Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1802: Essence Spirit Qi & Dao

Chapter 1802: Essence, Spirit, Qi & Dao

Wang Wei has already theorized about the Grand Dao’s development of the Chaos Universe’s cultivation system, and most historians would agree with him. After the chaos caused by Pangu and the Destruction General’s battle, Grand Dao planned to start anew.

First, she established the Essence Era in which body refiners held the destiny of the Chaos Universe and reigned supreme above everybody else. Then, it should have been the Soul and Qi Era. Wang Wei knows Ji Dingxian — the Ji Clan Ancestor — was most likely a Pure Soul Path cultivator. There are also signs that the early version of Paragons focused more on cultivating Qi. Even when they cultivate laws, Innate Laws, Primordial Laws, and the Source, they never neglect amassing a vast quantity of Qi. All these signs showed Grand Dao was preparing for the Spirit and Qi Era.

However, for some reason, after Ji Dingxian failed to become a True Transcendent, Grand Dao cut off these eras, preventing them from existing. She even went so far as to rename the Soul Era the early stages of the Paragon Era. Wang Wei never believed in coincidence. The fact that most historians refused to acknowledge the Soul Era had greater implications than things appeared on the surface.

"The Emperor Path is indeed the combination of all those paths, but it seems to be incomplete — at the very least, the parts after Primal are not complete," Wang Wei thought. After having the idea of condensing a Soul Saint Qill, Wang Wei realized how the True Emperor Path should have been.

"After the Primal state, there should have been a Quasi-Saint Realm, just like there was a Quasi-Emperor Realm," Wang Wei continued. "In this realm, Paragons would have already condensed their three foundations and needed to condense their Saint Traits. One of the Saint Traits would have been the combination of at least 2 Saint Wills from two paths."

Numerous thoughts flashed in Wang Wei’s mind as he analyzed the situation. He soon realized his analysis was just the tip of the iceberg, as he put together many pieces of the puzzle that do not appear connected at first sight.

"The reason Grand Dao chose this timeline for the expedition was to take the knowledge of this civilization to perfect the Emperor Path back home," Wang Wei continued. "I can foresee that the realm of Quasi-Saint will soon become popular throughout the Chaos Universe, and it will be right in time for the upcoming Transcendent Era."

He was a pawn. Not just him, but everybody participating in the expedition. Wang Wei and Lin Fan seemed to be the main chess pieces in perfecting the Emperor Path, but everyone else would also contribute. A wry smile flashed in Wang Wei’s mouth as he pondered more deeply.

"I theorized all the infinite timelines existed for Grand Dao to see alternate branches of development of the Primordial Timeline and used them to optimize it. It seems I was right," Wang Wei sighed. By utilizing the knowledge of Timeline NP89076H, the realm of Quasi-Saint will finally appear in the Primordial Timeline.

From what Wang Wei knows, it was uncommon for the Old Saints to have condensed any Saint Trait; even Saint Foundation was rare among them for much of their existence. These talented individuals relied entirely on their own ability, with no preparation or safety measures, to sanctify, and many of them succeeded. Of course, the number of failures was astronomical.

Now, with the spread of information about the Saint Foundations and the emergence of the Quasi-Saint Realm, the path to Sainthood will be much easier for all sentient beings, allowing the Transcendent Era to be as glorious as everyone envisioned.

The more Wang Wei thinks about the grand scale of things, the angrier he becomes. He and Lin Fan are the keys to this plan, but how many plots and decisions were made before they could reach this stage? Hongjun plotted against countless worlds to create a world collision and send people from the Prehistoric World to reincarnate. He thought it was sneaky, but Grand Dao had probably been planning for this to happen for a while. After all, only someone with Pangu’s aura can be chosen to be the Heaven-Splitting Holy Land’s Holy Son.

Meanwhile, Lin Fan’s destiny has always been linked to the Chaos Demon God from the moment he was born. Hundunxi chose him as a vessel to free himself from his prison, but if Grand Dao didn’t allow it, how could he have succeeded so easily?

