Chapter 5261: Golden Streaks Descend From The Solar Reverence
Before they could recover, three golden streaks appeared in the heavens.
The three Nether Devilarchs immediately raised their heads.
Even though its power was weaker than the arrow before, their expressions changed.
"Again!?"
Three reverent solar flames arrows descended simultaneously.
Each one possessed a different trajectory.
The Devilarchs desperately raised their hands and unleashed their full strength, attempting to resist the incoming attacks. However, the golden arrows tore through their defensive energies without slowing.
*Puchi!*
One arrow pierced through a Nether Devilarch’s forehead cleanly through the nether sigil, leaving behind a bloody wound.
His eyes widened in shock, yet it went dull.
*Puchi!*
The second arrow pierced through another Nether Devilarch’s head, making it explode with flames.
*Puchi!*
The final arrow followed directly afterward when the last Nether Devilarch attempted to flee, but pierced through the back of his head, breaking the skull and causing the three horns to melt from within.
The three Nether Devilarchs froze in mid-air as their terrifying auras rapidly dissipated as their bodies fell from the sky.
Silence descended over the battlefield.
Hundreds of Exalt Stage Nether Devils had been annihilated in an instant.
Three Nether Devilarchs at the layer limit had also fallen.
Only the nether portal remained, yet it was simply swirling like a spatial vortex, not a single soul daring to step out.
Then, from above the purple-white clouds, a figure slowly descended.
His white hair fluttered gently in the wind, while his robes swayed with an otherworldly grace. A dazzling golden bow rested within his hand, and a reverent solar flames arrow was already nocked upon its string.
The Celestial Transcendent had arrived.
He descended like an immortal from the heavens. His expression was calm, yet his gaze was cold, piercing through the portal and landing on the denizens of the Nether Dimension as well as a certain ruler.
"I told you to..."
His fingers slowly pulled the bowstring backward.
The surrounding reverent solar flames surged toward the arrow, illuminating the entire region.
"...never step foot into my galaxy!"
The bowstring was released.
*Booom!~*
The Solar Radiance Arrow shot forward as it crossed the distance in an instant and entered the nether portal.
On the other side, the Nether Dimension was shrouded in endless darkness. Yet, at this moment, a golden radiance suddenly illuminated the surroundings, forcing the Nether Devils nearby to retreat in panic.
A gigantic figure stood within the darkness.
Nine enormous heads simultaneously turned toward the incoming arrow.
This beast was none other than the Hell Hydra Monarch, his form covered in darkness, and beneath his towering feat was nearly a minor realm’s worth of dark yet heavy water supporting his massive body.
The Nether Devils looked like they were ants when hovering by his side.
His nine pairs of eyes sharply narrowed.
One of his nine heads suddenly opened its jaws.
The terrifying power of a ruler erupted from his body as his head moved forward. The incoming Solar Radiance Arrow trembled violently beneath his pressure, yet it continued forward with astonishing force before shattering when the Hell Hydra Monarch’s jaws snapped shut.
*Klang!~*
It was easily shattered, even easier than lifting a baby.
Yet, the divide between the Nether Dimension and the Second Layer was something that could not be violated.
The Celestial Transcendent gazed at the portal coldly, his gaze menacing as he stared at the Hell Hydra Monarch’s true body on the other side. He guessed it was probably also one of the nine bodies, but unlike the one suppressed by the layer limit, this one was completely beyond his ability to attack.
At the same time, the Hell Hydra Monarch also couldn’t enter unless he suppressed himself or risked getting thrown out by the Void Dimension’s full force.
His gaze flickered as he saw a Nether Devil standing beside the Hell Hydra Monarch.
It was unexpectedly a Nether Devil Overlord, an imperial existence among the Nether Devils even when ridiculous threats like the Nether Devilarchs existed. They were existences that could make use of the Laws of the Nether Dimension to battle, a significant threat.
