Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1276: Dark City

Planet Bayla has just three cities, so in a way, it can be considered a small planet.

However, its size is enormous. Its diameter is over 14 million kilometres. Most of it is forested, but there is also a large body of water.

The forest takes up a rather large field of land, and each houses some of the most dreadful beasts in the universe.

However, the cities aren't smaller either.

Just the Dark City alone is about 2 million kilometres on all sides. It is built in a square shape, surrounded by thick, tall walls.

As far back as Kent could remember, the Dark City had always had those walls, reinforced with powerful formations and arrays.

Because the beasts are much larger in number than the humans, considering the forests are just too many, there are constant beast tides.

However, the walls had prevented many beast tides and even outside invasions. Because of this, many people prefer to be within the protective walls of the city, at the mercy of the warriors and the Dark Warden family.

Now, however, as Kent gazes at the city from 100 km away, he can tell that while the walls are firm and built to withstand even attacks from Heavenly Ascension Stage beasts, they have weakened considerably.

It indicated that the Dark Assassin Temple isn't looking after it like it used to. A major beast invasion, if not well protected, will, for the first time, bring down the walls, exposing civilians to the horrors of the forests.

"This sight is amazing," Kent said, causing the twins to nod.

They always stop here whenever they go hunting for days. Taking in this sight, in a way, lessens the stress on their minds and bodies after fighting near-death battles.

"Let's go. The longer we wait, the more danger your family is put in," Kent said before taking off again. This time, he allowed the twins to lead him.

They are natives, unlike him, who came from the outside. Seeing a friendly face would, in a way, lessen the scrutiny.

In no time, they approached the city gate, where dozens of people could be seen paying the gate fee and being let in. Kent and the twins landed at the back of the line and started walking forward as it slowly dwindled.

There are about eight guards, each a Shadow Emperor. If they were swordsmen, they would have already reached the peak of the Sword Emperor stage.

They are clad in dark armour with green fluffy ropes tied around their necks.

'They look decent for gate guards,' Kent seemed pleased, knowing the Dark City he knew still had powerhouses guarding the gates.

In the past, the gates were manned by powerful assassins, some even hidden in the shadows. However, while he spotted no assassin in the shadows, the eight standing guard aren't at all weak.

But he wasn't bothered by that. He had already seen worse.

Soon, only three people were in front of them. However, one of the guards looked in their direction, and in an instant, a grin formed on his face. Kent also knew trouble had found them.

"Oh, if not the death-courting twins who dare lay their hands on the young master."

Ryan and Ryen frowned, seeing that things were about to turn sour. The moment the guard said that, all attention turned to them, including Kent.

Even the three people in front and those behind locked their gaze on the twins and the handsome young man standing with them.

"Van, we don't have time for this," Ryan said, taking a step forward to shield his sister.

Van, the guard, chuckled... "Oh, but you do. Attacking the young heir of the Assassin Temple is a grave offence, so you must make time."

The other guards moved forward, forming a barrier at the narrow opening leading to the city. Since the gates are enormous, from a distance the small opening looks small, but when closer, it is about 20 feet wide, showing how huge the main entrance is.

"What is the meaning of this, Van? The Dark Lord pardoned us by giving us a task to complete. We have done that, so why are you blocking us from entering the city? Do you want to incur the wrath of the Dark Lord?"

"I am not blocking you, Ryan. I am merely making sure whoever enters the city doesn't have any animosity toward anyone, especially toward the Dark Lord and his family."

Van turned and looked at the people guarding around and added:

"The last I checked, you and your sister tried to murder the young heir of the Assassin Temple. So in my eyes, you two are a danger to the city and everyone.

Who knows who you might try killing next time?"

The frown on Ryan and Ryen's faces darkened. The longer they wait, as Kent said, the more danger they put their family in.

So being barred from entering the city so they could deliver on their mission is rather dangerous to themselves and their family.

Seeing the looks on their faces, Van and the other guards started to laugh, knowing Ryan and Ryen would never dare come against them.

Unfortunately for them, their travelling companion is not of the same mindset.

"They are just stalling for time. They have already sent a message to the one who hired them, and currently, he is leading 12 Shadow Emperors here," Kent suddenly spoke, causing the laughter to die down immediately.

He walked forward and stood before Ryan and Ryen... "Too bad you losers won't be of any help by the time they arrive."

Kent raised his hand, and without showing any mercy, he activated his blood runes and gestured down.

"Eat Dust."

An invisible force descended on the 8 eight guards, forcing them to drop flat onto the ground, their faces planted in the ground as every bone in their bodies was being shattered.

With every movement of Kent's finger, a bone breaks in their body.

The sound of bones shattering quickly spread through everyone, turning them pale. Even Ryan and Ryen instinctively took a few steps back.

The sight is just too shocking.

Of course, they saw how Kent defeated the snake they nearly died fighting; however, while that is even more shocking than this, seeing eight guards directly linked to the Assassin Temple suppressed and being tortured made them afraid.

Screams of pain coming from the eight guards quickly spread into the city, causing many to make their way toward the city entrance.

Somewhere in the city, a carriage surrounded by 12 Shadow Emperors is swiftly making its way toward the city gate.

Inside the carriage, a spoiled brat with one blinded eye held a furious look, gritting his teeth, wishing he were already at the gate where he was informed Ryan and his sister were after leaving for days.

"If I don't kill them this time around, then I am not a Warden." The fury in his eyes said it all; he is pissed and ready for blood.

Suddenly, the carriage came to a halt, prompting him to ask in a furious tone... "Why did we stop?"

"Young master Hazen, there seems to be a commotion at the entrance."

"Clear them. Those who resist, kill them."

Soon, the carriage started moving again. However, a few seconds later, just when they arrived at the gate, it stopped.

This time around, before Hazen could ask why, the carriage exploded, and an invisible force took hold of him, pulling him forward.

"W-What?" He panicked, but before he could do so much, his neck entered Kent's waiting draconic grip.
