"Planet Guardian!" someone exclaimed.

On the large screen, a blue-glowing Rift shone with an intoxicating radiance.

The Rift was the exact same thing Yang Bo had seen in a commercial earlier, the one he had muttered was even more powerful than a Flying Sword. He only knew its name, Rift, and absolutely nothing else.

"That’s not a Planet Guardian. This Rift looks fairly standard. It should be a Super Evolver, most likely one of the Advanced Military Officers from March Star," the fat boss said, shaking his head.

"We’re saved."

"Exactly, how amazing is that?"

"Yeah."

"Looks like going to March Star was the right choice."

The crowd buzzed with discussion. Yang Bo also breathed a sigh of relief. With such a powerful figure present, they would surely be fine. However, his heart skipped a beat when he noticed the fat boss’s expression growing even more somber.

The fat boss shook his head. "The cramped environment of a spaceship actually isn’t suitable for a Rift. A Mecha’s automated Laser Cannon system reacts much faster."

Just then, a voice echoed through the cabin: "Citizens of March Star, I apologize for putting you all in danger this time.

"Please remember my next words. I will open all channels connecting the passenger cabin to the cargo hold. I urge everyone to head to the cargo hold to hide from the pirate attack.

"There is a pirate mole on this transport ship. I currently cannot trust anyone and am forced to take the following measures.

"I have released a distress beacon. A Fleet is expected to come to our rescue within three days.

"During this period, I will activate the transport ship’s spin system to prevent the Pirate Battleships from docking.

"Additionally, I will destroy the Warship’s main Light Brain system and cut off all smart monitoring equipment to prevent the pirates from using them to find you.

"As a last resort, you may use the escape pods. Wait until the rescue Fleet arrives before leaving in them.

"This transport ship will spin continuously, making it impossible for any Warship or Warplanes to approach.

"There are only about a hundred members of the Silver Moon Pirates on this ship. Given the massive space of the transport ship, your chances of survival are quite high.

"Silver Moon Pirates, if you wish to leave now, your only option is the escape system. You have provoked someone you shouldn’t have. I will be hunting you from the shadows. Citizens, take care."

As soon as the voice fell, the blue Rift spun wildly inside the main control room, and the screen cut to black. The doors to the cabin corridors subsequently opened. Everyone was dumbfounded! Escape pods operated on an independent system. Even with the transport ship spinning, using an escape pod—or life pod, as they were the exact same thing—would not be an issue.

Amid the stunned crowd, the fat boss leaped toward a surveillance camera. He touched it and said, "It’s already been cut off. Everyone, hurry to the cargo hold." Green arrows now illuminated the path to the cargo hold, and the passengers swarmed toward the entrance corridor. Given the massive size of the transport ship, the vast majority of it was actually dedicated to cargo space. Yang Bo finally grasped the situation.

March Star had indeed sent someone to protect these immigrants. The protector was highly capable but couldn’t trust anyone due to the mole. Thus, they set the transport ship to spin in space, preventing the pirates’ Warships and Warplanes from docking—though, given enough time, a pirate Warship might still manage it.

In other words, for the next three days, they could only rely on themselves. Yang Bo hurriedly squeezed into the crowd, casually plucking a few strands of hair from some teenage boys and girls along the way to use for his Disguise.

Unsurprisingly, Yang Bo found himself at the very back. The fat boss was the first to vanish, while the others practically unleashed Superpowers as they sprinted away with their families.

"Huh?" Catching sight of a specific sign, Yang Bo felt a stir of inspiration and walked over. "Maintenance entrance?" He recognized the symbol immediately.

"Is my Warship Maintenance ability kicking in? Even though this isn’t technically a Warship." Yang Bo placed his hand against the door. It was locked from the other side, but fortunately, it utilized a dual mechanical and electronic structure. With a single thought, the door unlocked.

Yang Bo quickly slipped inside, shut the door, and locked it tight before carefully examining the maintenance corridor.

