Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3312: Sun Fire and Yang Imprints

While Shumi spent her time inside his Soul Space, Alex focused on the few things he had to do on the outside.

He first sent Scarlet back into his Soul Space, where he gave her the Origin Evolution technique to try and learn from. Alex planned on learning it as well, but he didn't have much hope for it. But Scarlet and Whisker would likely gain quite a great use from it.

After she was gone, he made his way toward the yellow flame far away, still very much surprised by the heat it created. It wasn't just regular heat, but rather Yang heat that came from it, which had the property of quickly tearing away any Yin aura left over in the surroundings.

What Alex didn't feel was the destructive aspect of the sun's aura that blasted away Qi when out in space. That was what he had hoped the Sun Fire would do, but it didn't.

This was the strongest Yang fire out there, so he couldn't complain. However, he did feel it was a slight waste that he wasn't just turning it into his regular fire. If he trained hard enough, Sun Fire could just become his regular fire, which would greatly enhance all of his fire-related techniques, while also leaving another Creation open for him.

But that required him to have an idea for whatever his other Creation was going to be. Sadly, he couldn't think of anything beyond the Sun Wraiths, and they were a little too weak.

Just as Alex thought about them, an idea did come into his mind.

"Ray!" he called out.

A second later, the remnant of the crow arrived next to him, forming in his regular shape as the massive master of the trial.

"How may I help you, master?" he asked.

"How degraded are your memories of the past?" Alex asked. "I have something to ask you from that time."

"Quite a bit. I barely remember anything at all beyond simple instinctual knowledge of a few different things," he said.

"Then maybe you know something about Sunhearts," Alex explained. "Or as the Guardian Tiger called it, a Yang Core."

"A Yang Core?" Ray said with some surprise. "I do know a lot about it. I had it myself."

"Oh?" Alex said in surprise. "Really?"

"Most beasts had it at the time, I believe. If you ever wanted to travel outside the Life Belt, having a Yang Core was important," the crow said. "What do you want to learn about it, master?"

Alex paused for a moment, his mind rushing to remember about the Life Belt. As far as he understood, it was a single strip of land a long time ago, most definitely in the old world, where life flourished. It was something Rosemist had asked him to determine, whether he was a Child of Heaven or not.

He had no idea at the time and had to have her answer him.

He asked his question. "When a Yang Core interacts with a beast core, it causes the beast's spirit to come alive. That aura is very close to being the sun's aura. Do you think it is worth it for me to absorb that as my Creation instead of the Sun Fire?"

The crow remained quiet for a long moment. "If we are to compare the two, my flame is obviously the better choice," he said. "Is there some issue that is affecting your decision, master?"

Alex nodded and explained.

The beast was rather surprised. "It won't be so easy to learn my flame. Attuning to the Sun Fire is something millions of individuals have done in the past and ended up with nothing more than failed copies of it."

Alex smiled. "Leave that to me. I have yet to fail at learning anything," he said.

Alex had supreme confidence in his own talent. His next task after this was to tame the Heavens and the Void. A simple flame could hardly give him pause.

Ray couldn't help but give a doubtful look, but he didn't say anything. Whatever his master wanted, he was okay with it.

"If you can learn the fire by yourself, then I do have a suggestion," he said. "The Sun Fire carries a lot of heat, but not as much destructive aura as that of the sun. The Yang Imprints carry a lot of the destructive aspect of the sun, but not the heat. So, instead of choosing either-or, why don't you go with both?"

"Both?" Alex said with a surprised voice. "But they are two distinct things. Unless they are somehow together, I don't believe I can do that."

Ray nodded. "If you can prepare a few Yang Imprints, I can use the aura they carry to merge with my fire and combine it all for you to absorb," the crow explained. "So long as they are virtually together, and you can't distinguish it as one or the other, you will be able to absorb it all."

Alex was rather excited upon hearing that. "That's a great idea! I will get right into absorbing this flame then."

Ray nodded. "If you don't have any other need for me, I shall return to—"

"Wait," Alex quickly said. "I have a question."

The crow waited for him to speak.

"Was the Sun God involved in any way in the event when the Moon Goddess blessed the three Demonic plants?" he asked.

The crow thought for a moment and nodded. "You could say that."

"What do you mean?" Alex asked.

"Well… wherever the Moon Goddess was, the Sun God was technically there as well," the crow said. "Even if they were not physically present, they were pretty much together all the time."

Alex narrowed his eyes. "How?"

"I'm not sure," Ray said. "All I know is that the two gods are connected in a way beyond any explanation."

That wasn't as helpful as Alex had hoped.

"I see. Thank you. You may leave."

Ray bowed once again and disappeared, leaving Alex behind with the Sun Fire that he would now convert into his own fire, rather than adding it to his Creation.
