Chapter 4150: Hello, Bug
Far away, Luo Chan continuously teleported about until it found the Immortal beast.
The monster had not gone very far. It was too vengeful a creature, and it had been hiding just beyond the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm.
It was a good thing that it had not fled, as it was the perfect tool to destroy the Tianyuan.
Luo Chan could not actually understand it; given the number of Immortals in the human civilization, why had they not killed the beast? Were they unable to find it?
The bug approached the monster with practiced ease. Before, it had needed the humanoid Verdant Sage Immortals, as well as others, to support it in order to teleport the Immortal monster, but that was no longer necessary. A small bit of green stalk appeared beneath Luo Chan before creeping forward.
Inside a meteorite, the Immortal beast had shrunk down substantially in order to nurse its wounds. It occasionally turned its eye to stare in the direction of the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm. Only one of its eyes remained, and yet the hatred in it could not be erased.
It felt a great deal of hatred: towards the Tri-Azure Sword Intent that had once severed pieces of its body, towards the civilization before it, towards the insects, and even towards everything.
However, it needed to wait for the right opportunity.
Luo Chan suddenly appeared, and the tiny segment of green stalk flared with light, momentarily freezing the Immortal beast in place. That one instant was all that Luo Chan needed. However, the bug had not expected someone else to need a mere moment to take action: Greater Sancte Blood Tower.
The moment the green stalk appeared, Blood Tower did as well.
Just as Luo Chan was about to teleport the Immortal beast away, a Blood Tower surrounded the bug, making escape impossible.
Luo Chan was aghast. What is this?
The Immortal beast let out a roar. An enemy had appeared.
“Shut up!” Scarlet light blazed with enough force to shake the cosmos. It took on the shape of a blood-red saber that slammed into the beast’s hide, forcing it down.
The Immortal monster was terrified. This was a truly powerful being.
Lifeforce surged across the monster’s body as its heart pounded. Thump, thump, thump, thump.
Greater Sancte Blood Tower smirked. “Just as Lu Yin said. Your tricks were seen through long ago. You’ve been used by us, and even by mere bugs. For an Immortal to sink so low is truly a disgrace.”
With that, he stepped forward, appearing inside his Blood Tower. When his eyes fell upon Luo Chan, the man’s smile widened. “Caught you, little bug.”
Luo Chan was terrified. They had been completely outmaneuvered by this unknown Immortal.
Roar!
The Immortal beast started to grow once more in an attempt to break free from the Blood Tower.
The Greater Sancte opened a hand as a long saber took form, which he then swung down upon the beast. “Did you have fun while I was gone? You now get to keep me company.”
Ssss.
The beast was split cleanly in two, and the blood channel along the back of the blade instantly filled a third of the way. The saber’s icy gleam reflected the Greater Sancte Blood Tower’s bloodthirsty face, driving Luo Chan into utter despair.
This was a human who could not be provoked.
Of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s Greater Sancti, Green Lotus was considered first in strength, while Blood Tower was regarded as the second. If not for Greater Sancte Awe Gate fusing with Mi Jin’s spirit seed with the Nirvana Tree Path, she would still be considered weaker than Blood Tower. Even so, before accepting Seed Transfusion, Awe Gate had still been able to fight the two Immortal Verdant Sages at once, which indicated how high Greater Sancte Blood Tower’s strength was.
Sensing Greater Sancte Blood Tower’s bloodlust and primal desire to fight, Luo Chan’s heart grew cold. This man was even more terrifying than Awe Gate.
Still, this was not the time to dwell on such a thing. Master, we’ve walked into a trap!
At the same time, the Immortal Lord peered into the distance while suffering from a rising sense of unease. Luo Chan had not returned even though the Immortal Lord’s power had been used. Something had happened.
They turned and attacked the Allsense Megaverse, all hesitation vanishing. No matter what might have happened, they would eliminate Lu Yin first.
If Luo Chan was fine, this was the ideal moment to act. If not, then they would trade Lu Yin’s life for Luo Chan’s.
The human Immortals were all in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse and thus could not help.
Even the human karmic expert could not help Lu Yin when he was beyond the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm.
