Chapter 4381: That Dao Sword

Chapter 4381: That Dao Sword

Lu Yin teleported away, but the moment he vanished, all of those points of light passed through space, vanishing with him.

He appeared far away and slowly lowered his head. Blood poured from his body. Dozens of those points of light had pierced through him, instantly severely wounding him.

He spat out a mouthful of blood and stared into the distance in shock.

Ming Yu returned a mocking gaze as it stared at Lu Yin with cold eyes. “Do you really think that a mere Aberrant can fight someone who resonates with two cosmic laws? I am Ming Yu of the Plume Immortals! What are you? Just a human. A lowly species daring to step above your station. Die!”

It teleported close to Lu Yin as Godplume Spears shot at him. Lu Yin immediately opened up more distance to prevent the spears from colliding with each other when they arrived within a certain distance from him, but he could not avoid them all. Two spears collided, and the resulting point flashed before piercing his body.

He coughed up more blood. His face grew pale. Not even divine energy could block these attacks.

Ming Yu’s talons grabbed at the cosmos, making it seem as if the Aevum Inch were only inches wide. The bird manipulated space itself in an attempt to suppress Lu Yin beneath its talons.

Atop the canopy of the great tree, the Immortal Lord remained silent. Lu Yin was strong, far stronger than they had expected. After some time, the human Aberrant had reached a level where he was capable of fighting even Ming Yu, which meant that he could also fight against the Immortal Lord.

But so what? Ming Yu was no ordinary powerhouse. It was a Plume Immortal, a member of the strongest civilizations in the Aevum Inch. The man was already finished.

Lu Yin lifted his head. There was blood at the corners of his mouth. The pain kept his mind clear. His power was still not enough. Ming Yu was too powerful. Its abilities were difficult to counter, especially the Guard of Truth and Falsehood. An Immortal could forcibly break the bird’s law with their own world, but Lu Yin could not. He was not an Immortal, and Ming Yu’s realm greatly exceeded his own.

Lu Yin glanced into the distance at the Immortal Lord. That creature still had no intention of taking any action.

The Immortal Lord met Lu Yin’s gaze, and as they did so, their uneasy feeling grew stronger than ever. Why did they feel as if Lu Yin wanted them to fight?

Ming Yu’s talons descended, falling upon Lu Yin.

He took a deep breath. There’s no avoiding it. What a pity.

Earlier, in the Mirari Realm, he had asked Chu Songyun to help him create a birdcage with Senior Jiu Wen’s borrowed red umbrella, but that cage was not capable of countering a creature like Ming Yu. This bird’s defenses could not be easily broken by Lu Yin’s current strength, whereas such a cage was unnecessary against a Plume Immortal like Yue Lu, as Crow Immobilization alone was enough. The cage had become somewhat useless.

Lu Yin decided to use the pain in his body as the key to staying conscious, much like how the death of the Mountain Sword Sect’s ancestor had once kept him sane. He added the third colored line of divine energy.

As the talons slammed down, a blue line shot out from within Lu Yin and merged with the combined red and silver lines.

At that moment, a surge of boiling divine energy shot upwards. Terrifying power almost washed away Lu Yin’s sense of reason. He grabbed at one of his bleeding wounds, and the resulting burst of pain restored a bit of clarity to his mind. As the talons fell, he raised his head and roared. Divine energy erupted from him, blasting towards the talons.

The bird’s attack was stopped, and an overwhelming force pushed Ming Yu back bit by bit. The bird was shocked. How can this be? Tri-colored divine energy?

The tri-colored divine energy exploded to form what looked like a rainbow, while also settling into a cocoon of mist that surrounded Lu Yin.

Ming Yu stared on in a daze before letting out a shriek. Godplume Spears rained down upon the cocoon of divine energy. Spears that could pierce anything slammed right into it. Most of them sank in a bit but were quickly stopped by the churning divine energy.

The Plume Immortal’s pupils shrank as it spread its wings and released its full power. More Godplume Spears rose up and surrounded the cocoon from all directions. If they could not simply stab through the divine energy, then they would strike when Lu Yin emerged. He could not avoid the Guard of Truth and Falsehood.

Inside the cocoon, the three colors of divine energy shifted continuously. Outside, Godplume Spears kept colliding in numbers far greater than when they had first severely wounded Lu Yin.

Ming Yu refused to believe that all these points of attack would not be enough to kill this human. No matter how powerful his divine energy was, he could not possibly withstand so many Godplume Spears at once. Die. Die. Die!

Inside the cocoon, Lu Yin opened his eyes and watched as the spears outside collided endlessly. The first time he used the tri-colored divine energy transformation, he had simply endured. He had not been able to raise any sort of defenses when fighting against Ni Ren, and he had used the pure brute force granted by the endless divine energy.

But right now, his last thread of reason told him that simply enduring these attacks might well mean death. There were simply too many Godplume Spears. He might be able to endure ten at once, but 100, 1,000, or more would be impossible.

The Heaven’s Sight on his forehead locked onto Ming Yu as the cocoon of divine energy slowly faded. Ming Yu’s eyes flared. Here it comes. Die!

Suddenly, Ming Yu could not move. Black lines of various lengths had appeared around it and locked it in place. What is this?

Lu Yin teleported in front of the bird. Countless points of light appeared all around him, originating from the collisions between the Godplume Spears. The Guard of Truth and Falsehood had created a field of destruction that spread across the cosmos.

They completely surrounded Lu Yin, and it was impossible to dodge them. However, Ming Yu stood in front of him, frozen in place. The bird’s massive body blocked all the attacks that came from the front of Lu Yin, while Manifestation Beyond the Pupil and the fifteen black plates appeared behind him along with the churning divine energy as a defensive barrier.

