Chapter 530: Chapter 1: Goodbye, Prince Noah
"HUFF, HUFF..."
Watching the Beast Emperor dissipate from the world, Robson let out a few long breaths.
To be fair, the Beast Emperor’s Extraordinary power was truly impressive; at the very least, Robson had struggled in the fight.
’He’s dead? Just like that?’
This was a figure who had battled the Frank Kingdom for decades. One could even say that he, Lord Robson, had spent the entire past year dealing with the Beast Emperor.
"Venerable one, may I ask..."
Robson felt someone calling him and turned to look.
He saw Prince Noah, looking dashing and debonair, his body spattered with a few drops of blood.
’The Beast Emperor self-destructed, and his blood dissipated into dust. So where did this blood come from?’
’Prince Noah probably did it to himself.’
The army Prince Noah had brought didn’t stop after the Beastman Army was defeated; they continued to charge the remnants of the Beastman forces. Prince Noah himself was too weak to participate in the fighting.
But in this war, politics outweighed military matters. The Prince had to take the primary credit, and if he didn’t cover himself in blood, how would the world know that he, Noah, had fought tooth and nail?
"Venerable one? Are you from General Robson’s command?" Prince Noah asked.
"Venerable" was a respectful term for an unfamiliar Legendary-tier master. Robson was still shrouded in Silver-White Fighting Qi, and Prince Noah couldn’t see his face at all.
A hint of doubt lingered in his heart. ’When did Robson get a Legendary-tier Extraordinary under his command? Didn’t the Fengman Clan’s Legendary master die?’
’Then again, you can never be too sure. Some old fossils love to hide themselves away. The royal family itself has a few tucked away.’
A Legendary master was more than enough for Prince Noah to show some respect, especially since this particular master had just slain the Beast Emperor.
Robson smiled at his words. The Silver-White Fighting Qi gradually shrank and then receded into his body.
After the Silver-White Fighting Qi faded, a head of blond hair and a young, handsome face appeared before Prince Noah.
At first, Prince Noah’s eyes showed confusion, which then gradually turned to shock!
"Robson!"
"Oh! By the Lord of Dawn..."
"How... how can it be you!" Prince Noah looked utterly astounded.
Seeing Noah again, Robson offered a salute.
"Your Highness Prince, it’s been a while."
Prince Noah hurried forward to help him up, his expression shifting from shock to joy. He proactively pulled Robson into a hug, not forgetting to pat him on the back.
"Robson! It’s been too long!"
"I’ve often heard of your deeds on the central front. A lion uncaged, indeed. If I’d arrived any later, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have even seen the Beast Emperor’s remains," said Prince Noah.
These words were actually true. Prince Noah had never imagined that Robson would become a Legendary-tier master!
Legendary! At twenty years old! What did that even mean? It was beyond legendary. Prince Noah’s joy at seeing Robson was also genuine; he had been hearing about Robson’s exploits on the central front constantly these past few days.
How could he not be joyful at the sight of the kingdom’s future rising star?
As for apprehension? Prince Noah hadn’t considered it. In his eyes, as strong as Robson was, his background as the second son of a Baron was an undeniable weakness.
Robson also smiled and exchanged a few pleasantries.
"Prince Noah, you praise me too much.
Kemal’s current predicament is ultimately thanks to the efforts of His Highness Prince and the Marquis. If not for Your Highness, with my meager forces, I wouldn’t have been able to intercept him—I’d probably be the one running from him.
Even setting you aside, credit is also due to His Majesty for his masterful coordination, which has kept the armies in harmony. You should be thanking His Majesty," Robson said with a smile.
Respect had to be mutual.
Prince Noah pointed at Robson, his tone that of a friend teasing another.
"Hey, the credit belongs to everyone. And here you are, being all formal with me."
"Words from the bottom of my heart."
"Hah, it’s fine to say that in private. But once the battle is over, I’ll introduce you to some of the influential figures of our Human Race.
From now on, you are the rising star of our Frank Kingdom, the face of our nation. Don’t be so modest," Prince Noah said with a laugh.
"Of course, I will follow Your Highness’s arrangements," Robson nodded.
Looking at Prince Noah, Robson could only sigh with emotion. The world was full of heroes, as numerous as carp crossing a river.
Both Prince Noah and Marquis Oscillate were testaments to this. After all, this was a civilization thousands of years old; the natives were not to be underestimated.
Whether Prince Noah was acting or truly felt no apprehension toward him, Robson couldn’t detect anything unusual in the prince’s eyes—only the joy of friends reunited.
.....
Meanwhile, in another part of the camp, the war was still raging.
Robson’s army was locked in a fierce battle with the Beastman Army when the Knight Orders from the various human kingdoms arrived.
Two thousand Knights meant two thousand Extraordinary warriors, and they simply crushed the Beastman Army.
Many Beastmen didn’t even have time to cry out.
The Beastman Army had first fought the Gray Dwarves, then battled Robson’s army, and they were already completely exhausted.
The Knight Orders of the kingdoms became the final straw that broke the camel’s back.
When the effects of the potion wore off, the Beastmen began to scatter and flee.
Of course, not everyone’s attention was on the Beastman Army.
Lumian Knight Commander, for example.
Lumian Knight Commander was currently staring at Robson’s army.
Robson had gathered all the troops of the sixth tier and above into one group.
An army composed entirely of sixth-tier soldiers—even the most ordinary person could see they were different, let alone Lumian Knight Commander, who was already a competent military strategist.
When Lumian Knight Commander later saw several of Algeria’s legions, he was even more astounded.
The Franks’ prowess could be explained by their constant warfare, but these Algerians were truly unbelievable.
Lumian Knight Commander remembered clearly that just a few months ago, these guys had been a bunch of thugs and hooligans.
This was also a common practice in the Human World. Everyone liked to send these criminals to the Frank Kingdom to fulfill their quotas.
’That Earl Robson truly lives up to his reputation.’
Lumian Knight Commander thought to himself that he must find an opportunity to discuss military strategy with him.
.....
The war ended quickly. The Beastmen, naturally, were routed and fled.
However, as Prince Noah entered the battlefield, he saw some maddened Dwarves and frowned.
"What’s going on? Aren’t the Gray Dwarves our allies?
I recall my father the King signing the treaty himself," said Prince Noah.
Robson opened his mouth, wanting to explain that it was probably because of the Magic Array.
But when he turned and saw the faint smile on Prince Noah’s face, a realization dawned on him.
’It seems no one wants the Gray Dwarves as an ally anymore.’
"They were, before. But for some reason, these guys suddenly launched an attack on my legions."
"Perhaps it was a Beastman conspiracy," Robson said.
"Oh, indeed." Prince Noah nodded.
"I’ve long heard that the Gray Dwarves are a race even more despicable than the Purple-blooded Beastmen.
Betrayal comes as easily as breathing to them."
Those words weren’t wrong, although they were slightly inappropriate for the current situation.
Robson nodded.
"Perfectly correct, Your Highness."