Within the Allsense Megaverse, Lu Yin let out a breath as he watched a green color spread across the Aevum Inch. Immortal Lord, is that you?
Mo Bai was thrilled. Master has finally arrived!
Standing beside her, Luo Yan settled a hand on her shoulder.
Disgust erupted within Mo Bai as she looked at Luo Yan. However, instead of the expected infatuation, she found that he was smiling at her. Worse yet, it was a smile that expressed scorn and a pure loathing that mirrored her own.
How could he feel disgust? He hates me? Impossible. He clearly cares for me.
“Hello, bug.”
From outside of the megaverse, the green stalk moved closer. Its radiance filled the cosmos as green beams tore through the void to skewer Lu Yin.
Lu Yin just showed a small smile. “Senior, it looks like you’re about to be busy.”
Master Qing Cao stepped in front of the younger man, staring up at the sky, his mind in chaos. “You used this old man.”
“Don’t say it like that, Senior. You’re also protecting your own people. There are quite a few people in these two batches from the Spirit Nidus, just as I promised,” Lu Yin answered with a smile.
Master Qing Cao shook his head. “I am no match for this Immortal Lord, and I may not be able to save you. You must seek your own luck.”
With that, grass sprouted from underfoot. It surged upwards, spreading out toward the green light.
Outside the Allsense Megaverse, the Immortal Lord was startled by the reaction. Another Immortal? How many Immortals does this human civilization have?
Still, a single Immortal would not be enough to stop them.
Lu Yin looked up from within the megaverse as Master Qing Cao fought with the Immortal Lord. The battle was majestic and all-encompassing.
Upon returning to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse from the Mindscape Megaverse, Lu Yin had gone to find Master Qing Cao. To be precise, Greater Sancte Green Lotus had found the man, but he had left it to Lu Yin to raise a certain question.
It was a question that they had wanted to ask before the journey to the Thread of Heaven, but no one had been able to find Master Qing Cao at that time.
Master Qing Cao had indeed given an answer, but it had been the worst one imaginable. Humanity was still unable to see the limits of Obscura’s power.
Leveraging that answer, Lu Yin had then asked Master Qing Cao to assist with one task. If the man agreed, then regardless of what Master Qing Cao did after that, people from the Spirit Nidus would receive the same treatment as those from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse and the Tianyuan. Humanity would evacuate people from each megaverse to preserve a spark, and the Spirit Nidus would be included in that legacy.
Master Qing Cao had agreed, which was why he had traveled to the Allsense Megaverse.
Looking up, Lu Yin could see Master Qing Cao fight at full power for the first time. The Immortal was stronger than expected, but he was still far from measuring up to the Immortal Lord.
Master Qing Cao was not a fighter, unlike Awe Gate or Greater Sancte Blood Tower. Instead, Qing Cao was more similar to Ku Deng.
Even so, the man was an Immortal, and the amount of Lifeforce and Immortal matter at his disposal were astonishing.
Across the Aevum Inch, swathes of grass shielded the Allsense Megaverse. The scale exceeded all of Lu Yin’s expectations, and the grass was even able to temporarily block the Immortal Lord’s green light.
But the green stalk soon descended, crushing the grass.
Master Qing Cao tossed his bamboo basket forward. It unraveled to form a single piece of bamboo. Lifeforce coursed along it as though alive, and the bamboo shot towards the green stalk to bind it.
Unfortunately, the moment that it made contact, the bamboo snapped.
Master Qing Cao retreated again and again. He drew in a deep breath. Countless blades of grass stood up, breathing like people. Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale...
Watching, Lu Yin was suddenly reminded of his first meeting with Master Qing Cao, when the man had said he was “treating” Venom Flowzone. He had likened the flowzone itself to a living being, its rampant toxins to disordered breathing, and claimed that any natural state, any structure that governed the workings of a megaverse, could breathe and possess life.
Could this be the cosmic law that Master Qing Cao resonated with?
All things, even natural states and operations of existence, were breathing.
Inhale... exhale. Inhale... exhale. Inhale... exhale.
The green stalk actually stalled. It even swayed, as though moved by a passing breeze.
