Leo had already gone through a lot of trial and error when learning to use the familiar sword in the world of cannibals.
He had realized that the sword was truly far from simple. It had quite a few tricks that made it different from other swords.
He had become a lot more familiar with the sword through this time. Although he couldn't bring even a fraction of the strength hidden in the sword that Voldred could, he could still borrow a tiny bit.
There was no wild slash for the armored guards.
Leo let the sword fall straight down, planting the tip firmly into the ground with a dull thud. He held the hilt with both hands, like a knight challenging the enemies.
Unfortunately for the armored guards, it was far from simple when they heard another thud. Their laser guns started feeling a lot lighter.
The moment they looked down, they were stunned. Their laser guns were sliced in halves, with the other half falling on the ground already.
They didn't even see when the attack came, yet their weapons were destroyed. Didn't that mean that the person before them could even slice them in halves if he wanted?
After all, their cannons were made from materials that were strong enough to bear intense plasma reaction within. Their armors were made from the same materials.
"W-who are you?" An armored guard stuttered, his face behind his helmet growing pale.
The first time he asked Leo this question, it was from the position of power. But this time, his voice was filled with fear.
He didn't know but that sword in Leo's hands was further amplifying his fear.
What followed was pin drop silence. Even the reporters were in a daze while their cameras kept recording the scene.
Leo was about to speak when the metallic doors of the Recovery Center opened. A dark haired man stepped out, his black clothes being stained by blood.
Despite the blood that was staining his clothes, he didn't look injured.
Blaze's gaze falling on Leo's sword first.
He was more sensitive to this aura. After all, he had witnessed Kaelus's aura of death first hand. The sword appeared to have something similar, yet more chaotic and intense.
If Kaelus's aura of death was like boiling water, then the feeling that this sword was giving him, felt more like molten lava.
"Who might your excellency be?" Blaze placed a hand on his chest and lowered his head lightly in a respectful manner.
At this point, he had realized that something much bigger was going on. First, the person that could take on him, while looking like he was still holding back. It was clear that the man wasn't from earth.
A middle tier planet couldn't give birth to an anomaly like him. It could only be a High Planet.
Now another mysterious person had appeared, who gave him an even worse feeling?
Blaze knew that he couldn't mess around here. If it was just him, it would've been fine. But the lives of the people, and maybe the fate of the entire earth depended on this interaction.
"Shall we talk?" Leo pulled out the sword from the group, and kept it back in the sheath on his back.
With his hands behind his back like an elder, he walked inside the Recovery Center, accompanied by Blaze.
Meanwhile, the reporters outside were going crazy. For Blaze to be so respectful, and that person's strength... It was clear that a guest from a high civilization had arrived on earth! It was a great diplomatic moment!
"Breaking news!"
Almost all the reporters tried to break the news first, giving it a twist of their own.
Some focused on the Hero Tower's guards aiming their weapons at the guests from a high civilization in ignorance. While others came up with even wilder conspiracy theories.
Away from it all, Leo was walking inside the Recovery Center, a place that was specially made to help Heroes recover from their injuries.
As for the reason it wasn't made within the massive tower itself, even he didn't know.
Leo strained his throat muscles and said in a heavy voice, "Where are they?"
"They? Who are you talking about?" Blaze frowned.
"I'm sure you already know who I'm talking about. I would be quite disappointed if you don't," Leo answered, still pretending to be a stranger.
"Are you talking about the person that brought our people to this state?" Blaze stopped before a glass window, beyond which a treatment room was visible.
Lightning was inside the room, lying on the bed, wrapped from head to toe like a christian gift.
"I'm not sure why you're asking me about them. We retreated after realising that the person we were looking for wasn't there. Also my friend was injured, so I didn't have the time to worry about them."
'Hmm?' Leo went silent. 'Is he saying that Kaelus and Timmy were left unharmed? Then where could they have disappeared?'
After a brief period of silence, he said, "Can you find them using your resources..."
"I can try," Blaze answered. "But before that, can you at least tell us who you people are? Why did you come to earth in the first place? And more importantly, what is your link with a human known as Leo Vanderlen?"
"Leo Vanderlen? I'm hearing that name for the first time." Leo lied straight to Blaze's face.
He quickly changed the topic, "As for who we are... Trust me, the less you know, the better for you. Because it would only bring more trouble to this planet of yours."
Blaze stared at the masked man, who was talking in a strange voice. Still, it didn't look like the man was lying.
"If you still doubt my identity, I can get you a word with Viserl. And if that still doesn't convince you, I might have to get a little heavy handed in the end after all."
Leo was talking calmly, yet the threat in his words wasn't hidden. Or rather, he intentionally expressed that threat, even though he wasn't actually planning to do anything to harm earth.
Leo glanced at his friend one more time, before he nodded.
He walked away, and started talking to someone. Leo looked at the man, before shifting his attention back to Lightning on the bed.
He couldn't help but sigh, "What a mess...'
Meanwhile, Leo also used the device he had robbed, cough, borrowed from Viserl, the leader of Galactic Union.
"Any suspicious moments from the Ancient Seats? Especially near Space Sectors in the 20s?"
After a few minutes, Blaze walked back. He silently stood next to Leo, and no one said anything. They just silently watched Lightning through the glass like he was their entertainment in this awkward silence.
Inside the room, Lightning was starting to feel extremely awkward. Through the glass, he could see a strange masked man looking at him, accompanied by Blaze who was staring at him just as intensely.
He felt even worse now that he was in such a pathetic condition, looking like a wrapped up chicken. He felt like an animal in the zoo.
Three hours had passed in the blink. In those three hours, Blaze occasionally left and came back multiple times, looking more and more serious each time.
Meanwhile, Leo wasn't less anxious either. It's just that his mask hid his real expressions well.
"I have some news..." Blaze returned. "I got some information that might be related to them..."
At the same time, the borrowed device in Leo's hand also made a noise as Leo received a message from Viserl.
Leo was hearing Blaze's words while reading the message on the device.
Behind his mask, his expressions kept growing worse, especially with the news that he received from Viserl.
