Dragging his sword, he swiftly attacked Kael. But the strike was blocked by a tiny blade shard. A screeching sound reverberated as the two metals collided together. Kael blade shard was the weapon he was creating in the metal energy beings clan. It is a pack of blade shards, precisely 365 blade shards. But in total, he can only control 100 shards individually because it requires high mental energy.
"Wow, you are a mental energy weapon master, and you also have speedforce. That's very cool." James applauded. "But not enough."
100 blade shards suddenly flew out attacking James but he was blocking everything with his heavy and big blade. Kael too joined in attacking increasing the pressure on James.
Coupled with Kael's speed, James could not block most of his punches. His punches seem like 1 per strike but it's numerous punches per strike. It was something he had trained for years.
Although it looks like Kael is having the advantage, James was someone in world class arena, and someone with 999,490 combat power. He is very formidable in master realm. He suddenly swirled his blade in a clockwise manner deflecting all the little blade shards and Kael's punches. He then hacked his blade against Kael. Kael blocked the blade by controlling all the shards to form a shield but the impact still sent Kael away sliding on the ground. Looking up, he saw James flying towards him with a blade strike. He suddenly teleported and appeared behind the flying James. He then struck a palm against his back sending the latter into the ground.
Coming outside, James was surprised. "You also have voidstream? Damn, this is crazy." With that he reinforced his Qi and attacked Kael again.
Kael's body blurred the moment James charged. A yellow arc of speedforce sparked across the battlefield, crossing paths with a dark ripple from voidstream. Both forces overlapped around his figure, making his movement almost impossible to track.
James stomped the ground, and the earth roared. Dense, brown energy erupted from beneath his feet, coating his body in a hardened layer of earth-armor. His blade vibrated as raw force surged through it.
"Equal footing," James grinned, "let's see what you've REALLY got."
Kael appeared directly in front of him—then wasn't. A ripple shimmered at James' flank, and a knee slammed toward his ribs. The earth-armor cracked from the impact, but James' counterpunch landed at the same time, shaking Kael's entire frame. Both were blasted backward, sliding in opposite directions.
They vanished again.
BOOM—BOOM—BOOM—BOOM!
Shockwaves exploded across the terrain as their silhouettes flickered around the battlefield, exchanging blows at speeds that made the air ripple. Each collision sent ripples of dust spiraling upward like miniature storms.
Kael reappeared first—100 blade shards circling him in a tight defensive orbit. They glowed faintly, reacting to both his mental control and the speedforce thrumming through his veins.
James burst through the dust cloud, his figure wrapped in earth energy so dense it looked like a moving boulder with a blade.
The two forces clashed—
Metal against earth.
Speed against raw power.
Voidstream distortion against continent-crushing strength.
Kael darted left, then right, then shifted instantly behind James via voidstream. The blade shards snapped into formation and launched in a curved pattern, cutting through space like controlled meteors.
James didn't dodge.
He slammed his blade into the ground.
A circular wall of compacted stone erupted outward, deflecting every shard with a thunderous CRACK-CRACK-CRACK. The shards bounced off, spiraling through the air, then quickly returned to Kael's control.
James launched himself forward using a pillar of stone that shot from the ground behind him. He rocketed like a missile, blade drawn high.
Kael's eyes glowed—speedforce lightning cracked around him.
James brought the blade down with enough force to split a hill.
Kael raised his forearm and slid into voidstream—his entire body turning faint, like a shadow phasing between realities. The blade still grazed him, severing a chunk of the ground behind.
Kael twisted at impossible speed, landing three rapid strikes on James' armor, each punch carrying speedforce vibration. The raw kinetic shock left dents even in the fortified earth armor.
James grinned wider.
He grabbed Kael's wrist mid-strike.
Kael's eyes widened—just a little.
"Got you."
James slammed him into the earth, the ground cracking inward from the force.
Kael teleported out before the blade could follow, reappearing mid-air, breathing lightly but eyes sharper.
Both men stood again at a distance.
Both slightly battered.
Both excited.
James tightened his grip on his blade, overflowing with raw earth Qi.
Kael's blade shards hovered, humming with accelerating vibration.
The two forces locked eyes.
Equal.
Perfectly equal.
The ground trembled under the pressure of their rising energy as the next collision built up like a gathering storm.
"Round two?" Kael said, voice calm but dangerous.
James cracked his knuckles.
"Let's tear the whole field apart."
