I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 65: Gains and Losses

The woman kept glancing back at Glitzy's Owner who was staring into space blankly. He didn't even look like he was breathing anymore, as if his soul had already left his body.

"Ah, sir? Are you still alive?" the woman asked, almost on the verge of tears.

She didn't get a response, which made her heart settle down. Did the owner of Glitzy already reach heaven?

She felt like she could see his soul riding a child's bicycle on its way to heaven, bidding farewell to the cruel world.

"Nooo! Who will pay my salary now?!" She screamed, even as she ran from the projectiles.

As soon as the man heard her words, his eyes snapped open.

His blood pressure started rising as he yelled, "You're more worried about your salary than my life?!"

The woman immediately went silent. She coughed a little, before continuing, "You're in trauma. You must be imagining things."

"You..." The man looked at her blankly.

He silently looked at the screen, as tears streamed down his cheeks. "My new ships... Just which bastard has cursed me?"

The moment that he received an investment, he ordered a few ships. But the company simply disappeared.

He was forced to take more investment from Leo, becoming a minority owner in his own company.

After all that, he gathered the courage to order ships again. He intentionally went with a renowned company just to be safe, and now this...

"Is the universe trying to fuck me over?! What is with this bad luck?!" His body felt so weak that he fell face first.

"S-sir? Did you really die this time, or you're still alive...?"

The man weakly turned his face sideways, his cheek rubbing on the floor. He didn't even feel the strength to sit straight.

"At this point, I'm even afraid to pass out. You seem so eager for my death that if I really pass out, you might actually bury me alive thinking I'm dead for sure."

"N-not at all. If you die, who will pay my sala-" the woman quickly shut her mouth, and stopped herself.

Marque didn't even have the strength to argue back anymore. He just wanted to drown in his own tears.

"I will have to ask him for an investment again. He will be really upset with me when he finds out that I wasted his investment again. There's only so far that angel's kindness can go..."

Even now, Marque remained unaware that it was that angel's blessing that made it happen.

....

Meanwhile, the so-called was having a moment of his own where he felt just as lost. This was truly his neighborhood.

There were indeed signs that he wasn't at the wrong place. But it looked more like a battlefield than a residential complex for the wealthy.

The most shocking part... Even after so much destruction, there were no vehicles or ships belonging to this nation's security forces.

No matter how weak this nation truly was, could they really ignore something like this? Did they not even know that this place was turned into a barren wasteland?

"Wait, Timmy and Kaelus! What happened to them?"

He was starting to panic. Although he hadn't known Timmy for long, he did subconsciously start treating him like a friend since they had gone through quite a lot together.

As for Kaelus... He was most likely the heir of Voldred! If anything happened to him, then he wouldn't be able to answer Voldred.

"Could this be the work of the other Ancient Planets? Did Viserl betray me? Did they find out about Kaelus's whereabouts?"

Leo walked across the neighborhood, or lack thereof. There were only a few walls that were left standing. The only good thing was that this entire neighborhood was mostly empty, so there wasn't any other loss of life.

"Kaelus?"

"Timmy?"

"Can anyone hear me?"

Leo called out as he walked across the uneven ground, which was filled with craters and rubble.

"Did something really happen to them?" Leo's heart skipped a beat as he thought of the worst possibility.

"No, I have to find them at any cost. Even if I have to go after the Ancient Seats, I have to bring them back. Otherwise, this life of mine might be at a bigger risk!"

Leo looked above at the sites that were covered in clouds. In the next moment, his body disappeared, being brought back to the Necropolis Battleship.

....

Meanwhile, a few thousand miles away from the ruins that were witnessed by Leo, a young man was sitting on the ground.

His face was ghastly pale, unable to believe the things that he had seen. Timmy could still feel his hands shiver.

He looked at the person next to him, even as a glimpse of that person made his head hurt. There was another person standing next to that person, whom Timmy had never seen before.

Kaelus was looking at his clothes, which were torn a little. Even a few bones of his were cracked, yet they were rapidly healing.

"That bastard.... If only I didn't have to worry about accidentally obliterating this entire planet, I would have blown him to smithereens!" Kaelus said with clenched teeth as dark particles wrapped around his arms, working even harder to heal him.

Even Reven was having a headache, as his condition was much worse than Reven.

First, an entire ship had crashed on his body, and then he had to fight three of the top ten heroes alone, while controlling his strength to not destroy this world.

If one only looked at numbers, then Kaelus had it easy since he only had to face Blaze and Lancer. But under the same restrictions, he also couldn't get an overwhelming win.

"Your Highness, we have attracted a lot of attention this time. I think it might be better for us to leave this planet," Reven said.

He further explained, "Although we did manage to make them suffer to the point that they had to retreat, I'm not sure if they won't return with a greater force. If we keep fighting this battle of attrition, we might lose control and hurt this planet."
