Blood gushed out of Arslan's lips as a claw roughly tore out from the back of his chest, right from the right side of his chest.

His eyes widened in horror, looking forward only to watch as Everlearn's image faded.

"An… An afterimage?"

He thought in shock, and Everlearn landed on the ground.

"Arslan!"

His group mate roared in anger, flashing out toward Everlearn, whose thick voice bloomed through the air.

"Move an inch closer, and I'll rip him apart into two halves."

The second those words were mentioned, they all halted in place.

Everlearn raised Arslam to the side of his maw, whispering into his ears from behind.

"Tell me, it's not in your place to call me a murderer still, is it?" He said, squeezing the flesh and cracking his rib bones within him, as blood flowed freely from Arslan's lips.

"Oh, that right must only belong to some old fat fools wearing a wig in a courthouse, doesn't it?"

He mocked, ripping his hands off of Arslan's stomach while his other claw blasted down slowly, cleaving into the left side of his shoulder, down to his waist, as his left hands fell off of him.

"If anyone asks why there is such a scar on half your body, show them some mercy and teach them the lesson I taught you."

He said, watching him fall onto his back, and Everlearn turned away.

"DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEE!"

The rest of his mates screamed out in anger, bombarding Everlearn with attacks from everywhere, but then—

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The ground beneath him opened into an abyss, devouring Arslan beneath his feet, and Evelearn bounced through the air with terrifying speed.

A second step mid-air, and he burst into the distance, becoming a flash of gold that rapidly disappeared, fading out before they could even blink.

"Find him!" The woman amongst them barked as three of them took to the skies in chase of the monster, while she dove into the abyssal crater carrying out Arslan's body and disappearing into the opposite distance.

Evelearn appeared mid-air with his second bounce, beneath him some skyscrapers, and he clapped his hands above him, sending him flying down.

'Deactivate Illumno Transformation.'

He ordered mid-air, and immediately his body lessened back to human form.

Landing on the side of the wall, his eye found a window open in the opposite room, and he jumped inside.

The second he was in, he moved instantly, appearing before the lady in the room.

She tried to scream, but he stopped her, placing his hand over her lips and blocking air from getting out.

One look into his eyes spoke everything she needed, keeping silent, though Evelern's hand remained on her.

Silence descended, but not long after, the air above the building was blown as a figure weaved past with speed, sending a gust of air through the window.

He waited quietly for a moment for them to leave far away and the air to come to peace once more before he released his hand over her lips.

"I'm sorry for the intrusion. I'll leave now," he said to the lady, taking back his hand before he flashed away from the room, reaching for the window.

But he instantly paused in the next moment, swerving to the wall side.

Not long after, a figure flashed down with terrifying speed.

The air wave from his movement was so powerful that it sent the bed in the room flying off, blown toward the lady, whose eyes widened watching the huge bed slam toward her head.

If it had hit, it would have absolutely blown her brain to mush, but it never reached her.

Her eyes opened to witness his hands reaching out, grabbing the edge of the bed, pausing it a few inches from her face.

He slowly lowered it back to the ground, then returned to the window, his eyes looking up into the sky.

Everlearn could see it, over the sky, there was a golden barrier that was rapidly turning invisible.

║They've locked the area down.║

The system panel flashed, and Everlearn clicked his tongue.

"Now what?" He mused beneath his lips just to witness a head bubble by the side.

It was the one he had found in the building, a green-haired lady with equally green eyes, who was currently looking up at the barrier.

"A lockdown barrier?" She asked in shock, and Everlearn raised an eyebrow.

She was just an ordinary human; how could she be knowledgeable about the Corer Capture tech?

"Is it set up for you?" she asked, giving him a deeper look, and her eyes shut closed.

"You're naked," she forced beneath her breath as Everlearn quickly got a robe from the shop, donning it.

After he shifts back into human form from his Illumino mech form, he ends up naked and often forgets that for some reason.

After he donned it, he looked around the place.

He remembered this place being a residential skyscraper, and he listened attentively for a moment.

He couldn't hear the sound of any other heartbeat in this apartment apart from hers.

"Can I stay in your place for a while?" He asked, and the question made her open her eyes to find him clothed.

She paused in silence for a while, doubts flickering in her eyes.

Though the robe hid his features, she could still see the blood on his hands and his face.

"Will you leave if I say no?" She asked, and Everlearn's hand reached for the window to open it and leave.

Staying with a human who didn't want him in, and not just any human but a lady in her prime, while being a Corer, 11× stronger than her?

Now that was a court case he wouldn't be able to defend, and wouldn't want himself in either.

But before his hand reached the window knob, a hand reached there faster, shutting the window close properly.

"You can stay," she said, and Everlearn's jaw almost fell.

"For real?"

He asked just to be sure he heard right, and she nodded, saying:

"I'm Sara. I live with my auntie, but she's out on a business trip, so I live alone for now. You get?"

She asked, and he nodded.

"The bathroom is over there," she said, pointing at the second door in the room.

His brows furrowed, and she explained:

"You reek of blood, you know."

She ended, and Everlearn thought about it for a while before he decided.

"Sorry to be a bother."

"It's fine."