"AHHH!!!" The Pirate Leader of the Silver Moon Pirates arrived at the main control room with his men, staring at the corpses of their crew members. Because the main system had been shut down, the elevators were useless; both the Mechas and the men had been forced to climb the stairs. The control room was in complete ruins. The Light Brain control hub had been sliced to pieces. From the windows, they could see that the transport ship was rapidly spinning.

Under such high-speed rotation, it would be extremely difficult for other Warships to approach. Docking with a rapidly spinning target in space generally required a synchronized docking system so both vessels could match speeds. But with the main system destroyed, the Pirate Gang had no way to establish a docking connection with the outside.

"Number Three, where the hell did you go?" the Pirate Leader roared, glaring at a man clad in silver Battle Armor.

"Boss, I checked the cargo manifest and found some good stuff. There are over a thousand Energy Weapons, as well as Energy Armor. I went down to see for myself," Number Three explained, sounding somewhat aggrieved.

The Pirate Leader paused. "From Sanmu Resource Recycling Company?"

"Yeah."

"Boss, why don’t we just leave?" another pirate suggested.

"Boss, exactly whose family developed this March Star?" The other members of the Pirate Gang felt a chill run down their spines. A maniac controlling a Rift was hiding in the shadows—this was too terrifying.

"We’re pirates, what are we afraid of?" the Pirate Leader barked. "Number Five, go outside the transport ship and use your Mecha to contact our Warship.

"Try to synchronize the data. As far as I know, it’ll take at least a week for the nearest Alliance Warship to arrive. Within this week, as long as our Warship manages to dock, we’ll be fine.

"Besides, we still have seventy-six men and thirty-six Mechas. Form six Mechas into a squad and flush them out first. Round up anyone you find, and kill anyone who resists.

"So what if he has a Rift? Against the automated firepower of our Mechas, he’ll destroy one Mecha at most!" the Pirate Leader sneered.

"Boss, you’re a genius." The others realized he was right.

The Pirate Leader added resentfully, "Once the Warships dock, take everyone we’ve found aboard our ship, then blow this transport ship to kingdom come! Let that son of a bitch die. How dare he kill so many of our brothers! Don’t go looking for him—just find the passengers. We took money from the Anti-Government Forces. If we don’t hand over a batch of people to them, those mad dogs will endlessly harass us."

"Understood."

"Once we’re out of here, we’ll make it a point to exclusively raid that bastard March Star! Who do they think they are? Move out! And remember: kill anyone who resists."

"Yes, sir!"

The pirates split into six squads. Five of the squads, each equipped with six Mechas and four pirate members, went out to search for passengers. The remaining squad of six Mechas and the rest of the crew stayed in a performance cabin, watching over the hostages who had already been fitted with Restraining Collars. Anyone else found later would be brought here.

The Pirate Leader was also here. Watching his subordinates on the side shooting racehorses with Laser Guns, and seeing the hostages crying in terror, the Pirate Leader shook his head disdainfully. "What bullshit animal protection laws. Those Alliance bastards just use that garbage to fool idiots."

The cabin offered a wide field of view and was spacious enough to hold a large number of hostages. The six Mechas had their alert systems activated, forming an overlapping web of crossfire. Unless the enemy also brought Mechas, they had no chance. Furthermore, the Pirate Leader knew there wasn’t a single B-class Evolver among the passengers. Even if a B-class was hiding among them, it wouldn’t make a difference. Unless they were an A or A+ class Genetic Evolver, coming here was pure suicide.

Yang Bo surveyed the wide corridor. This was the maintenance channel. Looking at the strand of hair in his hand, a thought crossed his mind. The next second, he felt his body shift.

"This feels..." Yang Bo realized he had transformed into a teenage boy. A disturbing thought suddenly bubbled up. "What if I turn into a girl, then... ahem." He then noticed his voice had changed as well.

"That makes sense. The structure of my vocal cords has altered," he deduced.

"I’ll head to the maintenance center first. It’s the perfect place to practice piloting a Mecha." After a brief moment of thought, Yang Bo reverted to his original appearance, as maintaining the Disguise consumed Energy.
