Chapter 1350: New Update!

Chapter 1350: New Update!

The New World Order was established as of 21st November 2070, but when the year reset in a few weeks, the entire calendar would change.

With that in mind, various political organizations and bodies began working on implementing the rules that Draco had put forth while establishing the framework of the Supreme Human League.

Normally, you'd be crazy to expect politicians and the former world powers to actively sabotage their own interests and limit their power for you, even if you were an almighty creature that could vanquish them in one blow.

However, these fellows were currently working overtime like they had been injected with chicken blood, their eyes red with hate that they couldn't get things moving faster, for they knew that only when things were fully established could they access the power that was promised them.

The age-old question came into play here.

Which was more effective, the carrot or the stick?

Turns out the answer was both.

Draco had simply taken the carrot, attached it to a nuclear warhead, and then offered it to them with a smile.

And lo and behold, the world ran toward it like a thirsty beggar spotting a flask of Eva's juices in the Sahara.

Tsk tsk!

Across the globe, citizens were adjusting to the regime change in their own unique ways.

Some cried.

Some prayed.

Some were still kneeling from the broadcast earlier and had no plans of ever getting up again.

But mostly? They queued.

Lines formed outside distribution centers faster than a sneaker drop, with former army generals rubbing shoulders with fast food workers, all jostling for a Virtua Helmet like it was the key to eternal salvation!

…which, depressingly enough, might actually have been!

Conspiracy theorists, meanwhile, were going through a second renaissance.

"I told you Boundless World was prepping us for divine conquest!" a man on a rooftop shouted while wearing a tinfoil hoodie and dual-wielding incense sticks.

His video trended for a full hour before being drowned out by footage of Eva casually smiling during the summit, instantly becoming the most viewed reaction gif of the decade.

Comparatively, the recording of Shuangtian giving the imperial decree was also passed around, and many people used it as a reaction image to silence others. Some clever fellows used it as a pickup trick, sending the video with AI-edited audio saying 'The Empress decrees that you let me smash tonight!'.

The memes were out of control.

Someone photoshopped Draco onto a currency note, while another replaced the world map with nine floating thrones.

One of Gremory's older pictures where she innocently clung to the then shameless Draco's arm was already trending with the hashtag '#SisterKnowsBest' while poor Gerald of the Primordial Descendants had become the poster child of 'when you thought you were main character but you're just DLC'.

Meanwhile, the former Primordial Descendants-turned-Immortal newbies were discovering the joys of Lineage life, namely the terrible history, the lack of external Worldly Energy to support their abilities, the great sins of the former Pangu Lineage which made some of them throw up with horror, crazy bloodline training drills to make them competent, and a Bloodline Bible thicker than a car battery.

And as the world settled, mandates were continuously drafted along with historic laws rewritten overnight by over-caffeinated interns hoping to still have jobs tomorrow, the focus quietly shifted back to the center of the storm.

Glorygore Labs.

In the deepest part of the Techno-Industrial Zone, where even drones hesitated to patrol without permission, the majestic Glorygore building stood tall with impunity.

To anyone, this place was the fanciest tech lab they had ever seen, with many things that were even advanced for 2070, especially the android guards who patrolled the entrance and the streets around coldly, deterring casual passersby from passing through.

And there, standing under the entrance were Draco, Eva, and Shuangtian… the Evil Trio!

"Tsk, I haven't been here in ages. The last time I came was with Jada and Jade back then on a commission to discover the secrets of Boundless World." Draco remarked with a hint of nostalgia.

Shuangtian glanced at him askance. "You almost died Draco. If you weren't lucky that this AI has some sort of fixation on you, it would have left you to perish when you finally rebuilt your body."

Draco touched his chin with an amused smile. "Yes, I was a bit reckless that time."

Eva rolled her eyes. "Next time, make sure to bring us along. No more solo adventurers, why struggle alone all the time when you have us?"

Draco nodded. "I fully agree. In the beginning we had so much to do to set up our foundation for the future so we had to take separate tasks, and this persisted for a bit even when Shuangtian came. But at a point, it became redundant to split our forces since right now we have less pressing issues and more free time to wait things out."

"Huh? Since when were you so agreeable?" Shuangtian asked with surprise.

Draco chuckled with amusement. "Firstly, I am not hostile to my loved ones, only my enemies. Even Vegeta treasures his bath time with Bulma, so why shouldn't I pamper my two beauties?"

Saying this, he grabbed the waists of Eva and Shuangtian and pulled them close with a casual smile. Shuangtian chuckled and also placed her arm around his back, leaning into the embrace while Eva squirmed a bit in fake resistance but eventually leaned in as well.

Like this, Draco teleported with them down into the special layer where the AI actually resided, where they saw Amber waiting for them while standing in front of the giant brain in the vat of greenish-blue liquid.

Seeing the trio clinging on each other like a lecherous couple, Amber's casual smile weakened slightly as envy surged into her heart. While she may have gotten what she wanted, she was still a human being and her greed made her want more.

Where she was previously happy with being seeded by the target of her obsession, she now wanted to be a part of his family!