Naturally, this Nether Devil Overlord was no match for him in combat, but he felt even the current Divine Emperor of Death would find it difficult to handle it, but still win.
The Hell Hydra Monarch looked displeased before he smirked.
"Celestial Transcendent, it’s one thing for you to care about your galaxy, but I’m after the Divine Emperor of Death right now and merely trying to retrieve the replica that belongs to me, but you are protecting him and impeding me. I think you have lost your mind."
The Celestial Transcendent dropped his bow lightly and laughed, "A Supreme Ruler coming after a mere Peak-Level Empyrean Grade replica? That’s fascinating."
The Hell Hydra Monarch scoffed proudly, "It’s a poison replica. You just saw how much damage it could cause, didn’t you? Even Peak Exalts barely survived. As a Supreme Ruler and a guardian of the galaxies, how can I let it run amok?"
"Heh!" The Celestial Transcendent sneered, "What a good guardian. I won’t even bother to get started with it. As for the poison, they don’t know how to counter hell poison. It is simple as that. Otherwise, it’s just the same as any other poison."
The Hell Hydra Monarch guffawed in the same tone, "Heh, just because you are slightly immune to it doesn’t mean your people can. Most importantly, you can never beat me. I’m a Nine-Headed Titanic Hydra, descendant of the Mythical Paragon Magical Beast, Eternal Ocean Hydra. I don’t need poison. Between darkness, water, and karma, I have plenty of ways to overwhelm you. Even your predecessor needed to pay respects to me."
The Celestial Transcendent dispersed the bow and folded his hands as he saw the nether portal closing from being impaired by the reverent solar flames, raising his chin in derision.
"Tsk, tsk, come find me when you learn Chaos Laws. In front of that, all Laws are like children, only capable of bowing their heads obediently. And the Sky Word Emperor was the strongest when he was peaceful and sacrificed himself, not when he was warring with all of you, winning and losing the realms in cycles. Otherwise, he’d have oppressed you to death."
"Hmph!"
The Hell Hydra Monarch harrumphed and said nothing.
Having his plans spoiled, he simply left as though it was just another day in his life. He didn’t even bother leaving words of threat.
Only after the nether portal closed did the Celestial Transcendent’s expression loosen and turn into a frown.
His expression became muddled with thoughts of how to engage in diplomacy again now that tensions had risen again.
Was all-out war the only way left?
He turned to look at the distance where the obsidian flying palace was, but it was already gone. Instead, a purple-robed man descended.
He narrowed his eyes as he saw that it was neither an avatar nor an illusion. It was a mix of two, a doppelganger made up of death energy.
"Celestial Transcendent, I didn’t expect you to spy on me like this..."
Davis landed in mid-air before watching the remnant nether energy from the nether portal on the verge of dispersing. There were supposed to be hundreds of scorched corpses of the Nether Devils, but they had all withered away under the manifested heat of the Solar Reverence. He made a pained expression before he settled for the three Nether Devilarchs, reaching out his hand and unceremoniously drawing them into his spatial ring.
"I’ll take this as compensation."
"..."
The Celestial Transcendent glanced at him with a speechless gaze as though asking: really?
In one way, he had just helped this brat, yet he was still looking to take advantage of him.
But he didn’t say anything in the end, letting Davis leave just like that. The two of them understood that there was nothing they could say to each other to stop themselves from doing what they had to when it came to their families, so they could only expect to take advantage in other ways.
He was already letting these Divergents take the World Hegemon Grade Treasures, so what’s the point of withholding this?
However, he clicked his tongue as though he was discontent.
"This shameless brat, his insolence knows no bounds..."
Recalling how the Divine Emperor of Death had kicked the Hell Hydra Monarch, something even he hadn’t done, he felt jubilant as he revealed a faint smile. He summoned a bow and nocked an arrow but then suddenly watched Davis quickly flee like the wind, his speed even greater than before.
This fleeing form greatly pleased him.
