Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3868: The First Step To Reforging

Chapter 3868: The First Step To Reforging

Once Alex understood what he needed to do, he left the Artifact God’s workshop and returned to his courtyard. There, he finally got to meet with everyone he hadn’t had the time to meet earlier.

Alex walked in and saw the three new Immortals, each of whom had steady smiles on their faces.

"Congratulations!" Alex said with a beaming smile of his own. "You all broke through."

"Yes," the older Alex said proudly.

"Any issues?" Alex asked.

"None whatsoever," Hannah explained. "In fact, it went much more smoothly than we were hoping for. None of them even seemed to suffer much from their Inner Demons."

"Really?" Alex asked with raised eyebrows. "That’s incredible."

"You should be congratulated too, young brother," Long Huan said as he looked at Alex. "You’re stronger than you were before, right?"

Alex nodded. "I’m quite a lot stronger than I was when I first arrived. I’ve broken through multiple times."

He looked around the place. "I’m guessing you’re not going to focus much on breaking through anymore, are you?" he asked the three.

The older Alex shook his head. "Now that we’re Immortals, we will have 10 thousand years before the next tribulation, right?" he asked.

"Yes. 10 thousand years later, you will have to survive a tribulation that would normally kill a new Immortal," Alex answered.

"Our body cultivation is already so much stronger than that," Emily answered. "I don’t think there’s much use in us focusing on cultivation as much as you do. At least, not to the same degree. We can finally live a little."

Alex gave a small smile. "Well, you guys live a little, then. I should go back to cultivating."

"Again?" Hannah asked. "You just got out."

"And I need to go back in," Alex answered. "I need to break through as soon as I can."

"This can’t be healthy, son," Helen said. "You can’t become a hermit. You say you will have to leave in the future, so you must spend time with the family."

"Son, I don’t truly understand how strong this person you say you are going to fight is," Graham said. "But if he truly is as strong as you claim he is, then surely cultivation alone won’t help you. Maybe there are other ways."

Alex could see the worry in his parents’ eyes. He could see it in everyone’s eyes.

It was not just a worry that he would die during this fight, but also a worry that if he did die, he would’ve died without spending any of his remaining time with his family.

If they didn’t have that worry, Alex did.

There was so much more time he wanted to spend with them all that he simply didn’t have. He wanted to go enjoy a simple tournament with his father and brother-in-law, and even that was out of the question now because of the threat of the Fire God.

It all made him feel so much worse in general. And yet, he could do nothing but gather all his feelings and do what he must.

"I have to cultivate," Alex said in a serious voice. "Whatever little improvement I can make will be incredibly helpful. In the meantime, Sister, could you help me gather some natural treasures for cultivation?"

"Natural treasures?" Hannah asked. "Can’t you use spirit stones?"

"No. They don’t emit Qi as quickly as I need them to. Not to mention, I’ve been out of Immortal Qi for a long time. I will need you to sell some pills and use those earnings to get me the treasures."

Hannah narrowed her eyes a little. "If it was Divine Qi, I could’ve helped you rather easily. But since you need Immortal Qi, that’s not possible for me."

Alex wondered what she meant at first before realizing she was talking about her Creation. Hannah could create Spirit veins as her Creation, but at her current realm, they were all Divine Spirit veins.

"That’s fine," Alex answered. "Please just do this for me."

"Natural treasures. Got it."

Alex nodded and said a few words before returning to his room, where he would have to cultivate for another 3 to 5 years.

Before he cultivated this time, though, he had one last thing left to do.

Alex held Midnight in his hand. Or more accurately, it was the body of Godslayer, within which were the combined nascent spirits of the Demon Killing Sword and Midnight. He closed his eyes and focused his attention on the sword, letting his senses find it.

It wasn’t as easy as finding something that he had completely refined, but since the part that was Midnight was still faintly bonded to him, he found it eventually.

Once he found it, he took a deep breath and pulled on the spirit. Slowly, the spirit moved, following his will as it made its way out of the sword.

In a single motion, the combined spirit made its way out of the sword and directly into his Spiritual Sea. Alex immediately pushed his senses into his Spiritual Sea and found a small blob of intertwining black and white floating in the middle of the colorless world.

The light of the several Origins reflected against the semi-combined spirits, but beyond that, nothing more happened.

To reforge the sword, Alex needed to first save the spirits. Now that he had done that, the sword was finally ready to be reforged.

The first step of reforging required him to put the Reduction aura on the sword. So once Alex brought his senses back out, he took the sword into his Soul Space again and found Ray.

"Please use the bracer on this sword too," he commanded the bird.

"Is this not your primary weapon, Master?" Ray asked.

"It is," Alex answered. "It needs to be reforged."

"Then you will be without a weapon for some time," the bird added.

"That is indeed the case," Alex said. "But don’t hurry. Take as long as you need to deal with it. I will be cultivating for a while anyway."
