Chapter 1880: Chapter 1872: Protective & Encouraging Husband

"Your Majesty!" Yao Houyi shouted, performing the salute of the Neo-Dawn Empire. Su Mei silently executed the same salute. Both of their Neo-Dawn Visualization Methods activated fully, and they opened their psyche willingly.

With the Celestial Eyes of Spiritual Divinity exerted to their greatest limits, Wei Wuyin surveyed the surroundings on every conceivable and perceivable spectrum his perception allowed. As the two Mental Incantations activated, his Second Mind accepted their memories of recent events, emulating their experiences and integrating them as his own.

Originally, the woman was hazy, indistinct, and indistinguishable in shape and form. Her words were difficult to retain, concealed by a mysterious force. If Wei Wuyin were to ask them each what had happened, they would answer with thoughtful hums that led nowhere. However, while this perception-distorting and spiritual memory-obfuscating spells she used were exquisite and exceptionally high-leveled, Wei Wuyin's mixture of mental techniques far exceeded her expectation.

He didn't bother asking them questions either.

Earlier, he had lost sight of Su Mei. This hadn't happened once since they left the Onestar Galaxy. He had always kept a wisp of his perception focused on her, a habit reinforced by the abnormal circumstances of her life, especially given how the world sought to eradicate her as an error. He feared that a mere moment of carelessness would lead to a lifetime of regret. This was further pushed after he swore that vow in his steadfast proposal: "Su Mei, my Su Mei: Will you do me the incomparable honor of becoming your husband? To be together not just in this moment, but until our souls perish, and for every moment we have breath in our lungs from here on. Whether that be minutes, hours, decades, or eons."

Due to this, he tried to descend here without hesitation through the Void, yet something had impeded his arrival. In his perception, it was a bubble-like membrane that encapsulated the entirety of the subspace realm. Without the slightest hesitation, he struck out with his saber. A single slash imbued with Omega Saber Mystic Force, Element's Profound Saber Energy-enhancement, and three Major Laws, including the bane of all barriers' existence—Annihilation.

It lasted a single hit, bursting from the might of his strike. However, his travel in the Void wasn't nigh-instant, and seemed to have been delayed by a zone of gelatin-like mana, condensed in a way that was utterly new to him. A secondary barrier. With four Zenith Origin States' Mana Dominance and Sempiternal Resonance Domain, he burrowed into the zone like a digger shoveling out a dirt hole in the ground.

Eventually, he got to the boundary of the subspace outside the Void, finding a third barrier had been formed to hinder any intruders yet again. The barrier was a dark-red mist, and it contained the properties of decay and absorption. This mist caused him to pause.

He sensed a nefarious, sinful energy within. The mist was very similar to, if not the same as, Soul Deterge Mist that he had sensed in Hell, while the sinful energy was unlike any other external aura of sin he'd felt from Sinners. This wasn't a loose aura, but pure, active, and refined energy. Only when the Bloodline of Sin Tattoo activated to defend against the Heavenly Daos' reprisal against killing Blessed did he ever feel that type of energy.

"..." Fortunately, the mist dissipated. Then, and only then, was he able to enter. After briefly inspecting the surroundings and ensuring that Su Mei, Yao Houyi, Shui Fengbao, and Pakhet were safe, he tested his Temporal Eye's ability to view events of the past, failed to do so, and was left with viewing their direct memories.

"Who was that woman…?" Wei Wuyin softly muttered as his Celestial Eyes narrowed. The woman had an incredible amount of energy, and her spiritual projection was enough to act against Su Mei.

'Woman? Was there someone spying on us?' Yao Houyi was somewhat confused by Wei Wuyin's words, but given that he was present, there was likely a Supreme Sage expert present, potentially trying to intervene in Shui Fengbao's cultivation. With him here now, there was no need to feel any worries. He calmed down and stayed alert.

Wei Wuyin didn't find Yao Houyi's state of confusion strange given the manipulation and distortion spells activated, indirectly affecting his perception and memory. Instead, he looked at Su Mei.

She was staring at him with a tinge of worry. Earlier, she didn't speak to the woman once. Her instincts told her that doing so would lead to an extreme calamity. She followed through, staying silent and waiting for Wei Wuyin to act.

Wei Wuyin's gaze softened slightly. 'Feigning weakness was smart,' he mentally transmitted to Su Mei.

Su Mei's lips curved into a slight smile, nodding as she asked mentally: 'Who was she?'

