I'm sorry I took advantage of your vulnerable moment that day at that time. Something must've come over me to time it-"
"It's fine. All is fair in love and war." Davis chuckled.
"My Emperor… I'm glad you understand~"
Fairy Thunderblaze smiled brightly at him, holding his hand even more firmly, never wanting to let go.
Davis turned to look ahead. They were almost near the teleportation point where Fairy Wix and the others were, but his mind was still preoccupied.
'This woman… she had a lot to think while I was away…'
Stepping down from the role of Empress… and admitting her mistakes. Somehow, it didn't make him feel moved, but only made him more enraged.
Why didn't she recognize this before?
Why now? It wasn't an issue, just a sorry would blow it away. He didn't think he could look past it until he made her suffer the same way.
He hid the glint of revenge which nearly escaped from his eyes, and landed with her on the ground, waving his hand at Fairy Wix as though he had just met her.
"…"
Many seemed to have a lot of questions seeing him holding hands with a woman who wasn't known to be his wife. However, Fairy Wix Voidfield simply announced.
"Each teleportation would require me to rest for a day, so we will make it back to the Golden Radiance Continent in three days. Until then, please make sure not go out anywhere and get caught. The nearer we get to the destination and get caught, the easier the Davis Family will be discovered."
Fairy Wix made hand seals as she explained before frowning, "So many powerful entities… I feel like I might be torn apart…"
"Junior sister, do you need help?" Karyot stepped forward.
"No, I can still perform the teleportation, but I might need to rest for more time."
Fairy Wix Voidfield said without batting an eyelid before a giant tree manifestation appeared behind her. This tree was then superimposed with the space around it, utilizing the pocket space like a catapult that suddenly hurled them through the space.
