Chapter 1349: The Supreme Human League
Draco nodded. "Sounds good."
He glanced at the Primordial Descendants group with a casual frown. "You heard her, we will strip you of that filthy bloodline and induct you into the Immortal Lineage."
Gerald heard this and felt his body tremble!
Darlington and the others were shocked, not believing that they could get such a good deal after all they had done. Do you understand how precious any one of the bloodlines were? Forget the top 3, even the obscure ones like Morrigan, Ilah, or Anansi were highly coveted.
Even their Ancestral Makers had admitted inferiority in understanding bloodline creation and dissemination back then when they captured a few estranged lineage members and hauled them off to Gaia's land for dissection.
Shuangtian smiled strangely. "Don't be so excited. Just because I will take you in doesn't mean you are absolved of your crimes. You acted a great many sins against the Lineages, especially the former Lucifer Lineage, while using the name of my Pangu Lineage as cover."
"Since that is the case, then you will work off this 'debt' until I am satisfied!"
The hearts of the Primordial Descendants chilled. Sure enough, it was childish to think that they could eat their cake and have it, but this outcome was infinitely better than death or being captured by the crazy Gaia who would likely torture them for eternity.
Without caring about them, Draco squeezed his fist, causing the faces of the Primordial Descendants to contort in agony as their bloodlines were extracted, forming 11 distinct flows that gathered above their area, each one belonging to one of the main Primordials.
When the extraction was done, the former Primordial Descendants were completely weak and unable to stand, looking like hollowed-out zombies that had been starving for decades.
Shuangtian casually activated her bloodline and manifested a golden imperial edict.
"By the Order of the Divine Empress: All members of the Primordial Descendants group shall be bestowed with the Immortal Lineage bloodline and be inducted into the family according to their level of strength!"
Shuangtian's imperious voice caused the souls of everyone to feel comfortable and reverent, and the read-out decree exploded in golden light that enveloped the body of each former Primordial Descendant.
When the golden light faded away, each of them looked good as new, or no… even better!
Now, they were no longer Primordial Descendants or former Primordial Descendants… now they were Lineage members!
And to top it off, the whole world witnessed this transformation live and in color!
The sheer amount of hatred and envy the Primordial Descendants were getting formed a black cloud overhead the Summit Center, and Draco looked up in awe. This amount of negative energy was about 1% of the hate contained in Sunna towards Eva, which was impressive!
After all, even if there were billions of humans watching this, they were a billion ants while Sunna was a true God. The qualitative gap between them was so big that even Zaine's booty would struggle to compare, so the humans did well this time.
Tsk, no wonder Lucifer quickly farmed humans for negative emotions by making himself an object of fear and hatred. Do not underestimate the power of quantity, even a million ants could bite an elephant to death!
However, Draco realized he needed to make a distinction at this moment, or the wrong people might have delusions of grandeur.
"Just so you all know, we are not giving any of you our bloodline. That is an exclusive right for those close to us or those who have made meritorious services." Draco said suddenly, causing every eye to fall on him.
He then pointed to Gerald and co. "As for those fellows, don't envy them. They might seem blessed to have Shuangtian's bloodline, but you have no idea what price they are going to pay for this act of kindness. Trust me, none of you will be willing to pay that same price, so once again, don't envy them."
Hearing this, the crowd once again glanced at Gerald and his group, whose faces of awe and excitement suddenly changed into worry for the future. They had forgotten what price they were going to pay for this and something told them that Draco was right, that price would not be something they could easily tolerate.
Eva suddenly took over, her expression aloof. "Now onto important matters. Each and every person, regardless of your location in the world, will be required to receive a Virtua Helmet from the nearest distribution center in their area, even if it is a war-torn area."
She then smiled thinly. "On that note, all wars are to end henceforth. I don't care the historical grudges, the sufferings or the people backing each conflict, I don't want to see a single knife raised between one person and another."
"I know many of you are even more resistant to this than submitting world authority to us and that's fine. My solution to anyone who disagrees is simply to purge your life from this material plane and plunge you into Draco's Nine Hells." Eva explained slowly with a smile.
Shuangtian chuckled. "You'd better listen to my sister, she is the Supreme Goddess of the world. She is in possession of a special realm called Paradise, which is equivalent to the various heavens and Caelums of the religions of the world."
Shuangtian pointed a finger towards Eva then Draco. "That means everyone who has died in the past three or so years on earth have either gone to her heaven or his hell depending on their level of karmic sin."
"As for where people went before that, don't ask me. I assume Lucifer and Amaterasu collected them into their versions of these realms at the time but who knows after they left?" Shuangtian saw the confusion in the eyes of the listeners and said this irresponsibly, clearly not willing to answer questions.