Wang Wei exhaled to calm down and mulled things over again. "I’m being paranoid. I was never supposed to leave the Prehistoric World. My survival was a miracle, something even Grand Dao could not have predicted; she only started using me as a pawn after this act that defied fate. Meanwhile, Lin Fan was also supposed to die in the Supreme Outlaw Trial.

"However, even with these truths, that doesn’t change Grand Dao’s plan. Even without me, Grand Dao could have chosen any of the other people reincarnated. As for Lin Fan? Well, there are countless people with the Absolute Chaos Physique. So, in the grand scheme of things, our existence is meaningless. One way or another, Grand Dao would have her way."

Wang Wei successfully calmed down. Although such a truth might be devastating to a lesser cultivator — especially powerful cultivators whose pride and ego are higher than the Heavens — Wang Wei was no lesser man. After knowing the existence of Saints and their powers, he always kept his pride and arrogance in check; he had already accepted how insignificant he was in the grand scheme of things. Even knowing how powerful he’ll become in the future did not stop him from staying humble, always reminding himself that potentia is just that — potential. Until he turns that potential into true strength, he should keep his pride in check.

As for being plotted against? This was not the first time, nor will it be the last time. Until he can truly become a chess player, it’s his honor to be a chess piece. And as long as his life is not in danger and he can even benefit somehow, he’ll still play the game and respect the rules — all to wait until the day he’s a true chess player and can establish the rules.

"Essence, Spirit, and Qi — why do I feel like something is missing?" His previous analysis hinted at something else, but he couldn’t catch it yet. "Essence Saint Will is about rejecting all phenomena; Spirit Saint Will is unknown for now, but I have some theories; finally, there is Dao Will — wait, why Dao Will and not Qi Will?"

The light of wisdom flashed in Wang Wei’s eyes.

"Qi Refiners are always associated with comprehending the Dao, but shouldn’t those two be separate? Immortal Path cultivators only increase their Qi reserves — they don’t cultivate law. So, why are those two always labeled as the same? Essence, Spirit, and Qi are in the same categories. The Dao or law should be above these three. All three should, at some point, begin to cultivate the Dao to aid their respective paths, but the Dao should remain separate and above everything.

"By that logic, there aren’t three Saint Wills, but four."

Most people ignored the importance of Pure Qi Refining and even have great disdain for the Immortal Path or even Qi in general. However, Qi is the most important of the three talents of Essence, Spirit, and Qi. No matter what cultivation system exists, 99.99% of them cannot escape using the spiritual energy of Heaven and Earth for cultivation, and that spiritual energy is Qi of the Universe — the key to the cultivator’s evolution and power.

"If my theory is correct, then Lin Fan’s presence is to bring back the knowledge of the Essence Saint Will in case I go rogue and try to keep it for myself. His master preaches education for all, so whether he wants it or not, the information will spread.

"My existence is to create the Spirit or Soul Saint Will. As one of the founders of the Eternal Ascension World’s Soul Path, I have the knowledge, skill, ambition, and ingenuity to do so. And even if I were to go rogue, Grand Dao can use my karmic relationship with Liang Shixian to scheme against me to release the technique."

Wang Wei didn’t even need to think for long to calculate how things would proceed. Liang Shixian would probably use Maitreya. No matter how good their relationship is, Maitreya is still someone who considers the world above most things. Wang Wei’s created Soul Saint Will will definitely benefit the Heavenly Court and the entire war. Maitreya might not take it by force, but she might also offer something irresistible to Wang Wei. And in the worst-case scenario, Grand Dao just needs to put Wang Wei in a difficult situation in which only Maitreya can help him, and by then, he’ll have no choice but to hand over the technique.

Wang Wei exhaled to calm down and continue his deduction.

"By that logic, who is the person with the destiny to bring out the Qi Saint Will?" As soon as he asked this question, he had an answer: it was his wife, Wu Hong.