But that was not part of the deal, and even being seeded was only because a new 'driver' had taken the helm of Draco, one who did not like to leave unfinished business behind. If it had been the previous guy, he might have let her rot to death in waiting, Amber suspected.

"Oh? Her virginity is gone and her soul is pulsing with your frequency. Did you rape her?" Shuangtian asked with raised eyebrows as she scanned Amber.

"Yep, I took it, but I am not so crass as to rape. I am not exactly like your damned cousin you know." Draco snorted with dissatisfaction and let go of Shuangtian.

Shuangtian smiled, took Draco's hand and then placed it back around her waist, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Of course, of course, who doesn't know that my handsome pretty boy husband is a chick magnet? Why I bet her banal canal just happened to land upon your mighty rod!"

Shameless!

Eva was incredibly disgusted by Shuangtian's behavior of flattering the enemy. What happened to their sisterhood agreement to oppose Draco at every turn to limit his power over them? Was she going to betray?!

Draco himself was pleasantly surprised, but smiled widely. He now let go of Eva and hugged Shuangtian deeply, his other hand roaming downwards towards her plentiful backside that her loose Empress robe could not suppress at all.

"Hehe, that's right! That's why you are my FAVOURITE Shuang'er!" Saying this, Draco looked pointedly at Eva with a smirk of mocking on his face, one that was mirrored by the shameless Shuangtian who blushed as Draco manhandled her.

Eva's expression became ugly as she was suppressed immediately, but she grit her teeth and refused to submit! Maybe Riveting Night would bend, but for her, Eva, it was best to be aloof and divine! She could never bend the knee as shamelessly as Shuangtian.

Seeing that she resisted the easy way out, Draco was impressed while Shuangtian tsked with disdain. "Why fight it? Do you know how intoxicating it is to be in his arms? Oh wait, you actually do! Yet you run from it? Pathetic!"

"Ao Shuangtian, you are courting death!!" Eva screamed as she couldn't take it anymore.

Draco quickly placed a hand on Eva's head, who was about to charge and rip Shuangtian apart. "Now now, calm down dear Eva. My darling Shuangtian can sometime be a bit naughty, but doesn't that make her even more cute? heh heh!"

Watching them interact like this, Amber's jealousy spiked further. Even with the previous 'driver', this trio did not seem to properly mesh as well as when it was just Eva alone. Most of the time, they seemed awkward or stunted, as if just two would be better off without the third, but now they seemed like one perfect unit.

To that end, she released a light cough to capture everyone's attention, which made the Evil Trio stop their antics as they remembered why they even came here.

Draco stepped forth with a smile. "Good news, we killed some more primordials, namely two of them. Here are their Origin Sources from Gaia."

Two bright balls of Origin Energy appeared in Draco's palm the next moment, floating over towards the AI in the vat slowly. Amber saw this and was pleasantly surprised, turning around and bending down to operate the single computer terminal that connected to the AI, which only she could understand.

When the orange energy entered the giant brain, it flashed and glowed for a few seconds, causing the room to glow blindingly for a few seconds until it slowly receded. Then the AI brain which had initially been the size of a large SUV then had gone down to the size of a normal saloon car had shrunk down again, becoming the size of a large refrigerator.

Its intensity - in the senses of the Evil Trio - also increased greatly, becoming akin to a minor primordial of its own.

"Alright, nice showing off. What are the actual changes and benefits?" Eva, still annoyed by the earlier bullying, decided to take it out on the innocent AI who couldn't fight back.

Amber's lips twitched but she still spoke. "Firstly, the player rank cap has increased again. Before your first infusion of Origin Energy, she could only handle players up to Rank 6 across the board, and Rank 7 would be difficult. After your first infusion, this got released to Rank 7 and even allowed some players like your core members to become True Gods."

Amber turned to the Evil Trio with a nod. "Now, all players should be able to become True Gods with ease, and your core members can even ascend to Origin Gods if you use the right and orthodox methods."

"Not bad. What about the stats?" Shuangtian asked with a look of satisfaction.

"Yes, before the first infusion, we could only display stats up to 1000 points as you remember, then you increased it to 100,000 after the first infusion. Now, we can handle up to a million points, which should be about the peak of your Semi-Eternal classes."

Amber then continued. "On top of that the stat feedback to players has increased greatly. Previously, it was 1% per week until they caught up with their in-game character for pod users and 0.1% for helmet users. Now, we can feedback around 10% per week to pod users and 1% to helmet users."

"Of course, we will also work in tandem with your World Event to handle the true power transfer, so the feedback has been halted."

Amber glanced at the shrunken AI brain. "On top of that are various other benefits like increased quality of enemies, especially in experience gain rates across the board, more areas, new classes, new skills, new spells, new abilities, new items, and equipment."

"Unfortunately for you, this also means your various enemies, like the War Manic Pavilion in the void have become stronger, and will soon succeed in creating their prototype Draco killer where they previously had no chance." Amber concluded as she stared at the Evil Trio.

But seeing as they did not seem bothered, she sighed and waved a hand. "Anyway, you and everyone else will have to wait for about a day, as she will roll out her latest update. Be sure to log in to check the rest of the changes then!"
