Chapter 1084: Saving People

Chapter 1084: Chapter 1084: Saving People

In the span of just a few short breaths, only the ruthless leader and one single, trembling subordinate remained alive out of the entire raiding party. Realising that the tide of battle had completely turned in their favour out of nowhere, the surviving group that had been desperately defending the carriage immediately seized the golden opportunity.

"Catch them!"

Several of the brave guards rushed forward simultaneously, weapons drawn, and quickly overpowered and subdued the remaining two attackers before they could even think about escaping into the woods.

"Damn it! Let go of me!" The leader roared as he was forcefully slammed face-first onto the damp ground. He struggled violently like a trapped wild beast, but several guards pinned his limbs down firmly against the dirt. "I curse you, you cowardly bastard hiding in the shadows! How dare you interfere in our private business?!"

Just as his furious, echoing voice resounded through the silent forest, A slender, graceful figure lightly descended from one of the towering, leafy trees nearby, floating down like a delicate feather in the night breeze. Everyone present instinctively turned their heads toward the soft rustle of leaves. A strikingly beautiful young woman landed softly on the ground under the pale moonlight. Her movements were so perfectly fluid and light that not even a single dried leaf beneath her boots stirred.

Bai Xifeng slowly strolled forward with a calm, totally unbothered expression on her face.

"I was feeling a little bored." Bai Xifeng said casually, a faint, playful smile touching her lips. "So I decided to drop by and interfere in your business. What exactly are you going to do about it?"

"You..." The leader’s face twisted in pure, burning rage as he glared up at her.

So this young girl was the elusive culprit behind the ambush! She had single-handedly ruined his entire lucrative mission! However, after taking a proper look at Bai Xifeng’s breathtaking, ethereal appearance under the soft glow of the moon, the furious bloodlust in his eyes was gradually replaced by a disgusting, slimy greed. However, after taking a proper look at Bai Xifeng’s breathtaking, ethereal appearance under the soft glow of the moon, the furious bloodlust in his eyes was gradually replaced by a disgusting, slimy greed.

His sharp gaze subtly shifted toward the guard restraining his back. As he had anticipated, the man’s attention had been momentarily distracted by Bai Xifeng’s striking arrival. A vicious, cruel smile flashed across the leader’s face. He instantly seized the brief lapse in concentration, throwing his full physical weight forward and violently shoving the guard off him before leaping to his feet like a sprung trap. Without the slightest bit of hesitation, he unsheathed a hidden dagger and charged straight toward Bai Xifeng like a crazed madman!

In his arrogant mind, he did not give much thought to the fact that Bai Xifeng had effortlessly sniped his men moments earlier. To him, she had only succeeded because she had been hiding cowardly in the dark trees and relying on cheap sneak attacks. Now that she was standing openly right in front of him without any cover, she was nothing more than easy, defenceless prey. Unfortunately for him, he had underestimated the absolute wrong person.

Bai Xifeng did not even bother drawing a weapon or stepping back. She merely lifted one delicate hand and casually flicked her slender fingers toward the ground. The hidden, potent earth element spiritual energy beneath the soil instantly surged like a raging tide!

Rumble!

The ground beneath them trembled violently with a sudden, localised shockwave. Before the charging leader could even comprehend what was happening, the solid dirt beneath his feet completely collapsed, creating a deep, narrow pit directly under him.

"Ahhh!" The leader let out a startled, terrified cry as his body fell straight down into the sudden hole.

Thud!

His heavy body slammed forcefully against the hard bottom of the pit. Just as he panicked and tried to scramble back out, the earthen walls of the pit suddenly began moving as if possessed by a living force. The packed dirt compressed inward from every direction with crushing strength! The hole rapidly narrowed until it wrapped tightly and rigidly around his entire torso and limbs, cementing him completely upright inside the earth.

Only his head remained exposed above the surface of the ground like a helpless vegetable. No matter how furiously he squirmed, grunted, or channelled his internal energy, he could not budge even a single millimetre.

"W-What kind of strange sorcery is this?!" The trapped leader shouted in pure, sweating panic, his eyes bulging out.

Meanwhile, the protective guards who had been under attack quickly snapped out of their shock and securely bound the last remaining subordinate with heavy ropes before he could even attempt another desperate escape. After ensuring that the dangerous situation was officially under full control, the middle-aged man who appeared to be the captain of the guards straightened his uniform and walked reverently toward Bai Xifeng. He respectfully cupped his hands together and bowed deeply at the waist.

"Young Lady, thank you for saving our lives tonight." The middle-aged man’s voice rang out, filled with profound, sincere gratitude. "We truly appreciate your timely and noble assistance. Had you not intervened so decisively tonight, I am afraid none of us would have lived to see tomorrow’s sunrise."

"It’s really nothing." Bai Xifeng waved her hand lightly, dismissing the intense gratitude with a calm, casual smile. "I simply heard a loud commotion in the distance while resting and came over to take a quick look. I certainly did not expect to run into a situation like this."

Just as her words settled, the creaking door of the wooden carriage suddenly burst open.