In another moment, all of the grass simply shattered. Master Qing Cao coughed up blood as he reeled back several steps, his face ashen.
He could not endure.
The gap between him and the Immortal Lord was simply too vast. Qing Cao could not stop the enemy Immortal.
Even after so long, Lu Yin had still never seen the Immortal Lord’s true form. Green Lotus had mentioned that the green stalk was not the Immortal Lord’s body, but in that case, what was? Lu Yin intended to find out.
He took a step forward, arriving at Master Qing Cao’s side.
The Immortals expression was grim even as he offered a wry smile. “Lord Lu, you really took advantage of me this time. This Immortal Lord is a true powerhouse, even among Immortals. Of everyone in human civilization, only Greater Sancte Green Lotus can contend with this creature.”
Lu Yin nodded. “Then we should ask Senior Green Lotus to step forward.”
As he spoke, the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm expanded, instantly enveloping the Allsense Megaverse.
It had previously reached past the Allsense Megaverse, but to lure the Immortal Lord over, Greater Sancte Green Lotus had retracted it, making the Immortal Lord believe that the Allsense Megaverse lay beyond the human civilization.
Inside and outside the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm were entirely different concepts, as was the power that Green Lotus could exert.
As the karmic domain fell upon them, the Immortal Lord immediately lashed out. The green stalk grew without limit, reaching over to strike the Allsense Megaverse.
The pressure of the sky falling upon him returned to Lu Yin. Master Qing Cao instantly withdrew. He had already done all he could, and he refused to die fighting the Immortal Lord on Lu Yin’s behalf.
Even fighting against another Immortal increased one’s karmic chain.
Qing Cao had already paid a heavy price.
Lu Yin’s gaze sharpened, and his body withered with Extremes Must Be Reversed. At the same time, he merged with the will of the megaverse.
His figure abruptly expanded as he fused with the entire Allsense Megaverse, leaving everyone within it dumbfounded.
Both Master Qing Cao and Greater Sancte Green Lotus had witnessed this phenomenon before, and yet they were still completely shocked.
Lu Yin could merge with the will of a megaverse, but it should only be with the Tianyuan where he had been acknowledged, right? How could he accomplish the same thing in the Allsense Megaverse?
None of that megaverse’s creatures had ever acknowledged him.
Lu Yin thrust a palm forward. He had become the largest figure in the Aevum Inch, and he directly clashed with the green stalk.
Green light flared, hammering against Lu Yin.
There was a boom, and the Allsense Megaverse swayed. The Aevum Inch shattered in layers that kept spreading out. The aftermath of the clash far exceeded anything that had appeared during Master Qing Cao’s clash with the Immortal Lord.
Qing Cao himself was stunned. If Lu Yin was able to merge with the will of any megaverse, it meant that he genuinely possessed the combat power of an Immortal without their restraints. How had he accomplished this?
Qing Cao had assumed that leaving the Tianyuan would cause Lu Yin to lose the ability to merge with the megaverse, as well as the ability to use the River of Aeons, both of which would greatly weaken him. Some time ago, Lu Yin had only barely managed to endure against Lan Meng by using the red line to provide him with a surge of Obscura’s red energy. This time, it was completely different.
Blood appeared at the corners of Lu Yin’s lips. Even when merged with the Allsense Megaverse, he was still unable to fully withstand the Immortal Lord’s strike.
The Immortal Lord was powerful enough that even Green Lotus considered them a serious opponent.
Another green beam roared forward. Spreading out from the Aevum Inch, pressure dropped upon the entire Allsense Megaverse.
“Strike now,” Green Lotus’s voice reached Lu Yin’s ears.
Lu Yin looked up. “Wait. It’s not quite time yet.”
With that, he ended the union with the will of the megaverse. Fractures spread across the Allsense Megaverse as the Immortal Lord’s power pressed down to crush the entire megaverse.
They no longer cared about whether the megaverse was humanity’s evacuation site or if Obscura had a gate nearby. They would kill all of the humans and capture Lu Yin. Luo Chan could not be lost.
As one of the few Aberrants in the Aevum Inch, Lu Yin was more valuable to humanity than an Immortal.