Blinding light flooded the cosmos, illuminating the dark expanse of the Aevum Inch.

Ming Yu screamed as half of the Godplume Spears struck its massive body. Not even it could fully withstand the endless attacks. Blood sprayed out as its feathers were ripped apart.

The scream terrified the various birds which circled the lower parts of the Plume Immortals’ great tree.

Lu Yin did not fare well either. Even with the fifteen armor plates protecting him, he was still forced to simply endure roughly one fifth of the attacks. Half of his body was shattered. Without his immense reserves of divine energy, this would have annihilated him completely.

There were simply too many Godplume Spears. Ming Yu had intended to kill Lu Yin in an instant, but it had instead taken most of the damage itself.

When the attacks ended, Lu Yin turned and struck Ming Yu with a palm.

At that moment, a massive beak appeared. It belonged to the Immortal bird that had been protecting the lower regions of the great tree.

Lu Yin casually waved a hand, and a beam of divine energy shot through space, instantly severely injuring the bird. Ordinary Immortals could not withstand an attack from Lu Yin’s divine energy at this moment.

A strand of energy arrived from afar. It did not target Lu Yin, but rather Ming Yu. This attack came from the Immortal Lord. Their One Breath Art compressed their Lifeforce into a single beam, and it struck Ming Yu, knocking the bird out of the black lines formed by Crow Immobilization. Ming Yu awkwardly flew away while staring at Lu Yin in shock. “The Ten-Eyed Divine Crow... That is the power of the Ten-Eyed Divine Crow!”

Lu Yin stared at Ming Yu, and the bird suddenly shut its eyes. “Do not look at the eye on his forehead! Insect, kill him!”

The Immortal Lord finally joined the fight. They truly did not want to fight against Lu Yin, and yet Ming Yu had been severely wounded. Even if the wounds were a result of the bird’s own power, Lu Yin’s strength was still absolutely terrifying.

Don’t look at the eye on his forehead? The Immortal Lord released their full power. The Green Stalk Realm spread out as countless green stalks took form. The Immortal Lord’s Lifeforce surged a hundredfold in an instant, and they attacked Lu Yin with their One Breath Art.

Lu Yin was already extremely familiar with the Immortal Lord’s abilities, even though the Immortal Lord had no memories of having ever fought Lu Yin before.

Lu Yin raised both arms. One struck the One Breath Art while the other attacked Ming Yu. Two beams of divine energy pierced the cosmos.

The One Breath Art was immediately forced back.

Ming Yu teleported away, appearing beside the Immortal Lord as a Godplume Spear shot at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin teleported above his two opponents. Ming Yu and the Immortal Lord both teleported away in an instant, one by using its own power and the other by using Luo Chan’s abilities.

The Immortal Lord dodged Lu Yin’s attack while unleashing their Nine Turn Qianyuan. Enormous green stalks pressed down upon him.

Ming Yu raised its claws and struck.

It felt like the Aevum Inch itself was being replaced. Lu Yin looked up. His consciousness was being suppressed, and he was being pushed towards madness, and yet a lingering fragment of clarity told him the moment had finally arrived.

He released his Karmic Dao. Above him, the green stalks and talons blocked his sight while pressing down upon him, yet it also obscured the Immortal Lord and Ming Yu’s vision.

Lu Yin raised a hand to the Immortal Lord. Come forth, Dao Sword.

Whoosh.

The Dao Sword burst out from the Immortal Lord to slash at Ming Yu. This Dao Sword was completely different from any that Lu Yin had used earlier in this battle. Before, his Dao Swords had only been formed from a small bit of karma and had been launched quickly to force Ming Yu to dodge. However, they also served another purpose in causing the bird to briefly forget that Lu Yin could use karma in other manners.

This Dao Sword had consumed an immense amount of karma.

So far, there had not been enough time to unleash such a powerful Dao Sword, as Ming Yu would have noticed, but the bird could have never imagined such a powerful attack to be hiding within the Immortal Lord.

Ming Yu stared at Lu Yin, having never expected a Dao Sword to strike from its side. When the blade struck, Ming Yu’s eyes flared in confusion, and its aura rapidly weakened. Lu Yin did not know what bit of the bird’s karma had been severed, but the power of this Dao Sword was enough to reduce Ming Yu’s strength by half a level or even a full level.

The talons froze. Lu Yin seized the opening to teleport in front of Ming Yu, meeting the bird’s gaze with Heaven’s Sight.

Ming Yu had even forgotten that Lu Yin possessed Crow Immobilization, and it was instantly frozen in place.

Lu Yin raised a hand. He grabbed his scythe and compressed the roiling divine energy into Aberrant before slashing the scythe downwards.

Behind the two, the Immortal Lord stared blankly. This Dao Sword had emerged from their own body and they had felt that very clearly. So the mysterious injuries from before were indeed caused by him...

The Immortal Lord understood that Lu Yin had planted the power of karma within their body. At that moment, the Immortal Lord felt as if their life might be in Lu Yin’s hands, and they did not dare to act against him.

If Lu Yin was able to plant one Dao Sword, then he could certainly plant another.

Ming Yu shrieked and spat out blood. The terrifying slash had nearly split the bird from its head down. The scythe slashed again. The sudden pain jolted Ming Yu back to awareness, but it could not teleport away while it was locked in place by Crow Immobilization.

Lu Yin slashed again and again with Aberrant. Ming Yu’s body was ripped apart repeatedly as blood and flesh clung to its feathers. Its eyes stared at Lu Yin, but the bird could also see the stunned Immortal Lord. Why are you not acting? Bug!

The Immortal Lord stared at Lu Yin’s back as an indescribable chill enveloped them. They had no idea what to do at this moment.