'Don't know. I have an idea, but I can't be certain.' Wei Wuyin answered honestly, yet he kept the thoughts of the Inheritors of Sin to himself. For Su Mei, just the reassurance that this woman wasn't outside his depth of knowledge was enough. She relaxed in her heart.

'I sensed that she was only a Spiritual Projection. But she held no malice within her gaze and no killing intent in her movements. All of her focus was on hindering your entry and maintaining those spells of hers.' Su Mei explained concisely. If the woman was aware that her intentions were read like an open book and that her distorting spells were exposed by a Mystic Ascendant Realm cultivator, who knew what her reaction would be like?

'I see.' Wei Wuyin mused regarding whether that three-fold barrier was meant for him or just any Supreme Sage seeking to investigate their cut-off perceptions. A typical Microheaven Envoy without his Sempiternal Resonance Domain would have met an impassable barrier. Taking a step back, the first barrier would have hindered them entirely.

As for Su Mei, her strength was purposefully restrained; when she acted earlier against the woman, she barely used 1% of her true strength. The fact that the mysterious woman was unable to clearly determine things despite her knowledge and high cultivation base meant her senses were lacking through the Spiritual Projection. Still, she had made a few inferences that caused Wei Wuyin to note them for further investigation, even if she was wrong about them.

If the attitude of the mysterious woman changed, Wei Wuyin had no doubt she would have instantly struck out with her full strength, shocking the woman like an assassin, capable of buying time or dealing sufficient damage to disperse the projection.

If there was an attribute that Wei Wuyin felt inferior to Su Mei in, her speed of acceleration was outrageously abnormal. In a straight race, Wei Wuyin had no doubt that in terms of raw speed at equal cultivation, he would take a loss. The only factor that would matter would be distance. The further the race's path from start to finish, the greater his chances of winning due to unsurpassed stamina and rising output of energy, until a certain distance all but guaranteed his victory.

As for the language she used earlier, Wei Wuyin was a Magi. All known languages could be deciphered, either through contextual meaning or direct translation. In this case, the Radiance of ✧✮✧ translates to: "Radiance of Primordial Sin."

"Are you going to stay, Lord Wei?" Su Mei inquired vocally. This hunt was hers. While she was keenly aware that Wei Wuyin was assisting from the sidelines, actively participating would all but guarantee that this scheme of hers was achieved. After all, the core was only the icing on the cake.

She wanted the real treasure.

"No. I'll leave it to you. This was your plan—see it through to the end." Wei Wuyin only thought about it for a brief second before answering. Entering the core was already pushing it, and if he came to involve himself so directly in the affairs of his wives, they would no longer have challenges or victories they could call their own. All of their achievements wouldn't be theirs gained by deriving help from reliable resources, but his.

After all, who doesn't get help from their companions? It's the ability to form those companions that mattered.

Who doesn't get help cultivating through external resources? Gaining the ability to obtain or acquire those resources through connections or strength.

Nothing they used was against the ways of a cultivator, even if it meant accessing his wealth.

Na Xinyi and Xue Yifei would definitely debate him thoroughly for acting that way, and so would Cao Cuifen. If they can't handle things themselves after his full support, they should be allowed to fail. And if they do fail, they can just call him for help after. Who would shame them for asking their husband to open a jar of pickles as long as they tried to open it first?!

Su Mei nodded. She was fully capable of handling this battle for treasure. And if she wasn't, she would wait for her reliable husband to arrive. The feeling of knowing he was there made her heart feel comfortably warm, her soul relaxed, and her spirit filled with rising ambition. No wonder Na Xinyi liked this feeling.

Wei Wuyin chuckled, still capable of sensing her every emotion and thought. He gave her a teasing look, yet she stared at him without blushing in the slightest. She began to imagine all sorts of…

"Okay. Okay," Wei Wuyin chuckled as he sent one last glance at Yao Houyi. With a smile, a Void Portal was conjured behind him. Entering the Void Portal, he said with a wave: "We."

Su Mei kept her steady gaze on the Void Portal until it completely vanished as an incomparably rare yet extraordinarily beautiful smile that could sway the hearts of divinities and devils formed for a brief, easily missable second, whispering with a glint of happiness in her eyes. "We."

She turned toward the raging combat occurring just outside the subspace realm's boundary, involving Su Yi and a formation of True Sages and Enlightened Sages. Whether it was there or the incessant fluctuations of the triple threat match against the Starfish Star-Devourer, the artificial Shard of Heaven born from a Microheaven, or the Alchemic Knight of a newly minted Heavenly Saint Alchemist, she was ready to respond accordingly.

Whoever that woman was, if she showed any form of malicious intent, she wouldn't hold back.
