Looking around for his location, Grey decided to find a restaurant where he could eat. After that, maybe he would find a shop where they sold medicinal herbs so that he could concoct his poison. Without the addition of poison, Grey felt that his overall attacking power had diminished.
But as he started to walk through the streets of Sky Mist city, he saw a cultivator flying in the sky. With a nonchalant expression, he brought his gaze down. Not wanting to see or be seen by the other party. Only cultivators in the Foundation Establishment realm could actively fly without any magic treasures or artifacts. Any Foundation Establishment cultivator could kill him, so he wanted to avoid trouble as much as possible.
But to his surprise and shock, the Foundation Establishment cultivator landed near him. The figure started to walk towards him. Knowing that he couldn't avoid a confrontation, he decided to take a look at the person and know if he knew such person.
But surprisingly, the Foundation Establishment cultivator was someone he knew. More precisely, it was Miss Tyler. With a respectful expression on his face, Grey nodded at her. He had not seen then ever since the tests started, so he didn't know whether they were actually aware of their progress and whether they managed to make it to Sky Mist academy.
Miss Tyler did not congratulate him extravagantly, she just uttered small words of congrats and skipped to the main topic.
'Always so straightforward!' He said inwardly but he preferred straightforward people. No bearing around the bush.
"I must say my congratulations for passing the Sky Mist exams and being a student of Sky Mist academy, but you must know that the environment and people here are very competitive. Any small mistake can cost you your life! There are no direct killings but you can always kill your opponent using other ways. I'm sure you will figure them out." Although her words were short and vague, to Grey who was already starting to have a general picture of things, it was very detailed. He also noticed some words that she said and others that she didn't, which implied that they were to be taken seriously. Grey nodded with a serious expression on his face.
"Now, the main reason I'm here is because your..." Not knowing how to address him, she stuck to his regular name. "Caster has gone into closed door cultivation and the time he will come out is unknown, so he asked me to give you this!" With a wave of her hand, a small bottle flew forward and he caught it. When he took a look at it, he noticed it was the Magic ship that the Caster used to storm the Shadow sect.
This was a prize possession because it was made by a strong expert in the Foundation Establishment realm. It possessed strong Divine attacks and defense that even other Foundation Establishment Magic ships couldn't boast off.
Now that he was worrying about accommodation and feeding, Caster had already solved one of his problems for him. Gratitude arose in his heart. He promised to thank the Captain whenever he got the chance. He cupped his fists and bowed towards Miss Tyler.
With her usual nonchalant expression, she nodded and took off. Disappearing into the distance in a flash. Grey looked at her retreating figure until it disappeared completely. He gave the glass bottle one last glance before he kept it in his storage bag.
With a small amount of points, he hurried towards the administration department to register his magic ship and be assigned to a port where he could dock.
In sequence three, the port was the main source of activity and many people's livelihood. Most people who lived in the port had magic ships and lived in there as their residence.
As he got closer to the administration department, he suddenly recalled something during the Sky Mist exam. A youth said that their opponents who lost would have points deducted from them and some would be added to the winners account as well. If it was the truth, then he supposed to have some points in his account by now.
He checked to make sure but only saw the same meager number of five. With that, he gritted his teeth a little. "If that's the truth, then we've all been scammed!" He muttered as he entered the administration department to register his magic ship and be assigned to a port.
As he was being assigned a port, they checked his identity token several times and his magic ship before eventually assigning him to a port.
"Berth 4, Port 117. The moment you start docking, you will be charged to pay a docking fee per month." The administrator said.
"How much is the docking fee?" Grey asked cautiously. If it was too expensive then he would come bcak and start to dock when he had money. If it was something he could squeeze out immediately, then he wouldn't hesitate.
"The docking fee is 10 spirit stones per month." The administrator said in such a calm attitude that Grey almost spat out blood.
'Ten spirit stones! I barely have five spirit stones!' He said inwardly.
"Whenever I'm ready, I'll start docking." He said with a wry smile that was covered by the Detective hat. The administrator didn't seem to notice and just shrugged.
With heavy shoulders, Grey left the administration department and looked for a restaurant to have a small meal. After that he would go back to the Detective agency department and get used to the ropes. He could stay there for a while without needing to pay rent which was okay for him.
Remembered a restaurant that the Captain had pointed to when they were walking. She said it had fare rates and the food price was decent. Moreover the area was rather close to the Detective agency department. Which means that it would have a certain level of peace and tranquility, which he really needed to gather his thoughts and reorganize himself.
Before long he saw the restaurant. Without hesitation, he walked in and went to one of the tables near a corner where he could view all the customers that came in and went out. With his back facing the wall, no one could suddenly sneak up on him.
Grey's eyes narrowed into vertical slits as he subtly observed everyone in the restaurant at that time. He had picked this corner where he could observe the whole restaurant subconsciously without even knowing it.
'I've changed a lot after transmigrating...' Grey said inwardly in a daze. His grey eyes grew distant and slightly detached.
The waiter came over to his table to get his order, but because his Detective hat was blocking most of his face including his eyes, the waiter didn't notice and constantly asked Grey for his order.
As he was reminiscing, he suddenly felt a sense of melancholy and sadness. His melancholy stemmed from his siblings! The previous Grey had a brother and sister but they had both gone missing.
For some reason, Grey couldn't make out their names but they were some hazy memories of their time together. Even with his hazy memories, he could still remember their appearances vividly.
His sister, who was younger than him with a couple of hair had slightly pale skin and raven black hair, unlike Grey. But she did have those hazy grey eyes and a slightly detached expression sometimes, but whenever she smiled or was happy, her expression would change to one of warmness.
As for his brother who was three years older than him, he also had grey hair like Grey but his eyes were emerald green instead. Unlike his siblings he didn't have those detached, distant eyes and was usually calm and cheerful.
Some memories flashed through his head. Seeing the memories of the previous owner of his body, Grey heaved a soft sigh. As that time, his murky eyed seemed to get even more hazy. It was also at that moment that he realized the waiter was waiting for him to give his order.
Taking a brief glance at the menu, he picked a dish and watched as the waiter walked away in frustration and slight indignace, but he ignored it anyway. He was not allowed to kill mundane people anyways.
With a sigh, he went back to silently observing the occupants of the small restaurant. After a few minutes, a waitress came and served him his meal. She was a young girl probably no younger than Grey himself. She had a innocent look in her eyes and naivety. She looked at Grey curiously but couldn't get much due to the Detective hat blocking most of his facial features. In the end, she leaved.
After having a peaceful lunch, Grey stood up and left the restaurant after paying. A short while later, the Detective agency building came into view. With a detached expression, he slowly walked in.
Many of the members gave him strange looks as he walked in but as soon as they saw him put his badge on his chest, their expressions changed to relief and then respect when they saw he was the Vice Captain of team Red.
With a curt nod at them, Grey got directions and walked into his supposed "Office". The office had a swivel chair, a slightly large desk and most other stuff you would see in a office.
On the table, they were several documents and files stacked up. Grey took slow steps before taking a seat and going through them one by one.
A hint of enlightenment appeared in his eyes. Most of these documents were rules and regulations that one must follow as well at the perks and privileges he received. After that, there were some files containing information of wanted criminals and thugs.
"Oh, it wouldn't be as boring as I thought it would be!" Grey said after he read for some time.
