A few days passed and he kept recieving more information about the situation and it was looking very dire.
Food was running out, carnivores were still better off as demonic beasts were yet to die out but their numbers were dwindling.
It was as if the particles effect their ability to reproduce which was scary. The herbivores on the other hand had it worse.
Plants died rapidly, only those with plant control abilities like Evergreen could still grow food.
But there were a few who were powerful enough to grow plants who were strong enough to resist the plague.
So providing food for the entire beast race lay solely on her and a few subordinates of hers with plant related abilities.
Although they weren't strong enough to grow their own plants in this situation, they were able to tend to hers so they can grow a bit faster.
He also noticed the sea level was dropping and rapidly. Each day it grew lower by at least half a millimetre.
Fish occasionally floated up, already dead and those fish who died by themselves cannot be eaten.
What pissed him off though was that the corpses he asked be kept spoiled. Even after being frozen in ice they still went bad.
This went for all stored food. Fresh water was running out and everybody suddenly went very thirsty but that had a solution.
However in these past few days he noticed he was barely effected. Even Linglong was effected way more than him.
He was certain it was not because he was a dragon, it was probably because his body was a bit special.
All of his strength was pure, he was not strengthened by essence in any way so the particles couldn't erase the effect of essence.
Secondly, he had martial intent, it naturally made his physical constitution superior to others but he still needed to ask Manas to confirm.
However just because he wasn't as effected doesn't mean he wasn't worried. As a king, it was his duty to look out for the well being of his people.
" Avery." He called out and she appeared out of the shadows. " Find as many herbivorous demonic beasts as you can. We starting an animal farm."
They already had a farm but that was more indirect, they just let the beast grow in the wild on their own then harvest them when they reach a certain rank.
This time he planned to take the direct method of humans. Locking the live stock up, feeding them until they're fat then killing them for food, the good old way.
' We might be really fucked up aren't we?'. Avery left to carry out his orders. Ved thought if his blood can enhance the constitution of beasts and humans, can't it do the same for plants?
He couldn't know until he tried. He took off and went to Evergreen's mountain range, he found her tending to her crops, she was in her true deer form.
She stood up and bowed to him. " My lord." He nodded. " You can rise, I have something I need you to try."
She raised her eyebrows. He cut his own wrist and poured his blood into a large wax bucket he created.
" Use my blood to water the plants, let see if this will strengthen them." Her eyes opened wide.
" Of course, why didn't I think of this before." She took a watering can and watered a tiny tree with his blood.
Something ridiculous happened, the plant started growing rapidly. " It should be fully grown in about a month, this is too fast." She whispered.
Ved nodded and flew off to see the mammoth clan, he found Avery there already talking to them.
It seems she had the same idea as him. They greeted him, his idea was to have them look after the cattle.
Their land was flat and vast, it was perfect for growing grass. He could still sense the grass roots below the barren ground.
If he sprinkled his blood over the land, he was positive this grass would be strong enough to grow here.
After the discussion, him and Avery left. They went up the forest of stone where the monkey king Zhandou Houzi resides.
To them he assigned the duty of looking after bird type beasts but not birds of prey, only those who can survive on corn and berries.
Zhandou happily accepted the task. They went out to hunt said beasts. Ved commended that tiny drops of his blood be put in drums of drinking water.
Water was already scarce, they were forced to distil the sea, fortunately beings of their level didn't need any machines for something like that.
So the lack of drinking water ceased to be an issue, after putting his blood in, the constitutions of his people grew stronger.
They became less susceptible to the minor diseases. A month passed just like that, he went to check on the tree in Evergreen's garden.
As she said, it was fully grown and had even sprouted fruit. He transformed taking human form then picked a fruit.
It was a blood red orange, this was an orange tree with red oranges that had a smell of iron, " Red oranges huh? Should they be still called oranges? Of Redes
? Reds?'
He peeled one and took a bite, they tasted amazing, a bit sweet and hot at the same time, like sweet hot pepper if there ever was a thing.
Evergreen did the same, " They taste sweeter but they have too much energy." She commented.
He raised an eyebrow. ' She can't feel the hotness, then it must be the essence burning my tongue.'
She continued talking, " They're a good source of energy for cultivation in these terrible times but this amount of energy would kill those weaker than rank 4.
Infact even some rank 4 with weaker bodies like the rabbit clan might not be able to handle them."
He nodded, what she said made sense. She picked a few fruits and put them in a basket. " I'll run some test and get back to you in a few days, now if you'll please excuse me my lord."
She turned and left, he transformed back into his true form and flew back to his tower. He received reports from Avery.
Zhandou came back with over 30 rank 3 wild chickens and geese. The mammoth clan found an entire herd of buffalo in Africa and took them.
They had over a hundred buffaloes. He gave her buckets of his blood to take to both clans, she knew what to do after.
He looked up and frowned at the stinking air, ' By the old ones it smells, I need to work on that next.'