"Make sure that each and every one gets a Virtua Helmet, since that will be your most legal form of identification as it will take a brain scan of you which cannot be copied or replicated. This is not to control or track you, it's because one day in the near future, we will be able to link the digital world of Boundless to the real world, meaning that you can bring your full power from your character in Boundless World to reality." Draco explained seriously.
Hearing this, everyone's hearts nearly exploded. Today had been a roller coaster of reveals, entrances, and overturns, but this took the cake!
When Draco announced he was going to empower everyone, even with their excitement, they still felt doubt. After all, how exactly did he plan to grant everyone the kind of power that could stand up to the enemies of the Gerdo Galaxy humans?
So when they saw him empower Gerald and his group, they thought that everyone would be getting the same treatment until he quite literally shut them down on the spot the next moment. So their confusion fermented until now, when he revealed exactly what power they would be getting, and it couldn't have been any better!
You see, humans, even if they were getting freebies, preferred to get freebies with no strings attached whatsoever.
Draco empowering humanity was nice, but was it free? No, they were giving him their sovereignty, weren't they? On top of that, if they received his bloodline, what if one day they had a different opinion from him? Could they even resist if he simply 'terminated' them with a single thought using the bloodline connection?
So while they were excited, it was tempered by the reality of consequences that may come after.
But hearing that they would receive their Boundless World power truly made their hearts flutter. After all, that was power they cultivated themselves, and they had put in hours and hours of work into their battles, raids and dungeons, mastering their skills and Tradeskills as well.
If they were to receive that power, even if may be weaker than what the bloodlines might give them, that was power belonging solely to them! They would much rather prefer that than to be taken into the Lineages!
Suddenly, those who had not invested much time into Boundless or were banned altogether were filled with extreme regret such that their guts literally turned green. Many shakily held knives to their throats, not willing to live in a world where everyone was superpowered except them.
Of course, Draco was not willing to let such workers go to waste as he spoke the next moment.
"As for the fools who have not been taking Boundless seriously in this time, for whatever reason, you can rely on the Supreme Human League World Event to catch up. There will be sub-events for you fools there to help you catch up rapidly to the main playerbase."
Before they could feel happy, Draco sneered. "However, while others worked, you were sleeping, so don't expect it to be free. If a normal, up-to-date player has to put in 100% effort for the normal event, then you deadweights will need to put in 3 times the effort and suffer 5 times the pain!"
The faces of the people changed, especially those in direct attendance as many of them fell into this category. A top CEO or political leader who managed a country and you expected him to spend 24 hours a day playing some virtual reality game?
"What, do you feel it is unfair? You are even lucky my husband is kind enough to give you a chance. Left to me, you will all lag behind and lose your positions of power to common civilians with higher strength than you when the power exchange occurs." Shuangtian said cruelly after seeing the rising dissatisfaction among world leaders.
Her words made the pupils of these fellows constrict as they realized what she was saying was true. If they did not take this chance to catch up, how would they suppress the civilians who would gain great extraordinary power from playing day and night?
At that time, the world order would truly flip in a way that would not favor them, unlike this one where it was mostly considered a 'beneficial' takeover since they did not lose their authority or positions.
"And those who were banned for whatever reason, you guys must be feeling terrible, huh? Next time, don't be in a hurry to virtue signal by gangpiling on the nearest 'evil' thing, there are always hidden consequences to such things." Eva teased with a playful smile, causing those who already were on the verge of giving up to feel even worse.
"But before you end it all, there is a way out. You will be made to sign an exclusive contract with Glorygore to work for them for a period of time relating to the penalty for your actions, whatever they were, after activating a Virtua Helmet."
Eva shrugged. "As for the content of what you'll do, I don't know and I don't care. This is your only way out, so it's up to you whether you want to take it or not."
It's funny how humans, once you give them a smidgen of hope to survive, they would even bathe in dung to grasp that hope. These fellows who were previously in the pit of despair, hearing that they had a chance, were suddenly full of life and quickly bandaged the wounds they had cut on themselves.
Those who had tied a rope around their necks were like monkeys, flipping over in Spiderman-like postures and untying their bonds as if they were Padme in the arena.
Draco stood up and glanced down at everyone, the rest of the Lineage members who accompanied him doing so, all the way down to the lonely Gage at the Anansi side who had been sleeping on the job but suddenly woke up when he realized it was over.
"Today marks the establishment of the Supreme Human League! From the 1st of January next year going on, the calendar shall be reset from Anno Domini, to the Human Era, from AD to HE!"
